Everyone welcome!

Here you can, for one month:

  • repeat or start baby steps
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone
  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

As we are coverning more ground, to avoid confusion, I'll be posting links early in the morning on the relevant day.

Good luck!

Sorry to hear you've been struck down with a migraine WtD especially hard when your DH is not around.. take it easy. elliepac you always sound so together holding down a full-time teaching job with 2 little Dc - never mind the house - get an early night and start again tomorrow. You've done so well it probably won't be as hard to pull together as you think. Tibni really good luck and best wishes for the interview I'll be thinking of you...

We've had a funny old day too...PILs and a neice and nephew round for lunch and then had to take DS1 to A&E for a possible metatarsal break. Luckily he is only bruised but his foot is about twice the size Only just stopped doing the eve routine now!

What we have to bear in mind is that flying is our choice and that we mustn't obssess over it. Our DHs and DC don't necessarily want to play ball iyswim.Just a thought!!

MiniMarmite · 11/10/2009 22:00

Goodness me, sounds like you've had eventful weekends pushmepullyou and OM. Hope all injuries healing well.

Thanks for tomorrow's step DTG.

I'm just procrastinating - I really need to do a 50 minute room rescue in the bedroom and then go to bed...

paranoiabigdestroyer · 11/10/2009 22:33

OMD too true - I really need to remember that a topsy turvey house at the weekend is not a catastrophe and DCs and DH would much rather have my time and company than a shiny sink and a tidy living room. There is always Monday to pick things up. However, I won't have this opportunity when I go back to work full time in January and I'm already stressing about how I'm going to cope.

Thanks for tomorrow's babystep DTG I couldn't contemplate a room rescue after about 7pm _ I marvel at those of you flying at this time of the evening. Baby's bedtime at 7.15pm is my full stop to the day and then I enjoy a lovely big glass of red moment of calm.

droitwichmum · 12/10/2009 06:13

PBD I work full time and am out of the house for up to 12 hours a day. I refuse to get up until 6am unless DS and the cats REALLY bug me. The most important advice I have for you is to get to bed early. I don't always manage it and struggle the next day. DH reminds me when it is 10.15 to make me aware of the time. He also does the cooking which helps. If he didn't the slow cooker someone mentioned yesterday would be really helpful as there is little to do when you get home.

droitwichmum · 12/10/2009 06:28

Good morning fellow flutterers - a new week starts here!

I'm sending lots of motivation to everyone.

Here's my list
dressed
breakfast
washing on
wake DS up....
make packed lunch

clean toilet
clear DS room of rubbish
15 min room rescue (spare room)
Hot Spot (diniong table)
mending
ironing
shine sink

I'll check in later have a good day everyone!

Countingthegreyhairs · 12/10/2009 06:46

Morning all

Just popping in to post steps

Will be back later for a more detailed round-up

baby-step for Monday 12

today we are in a new Zone, the bathroom + one other room

Monday's mission - but only if you have decluttered

Thanks for posting baby-step Dreamteam although am a bit worried now ...

I've been posting steps once a day (morning only) on this thread because daily mission + zone information only appears on Flylady website then, not night before, and I thought it might be too confusing to post twice (and frankly, I didn't want to be tied to posting twice either ). Also, tend to post baby-steps for weekend on Friday night for weekend ahead.

Is that OK with everyone? Or do you need baby-step night before? Sorry if so!! Let me know and we can sort something out

[Can you tell I am feeling paranoid stressed this morning . Have to get my head around new technology package at work today and can't for the life of me understand it and am DREADING my day ...]

Hope everyone who was feel ill or de-motivated over the w/e is feeling a bit better this morning

Back later!!

hellsbelles · 12/10/2009 09:03

Thanks CTGH - babystep completed! Hope your head handles the technology - I'm sure you'll crack it (the technology not your head )

We were away this weekend so have a mountain of washing to catch up on and there seems to be something wrong with drainage...everytime I run the washing machine the house starts smelling like rotten egges oh joy.

annmar · 12/10/2009 10:12

Hello everyone.

