HMHB - choc cake sounds yum!! Our baking made 'butterfly choc chip buns' the other day and they were yum too, sadly the boys loved them too

Think a lemon cut open and left in the fridge would help too.

HMHB I know that feeling, I put some more pics on fbook yesterday and am at how messy the house looks in the background. Looks like I never do any housework even though I spend all bloody day doing it.

Want cake now

Alicetheinvisible · 07/03/2010 17:55

HMHB Kim and Aggie say you can cut a lemon in half (like JKS suggested) and fill the half with bicarb, but it seems like a bit of a faff I have got 2 new recipes to try on our meal plan this week: sausage casserole and chicken and smoked bacon pie (is leftover roast chicken, smoked bacon, celery, onion etc, in creamy tomato sauce (like pasta bake sauce) topped with mash - looking forward to it)

Freak i loved your pics! Your children are stunning. I have not taken photos before because of what the background would look like how sad is that?

DH is cooking garlic roast chicken - yum

Alicetheinvisible · 07/03/2010 17:59

here is the sausage casserole

Hate to say it but HONESTLY cetraban is CRAP,
get your hands (excuse the pun) on AVEENO its on prescription or Tesco have it on offer,

My ds & dd2 have had dry skin at different times doctor prescribes cetraban and it only works while you are putting it on, with dd2 it didn't work at all,

she got steriod cream and her excema came back once I stopped using it, so I got Aveeno (I use it on my hands) and used it on dd2 I actually haven't put it on her in a couple of weeks and her skin is still fine

I will refund you myself if it dosen't work for you, I think it is that good!!

Anyway (btw I don't own shares in Aveeno)
I have finished dd1s (marble effect, butterfly & flowers) cake at last, have spent all bloomin day on it,
so have loads to do

Evening all!

Ah Plum! I've been using Aveeno, and it's running low, so have been a little tight with it. I shall buy more and slather it on!
Is it the handcream or the skin relief moisturising lotion I should be getting?

HMHB, my Dad's place is a first floor flat, in a large Victorian house and he's got a wooden gate built across the top of the stairs. Much safer.

Well, I've had a lovely day, apart from DS is still unwell. Really sleepy, a little hot and very subdued. Napped on and off all afternoon and barely touched his food. He doesn't seem sick though, so I'm wondering if it's teeth. Would he be teething at 22 months?

I shan't update my list. But will be here in full force in the morning.
Night night.

Plum Aveeno is good too - we do find Cetraben good though. I think probably we aren't as dry as you

Wasting - it could def be teething, has he got all his molars through yet?

Plum - that cake looks lovely. I would post the chocolate cake but its mainly been eaten . I made butter icing (with lurpak) that ended up really hard. May have to use marg or something next time.

Wasting - hope DS feels better tomorrow. Sometimes when they have a virus they don't have any symptoms except are very sleepy/grumpy. DS seems to do this alot when there is something going round school. Dunno about the teeth? See you tomorrow.

Try to do tomorrow

No marg for buttercream I use tesco value range and everyone loves my buttercream

Wasting I was using the handcream, then discovered the body cream was cheaper, then discovered you could get it on prescription

Doctor prescribed massive botle of body lotion for dd2 which we have been using and it works just as well, ask for it on script for your ds

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/03/2010 00:37

HMHB - I use lurpak for my buttercream, sometimes loosen it with a little milk so it spreads better and that seems to keep it softer.

And where are you all looking at freaks photos I can't see anything

cikecaka · 08/03/2010 10:24

I mean that I want to have very little to do on Mothers Day! (next Sunday), but I do see what you mean about Sundays!

weegiemum · 08/03/2010 10:32

I've been invited to pop over here after I had a thread about my total dread of housework over the weekend!!! (thanks Alicetheinvisible!)

I'm a total slattern wrt housework and to make things worse I'm a sahm (also student and pt volunteer literacy tutor) so have loads of time to do it!!

I suffer very bad depression and am dealing with that but am often exceptionally tired. I had a cleaner until mid-Jan but she got a full time job so now it's just me and the mess.

I have a UTI so am lowering my standards today (is that even possible???)

I need to

Have a shower and get dressed
Shop for the week (try to always do this on Monday)
Make a shopping list for the week before I go
Meal plan before I make the list!!!

Clear dining room table and mess on floor, hoover
Tidy round lounge, hoover
Wash dishes, sweep kitchen floor

Be organised and cheerful when kids get in at 3.30
Be nice to Spanish tutor (4.30) - easy - he is lovely!

Sew 2 badges on to ds's new cub jumper (he "swims up" tonight!)
Buy ds's new cub jumper if I feel well enough to traipse to the Scout shop!

Hang out washing
Put away dry washing

Have a nap in the afternoon.

Never going to do it all.

weegiemum · 08/03/2010 10:38

Can I just add - already done:

Kids up at 7, breakfast, teeth, faces, dressed, lunch for 2, money for other, at bus stop for 8, hung up one washing, dh lunch, coffee for commute, cleaned dd1, ds rugby boots from yesterday, opened all curtains and blinds and some windows, made beds (except mine), had breakfast!

Not bad!
