Apologies for title.

Write lists, chat about stuff, motivate, celebrate and commiserate.

Evening, knackered here.

My friend is in an awkward situ tbh, she can't afford the mortgage on her own, even if she could get a better deal. There's nothing rentable in the area. So he has to say where she is and their current plan is to both carry on living there until she can sort herself out financially (get a diff job or something) or find a rentable place.

Hello everyone Welcome weegie

Back later than planned tonight, DS slept in the car all the way and so we only got him to sleep at 11.15pm Have done most of the unpacking but the kitchen is a mess!

JKS - does your friend have a good lawyer? If she is primary carer for the children, then they (and therefore she) have the right to stay in the family home until the youngest is 18. Husband must pay for/contribute to this plus maintenence is my understanding
Makes me bloody angry when men do that, selfish twats
Carpet cleaner - we have a Bissell and it is fab, would really recommend it. Why would you have to get rid of the Dyson? Ours Bissell doesn't hoover, only wash. It was only £90 refurbished from Bissell rather than £280 in the shops so we wouldn't have to hire one many times before it overtook the cost.

Freaky - I had a day like that last week, I was so tired I had no patience or engery so DS watched 'Beebies' all day and I MN'd

HMHB - glad that DS is not a budding swordsman after all

Who was asking about nappies? Get Airflow wraps from Motherease, they are seriously bomb proof. I use them over Bambinex during the day and Ella's House hemp/fleecelined at night.

I have got soooooo much to do tomorrow, I don't know where to start. I was going to do a list now but I'm so tired I must sleep.

Alicetheinvisible · 10/03/2010 08:26

Good morning

Freak don't be so hard on yourself! If it makes you feel any better (and it did me) there is a woman who is a friend of a friend who leaves near me. She is very calm, in control, lentil weavery, lovely person. The other day i passed her house as she was trying to get her youngest child into the house and both child and mum were in a complete screaming match with each other. She is the last person i imagined would ever shout at anyone, let alone her children. Kids just know which buttons to press.

In the horsey world they say that horses are great levellers, doesn't matter how great you think you are, your horse can make you look like an incompetant(sp?) fool within about 30secs flat. Kids are the same

Out all morning, hopefully back with a list later

Be back with my list later, have computers this morning, and have spent most of the morning searching for my mother

JustKeepSwimming · 10/03/2010 11:15

CC - why where'd she go??

Re friend - i will remind her about legal advice & CAB, but she does know about that stuff as she used to work in that field helping others. Her husband is self-employed and is just selling his workshop to set up a photography business so no regular income there. confusing i think.

WIll look at the Airflow nappies thanks (it was me )

Storage would be a problem if i had a bissell & a dyson, nowhere to put another thing. So think i would want one that hoovers & cleans but not sure if that means it does neither job well.

Leftover:

  • change speech appt for DS2 SortOfDone
{assistant rang back with first appt not til 7th April, i wanted the therapist i already met and sooner than that, so have pencilled it in and she is getting the boss to ring me back - boss rang but i missed her call, try today)

Tired here, rubbish night's sleep and up early again.

  • tidy (inevitable) chaos

Please may I have a kick up the bum

JustKeepSwimming · 10/03/2010 11:46

Also forgot to put on my list or cross off but yesterday I:

  • cleared out, cleaned, sorted, got rid of lots, and reorganised a big Area of Doom in the kitchen where i keep all the arts & crafts stuff for DS1
  • made up a treasure basket for DS2 with lots of bits (though he's totally disinterested lol)
FreakoidOrganisoid · 10/03/2010 12:26

If anyone wants any (fairly well used)nappies etc let me know! Washables obv!

Feeling better today after some sleep Sounds like it's your turn today though Ali

JKS if the bissel is the one I am thinking of then it would stress me cos I'd never want to get it out the cupboard to hoover so my floors would look worse than they currently do!
Well done on your area of doom clearance