Been off enjoying RL for the last few days and not managed to check in.

Kitchen still looks lovely and clean, but floor needs doing again.

My list for today is:

Put shopping away

De clutter fridge
Clean kitchen floor
De clutter bathroom
Do some washing
Fill car with diesel
Take DD1 to shops to buy pressies for the two parties she is going to at the weekend.

Have already done the baby step.

See you all later.

havingagiraffe · 12/10/2009 10:13

CTGH Fine with steps posted in the morning. You are always up and on-line before me anyway!

Right ladies, Monday is here, no more excuses (from me anyway) and already I have:

Done morning routine
Washing on
DW emptied and refilled
2 x bathrooms cleaned (including zone jobs and kelly's mission)
Swimming stuff ready

Off to get bread to make my sandwiches and hopefully get DS off to sleep at the same time.

Please ensure I hoover stairs and landing this week - they are hideous- and I'm not being a perfectionist, they really are terrible.

PMPY I have the animal attachment for my Dyson - it is the best thing ever! I have a white cat and aubergine sofas and chairs (yes I know stupid but style is style!)

Hope all the migraines/sick DH's etc have now gone - why do they hit at the weekend - seems unfair really.

frazzled74 · 12/10/2009 11:07

have done morning routine,
cant do bathroom as we are having work done in there this week, so I am concentrating on kitchen which i didnt have time to finish last week,
jobs for today.
clear out kitchen drawers
pull out appliances and sweep, mop.
clean kitchen light.
quick hoover round downstairs.
then i am going to sit down and watch daytime tv for 1 hour before school run!

tibni · 12/10/2009 12:51

Thank you for all the good wishes for the interview. My boss has text me to ask me to do overtime tomorrow and she is on the interview panel so I may gleen a little more information from her!

The Lemon Meringue was v good - although I say so myself - I forced a wedge down and then spent 90 mins on cardio at the gym thinking about my interview suit! LOL

Yesterday was going so well - had a tidy round downstairs and then helped dd make clothes for her teddy - I say help she did the first seam then I did the rest . Dh took dc's swimming and I hit the gym. Came home put dinner in the oven and the gym kit in the washer and the house fused! Culprit is washer which has a 10yr guarentee so we have man coming out tomorrow morning.

So I had a pile of wet washing - waited till it was all soaking till it fused! Luckily I have a good friend (kids godfather) who lives in the next street so I took the washing around there. I have another load in now (we have his spare key) and I have promised him a roast dinner tonight in return.

I did manage to sort the drawers in ds bedroom yesterday and have 2 carrier bags of out grown clothes to pass on.

dh is an IT expert so is putting me through my paces in general office IT. I am hoping our marriage survives! Job spec says awareness would be useful he sees this as degree level knowledge of every aspect of application!

Didn't help when he told me that if I have a 5 day a week job I wouldn't be able to keep my routines up! He doesn't know how lucky he was not to feel the rash of the toilet brush! (mid swish and swipe). IF I get the position I wouldn't have to leave the house until 10.15 ish!

Hope you all have a good day - will try and get 15 mins on bathroom cleaning when I am next allowed a break! LOL

GoldenSnitch · 12/10/2009 14:45

Developed a stinking cold over the weekend so I've been curled up on the sofa trying to amuse a 2 year old today rather than flying...

Fingers crossed this goes soon so I can get back to it all.

paranoiabigdestroyer · 12/10/2009 15:00

I didn't sign up to the fairy's emails as I really didn't fancy having to check them every day. Have I missed anything important? I am assuming everything I need to know and all the motivation to kick me into gear each day can be found on here?

Today I have:

unloaded / loaded dishwasher
2 loads in w/m and on line drying in beautiful sunshine
wiped clean living room window on inside
started to clean metal venetian blind in bathroom (yuck)
cleaned and sorted cereal cupboard in kitchen
swept downstairs floors
done weekly food shop based on meal planner
had coffee with a friend and her two toddlers

To do:

ironing (maybe leave til tomorrow...)
cook spag bog
finish bathroom blind
a few cheques to put in post before the strike hits

havingagiraffe done your stairs yet???!

