Alicetheinvisible · 10/05/2010 14:43

Freak how scary!
Had a bit of a moment with DD on saturday in the Bathstore. They have automatic doors which open onto a very busy road, DD only had to be in that part of the shop for them to open. She ran round the corner (in the shop) and as i followed her, the door was open and i couldn't see her at all. Luckily she had ran around another corner, but it really had my heart going. My biggest fear is losing her somewhere.

Ali Salisbury hospital is where i went when i had viral meningitis.

Alicetheinvisible · 10/05/2010 20:05

HMHB i don't know how DD is doing with the bottle now, but with DD we used to give her a bottle of hungry baby formula as last feed at night. I know there is a bit of controversy about various formula etc, but it worked for us and got us through that short period when sleep was a distant memory!
(DD was on ebm mostly, with top ups of formula)

Feeling so knackered this evening, keep hitting the wrong keys and then not being able to figure out why it looks wrong

Made the MN cheating chicken and leek pie for dinner, was very yummy. Now collapsed on the sofa and DH is putting DD to bed. Just trying to decide what to have for pudding......

HalfMumHalfBigot · 10/05/2010 20:58

CWWM - while DD was in nursery today I was at work and all I could think of was that I could be in bed now. I was not productive.

Alice - unfortunately DD will not take a bottle either

She did suck some toast today though .

I don't know why I am posting being as I haven't even achieved anything since last post bar putting kids to bed...

I might not be about tomorrow as another power cut due.

Have a good evening /morning all.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 10/05/2010 21:22

Sympathies on the sleep depravation everyone We were there ourselves until so recently, it's very fresh in my mind! Hope you all get a decent night tonight!
HMHB - have you tried giving her some water in a beaker? DS would never take EBM in a bottle but he would have water in a beaker from 6/7 months. It helped with night wakings, because often he was thirsty rather than actually hungry.

HalfMumHalfBigot · 10/05/2010 21:54

Ali - have tried formula in a beaker but she pushes it away unfortunately. I have tried leaving her to cry a bit and sometimes she goes back to sleep but more often needs quite a bit feed.
One of my friends said that is because she is not getting enough during the day so I am going to have to try to get more calories in her somehow. Bought rusks and rice cakes today to try.

Am off to bed now.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 10/05/2010 22:36

HMHB - how old is DD now? Can you try just plonking a roast in front of her and seeing if she likes it?

Hope you get some sleep, and have a ((hug)) because you sound frazzled.

JustKeepSwimming · 11/05/2010 08:03

Hope everyone got some sleep?
DS1 woke at 5.15 which was not good but he, and I, went back to sleep til 7.15 so that's a relief as i thought we were all up for the day then.
