Depending on what postman brings (or not) ring IS and TC's/parents (urghhh) and Letting Agent

ok this last one has changed a bit. Was on the phone to IS, when my mobile rang - it was the Compliance Officer wanting to come out this afternoon to interview XH and I because I've made a single claim while we're still living in the same house. Basically to check that we are indeed "Separated but living together".

hopefully it will all go fine (she's coming at 3.30 - eek) and I'll be able to ring the letting agent to update her on progress.

Wasting - we bought a new one when we had our new kitchen put in 18 months ago, and it has NEVER been cleaned! The grillpan goes through the dishwasher whenever we use it, but that is it. I MUST keep on top of it now.

TAF - eek hope it goes ok

Alice - you are a wuss, but I would do exactly the same!

Freaky - your tap de-scaling mission, how is it going? I just did mine with some Mr Muscle 100% limescale destroyer that I found under the utility sink when I had my clearout last week. She turned up at just gone 3.40

And has just left.

She filled in the first page of the form.

I started told her about the housing options/house thing and how I was waiting on confirmation of my benefits.

She did a double take - rang the office and has now left without doing the forms as she said it would be a waste of time given that I'm only still here because I need the letter.

Should hopefully have my IS letter in the post in the next couple of days

Ali - don't blush, we've lived here nearly 6 years and never cleaned the oven... x lots. I don't think it's actually that bad but like the sound of a 'man who does'

Actually it was 9 for income support, only (?) 7 for tax credits and I did then get a rather large chunk all at once. But had to borrow loads off my parents and clear out my savings and I'd paid 3 months rent plus deposit before I even got HB, was quite stressful.
Hopefully your meeting will sort yours though.

Ali I tried that stuff but my taps are brass (tasteful ) and it did strange things to them!

Bugger forgot to post the gro again! Sorry am useless. Shout at me til I do.

DD weed herself three times at preschool today She's come home in someone elses trousers.

Alicetheinvisible · 22/02/2010 16:17

Freak can you use vinegar on brass? I did my taps with cotton wool soaked in vinegar wrapped round the taps for a couple of hours. You can put plastic bags over them and leave overnight if very bad. Just check before you do it with brass though.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 22/02/2010 16:26

Alice yes you can, they recommend vinegar and bi carb. They were already buggered before I moved in (dull and marked) so the limescale remover mishap didn't do too much damage

PlumBumMum · 22/02/2010 16:30

well done Toccata hope it works out

Alice I'm nearly finished the toxic parenting book and there is a good bit in it about how you respond to people

respondining versus reacting and being non defensive

so responses for your mother would be

oh?
oh I see
thats interesting
your certainly entitled to your opinion
I'm sorry you don't approve
let me think about it

You probably have to see the examples in the book but I'll be using them in future, although conversations with my mum are getting more strained as I don't feel I have anything to say anymore

Freak dod you think your dd mentioned the window cleaner to xh and that is why he thought you were going on a date???

Ali I think I am going to have to get range master out soon as a few of my knobs are sticking, I'm putting it off though as it is ££££££
(I am resisting from the knob and lube jokes)

I have barely done anything have been floating on and off mn
really need to go sort dinner
and underwear!

FreakoidOrganisoid · 22/02/2010 17:13

Have already done dinner

DD was tired and hungry so just had it early to stop the whining, maybe they'll be confused and go to bed early too

Plum she may have but he is suspicious and jealous anyway, accused me of having an affair many times when ds was tiny because I didn't want to have sex with him-reality was I had a constantly screaming baby attached to me and he was being an unsupportive wanker.
