Aw thanks guys.
You always make me feel better.
I posted re gynae appointment in childbirth and have got some positive responses so feeling better.

Plum - thanks for support. Funny, I've taped OBEM but haven't got the courage to watch it yet . I don't think DH would ever watch it.

Ali - just spoken to my health visitor (the nice one) so she knows where I am at re gynae and DD's cold and I think she keeps an eye on me re PND .
I have told work I will be back 'sometime' before July so it eases up the pressure on me to go back/get DD on a bottle. BTW she will not take a bottle but did try the sippy cup today. She is 5.5 months so will be scrannin soon!

Alice/Freaky - you made me cry to think you also end up with random dinners due to various things. Thanks. .

cikecaka · 24/03/2010 14:21

Plum, have you something to tell us? "Last night I had One born every minute on and dh came in at start and said
oh whats this and then realised
and said no watching it 4 times will be enough for me"

I have worked myself into an awful state this morning. Got a letter from DD2s paed requesting to meet us on the day ward of the hospital next tues. Rang his secretary but she isnt on today. I keep giving myself different scenarios why he needs to meet us but it doesnt stop the panic

Alicetheinvisible · 24/03/2010 15:50

I have just screamed at DD in the street, got home and dragged her upstairs into her room and shut her in Feel awful.

Dancing was very mixed. I don't think you got a lot for your money, but it was quite structured in the way that "now we sit down" "now we jump" "now we do butterfly arms" kind of thing and DD is so used to doing her own thing, i think it could be a very good idea to get her used to doing what she is told before she gets to preschool. All of the other little girls seem to love it, and DD liked the dancing bit, just not the being told what to do bit. She had several tantrums but i think that is because she is tired. It is now silent upstairs so i am guessing she has gone to sleep.

JustKeepSwimming · 24/03/2010 16:08

Oh dear Alice but hopefully she willg et used to it & not be so tired after.

CC - what issues does DD2 have that she had a pead? hope it's nothing too serious.

JKS, DD2 has an underactive thyroid, diagnosed over a yr ago.
She got bloods done a couple of weeks ago, after he rang on CHRISTMAS EVE to up her medication, and he wanted to get them checked in a couple of weeks. Her next appointment is not til June, but the clinic is in a different part of the hospital. Probably over thinking it.
Cant get motivated to do anything, just have to wait til the morning til she rings back

PlumBumMum · 24/03/2010 16:27

No CC Not yet, we're still at the talking stage but from past experience it moves quite quickly, although not quite ready yet don't want Dec/Jan/Feb baby

Alice I think shes abit to young, dd1s dance teacher takes them when they are 3 but preferably in nursery,
she said she would take dd2 now but it is only because she is soo keen because of dd1, I'm not ready for 2 days sitting outside dancing for an hour plus my hour outside school
next year will be different as dd1 & ds both finish at 3

Alicetheinvisible · 24/03/2010 16:34

Cikecaka is it because of the missed appointment?

Plum this is a preschool class especially for 2-4yrs though most of them on a wednesday are between 2 and 3. It was a bad day to go because of having a bad night last night, but wanted to have a taster session before the term starts. In hindsight.....

cikecaka · 24/03/2010 16:35

Apologies,Plum, more overthinking on my behalf.

Alice, if she is tired it can affect how she behaves! She will probably love it and be as good as gold the next time!

Alicetheinvisible · 24/03/2010 16:45

That is what i am hoping.

She is like the little girl who had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead, when she was good she was very very good, but when she was bad she was horrid!

Like Jekyll and Hyde

cikecaka · 24/03/2010 16:59

Alice, when DD3 was about 2 and a half she went through a stage, where I nearly couldnt deal with her and I wondered why I put myself through this again, and then overnight she went back to being a lovely little girl again (well most of the time! )

Alicetheinvisible · 24/03/2010 17:05

She did that a few weeks ago, i went from worrying that i couldn't possibly love another baby as much to worried that i would love it more! Then she was poorly for a week, then seemed to go back to the loveliest little girl ever. I am hoping today is mostly due to her bad eczema and waking last night, but Grrrrr it was hard!

PlumBumMum · 24/03/2010 17:35

Oh sorry Alice it probably was because she was too tired or because shes getting ready for the threenager era[wicked laugh]

CC no need for apologies

HMHB I told my HV(actually a stand in) that I thought I might be abit depressed after dd2 but I added that I knew why,
blaming my dad, so she never bothered too much,
I think because I was aware of it it kept me saner(is there such a word)
although coming from a family were nobody ever suffered depression and didn't advocate taking pills, I was in denial and only now when I look back I can see that I was walking a fine line

I think thats why my MIL is soo good as she is the polar opposite my parents and because she had 4 dcs close together she knows its hard work

come to NI and I will give you a great big hug(and a slice of cake shhh don't tell the others, what flavour, lemon, choc, white choc mud, or my yummy cheesecake????)

cikecaka · 24/03/2010 18:09

I need comforting too (not as much as HMHB) so I am on my way for some cake

JustKeepSwimming · 24/03/2010 18:10

Oi Plum - don't go sneakily not properly sharing your cake!!

We are hoping to ttc (once off ads) in May, which i think would start at a March baby, which is fine, going into spring/summer rather than going into winter. Ands ds2 will be 3 so an ok age gap i hope - have to sort out his supported-probably-pre-school-time by then.

Have taken the fire guard down for carpet cleaner and it looks so much better without it, wondering whether i could leave it off now we're not using the fire, it's only there to stop the DC bumping themselves on the hearth, what do you all think?

Alice, missed your question earlier, No its DD2 that has to go up on Tues, I missed DD3s appointment. I nearly should have my own wing up there, between DD2, DD3 and my mother

JKS I might wait a little longer not sure, but might start folic acid soon, yeap I found out I was pg on the 4th July(long cycle) with dd1 and she was due 4th of March,
I think besides the fact we don't want a winter baby,
when I was pg with dd2 it was one of the toughest years of our lives, so we both agree her pregnancy was overshadowed by everything else(even though we did plan it),
so because this will probably be our last we want to get the most out of it iyswim

Anyway on a lighter note
the fireplaceman is coming tomorrow, definitely

Talking of fires, I think you should keep it off,
we have never had a fire guard on any fires until we got the coal fire, but the gas fire in living room has never had anything and has quite a high hearth,
although it has caused a few scares

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 24/03/2010 21:02

Plum - aw thanks. I'll choose cheesecake please .

I can confirm that a winter baby is hard work. DD born in October in a v cold winter = we don't go outside very much as its either too cold/snowy/raining. Was much easier to keep up with the washing and use washables with DS who was born in July.

JKS - we have a fireguard up at the mo and it looks so much better without. If the fire isn't on we wouldn't have it there. Depends what type of hearth you have. They will get used to it and walk round it after being all over it at first obv .

CC- hope you are ok too.

Lost my list but..

Done
De-cobweb
Washing on
Tidy kitchen
Clean toilet
Tidy bedroom

Tomorrow
Bleach mouldy areas of doom

wastingaway · 24/03/2010 21:24

Evening!

I got off to a great start this morning, but have been laid up on the sofa most of the day with the same horrible windy gutache I had on Sunday.

Dad gets into town tomorrow, and we're going to clean out the mildew cupboard and get it straight.

HMHB, hope the gynae can get it sorted for you.

Alice, hope you're all getting some sleep tonight.

Armageddon is on (I love it!) but I need to go to bed. Night night!

OP posts:
Alibabaandthe40nappies · 24/03/2010 23:24

Evening everyone

HMHB - I forgot that you had a good HV

Plum - we're also not keen on the idea of a winter baby. Friends who were hugely PG in winter say it was awful, and expensive, trying to get clothes that fitted which is another reason to avoid!

Wasting hope you're feeling better tomorrow.

Nettiespagetti · 24/03/2010 23:45

Alicetheinvisible · 25/03/2010 08:44

Morning

DD was born in November and it was lovely as i didn't feel the cold the last few weeks of pg Also, because she was my first, we would do the horses in the morning, and then spend all afternoon snuggled up on the sofa watching midsummer murders getting to know each other and trying to get her to feed (i would give her half a bottle then she would fall asleep on the boob). I know i won't get that with this next one but will cherish the memories of doing that with DD.

I am going to be a better mummy today (if DD behaves ) and we are staying in. My friend and her DS are coming over at 10, so have a little list of things to do before then.

Put cream on DD
Get DD dressed
Put some washing away
Empty dishy
Clear up breakfast stuff
Put washload on
Dry washing from yesterday
Quick tidy round downstairs
Sweep downstairs

Will start at 9am

wastingaway · 25/03/2010 09:17

Morning!

DS was born in the May, and we had a nasty heatwave that July, when he was still a skinny thing and it was scary, our bedroom got up to 29 degrees C some nights. If we had proper summers it would have been a lovely time.

Right Dad gets into town just before midday, and we're going to walk in and meet him for lunch. I've got lots to do and am still feeling a bit crap and DS has 'bogies nose!' he keeps telling me.

I didn't go to bed early, Armageddon was too much to resist.