Countingthegreyhairs · 12/10/2009 16:51

Afternoon all!!

I am officially useless in the office - horrible day - so relieved to be home glugging tea

Downstairs looking increasingly good

Upper floors still disaster zones (except for bathroom) making no progress at all with them so hoping this week's zone decluttering will make a difference.

How are you all doing?

Waves to Paranoid - Venetian blinds are the pits. Am assuming same this as you. Have actually subscribed to Flylady e-mails (because of this thread) but haven't really had time to read them properly yet !! I will do so and if there's anything important I'll get back to you. That's a good list you've got through today.

You are right btw about flying at w/es. The way I deal with it is to fly on one day only and have a definite day off (apart from eve routine). Family should come first at w/es.

Passes handkerchiefs and honey and lemon drink over to Snitch - get better soon and take it steady

tibni - your preparations for the interview sound very thorough and I'm sure will stand you in good stead. Hope your fuses are sorted and now your routines are written down you can make them accessible to your dh (suggest large print version)

Well done Frazzled - that's good going when you have builders in

Sounds like you had a very good start today HavingaG - have you hoovered your stairs love??

Waves to Dreamteam - have quick question for you - if this zone includes bathroom plus "one other room" - what happens about dividing up the other upstairs rooms in terms of zones??? (sorry - should investigate myself I know - just being lazy!)

PA Anmar MiniMarmite Optimistic and Hellesbelles (hope pong sorted and yes, I definitely cracked !

You had a cracking start Droitwich and you are right about going to bed early. It IS crucial (I need to be far more disciplined about this)

Pushmepullyou (hope your dh is ok) (and your pheasant sounds delicious) how are you and Elliepac both doing today? Hope things are going better for you ...don't be too hard on yourselves ... just jump back in when you feel up to it and do one of the steps just for 15 mins...

ShoppingVEggie I'm glad it's going well for you and I will book it this week!!

Hope you feel better WalktheD

Waves to anyone I have missed

Back later!!

OP posts:
Countingthegreyhairs · 12/10/2009 16:54

Sorry, was rushing there and interrupted several times

Paranoid - meant to say - I assumed the same as you ie poss to glean all the necessary bits without receiving e-mails but will let you know

And meant to "wave" to PA Anmar et al

OP posts:
havingagiraffe · 12/10/2009 17:30

This asking to be nagged thing is great. I'd forgotten about my stairs until Paranoia reminded and they have now been hoovered. Have not done the landing but will do when DS & DP are in the bath

Thanks for the kick up the bum!

tibni · 12/10/2009 19:33

CTGH - errrr not quite got round to writing the routines down . But I will do it Thursday (working tomorrow and interview Wednesday) Have spent all afternoon doing aptitude tests and my head is spinning. Did really well in some areas, some i'm not as strong at (but they were university graduate tests so not feeling too bad!)

Just taking a break now; lots of strong coffee then off to face the toilet! I know how to live! LOL

elliepac · 12/10/2009 19:46

Just popping in to say hello as have a mountain of schoolwork to do. Have cheered up a bit since yesterday though i have now come down with the lurgy and can't be off work because i was off last week with DD .

Have not done much but have managed to rectify the complete shamble that i left the place in last night. Have got a big meeting tomorrow so tomorrow night when that's out of the way will try and get back on track.

Cannot say hi to everyone individually but wanted to say a huge good luck to tibni in case i don't get on tomorrow night. You sound very well prepared so go and sock it to them so to speak.

positiveattitudeonly · 12/10/2009 20:03

Oh I am so excited that it is the bathroom this week. Family bathroom is all up together and my swish and swiping seems to be keeping it fine. Second bathroom is hardly used, so no mess really swish & swipe is sufficient and the shower room is too disgusting for words, but the buiders are due in 3 weeks to beautify and expand it and make it into a luxurious wet room, so I don't intend to do any work in there this week. If I chose the study as my "other" room, I have nothing to do all week as that is DH's domain and never touched by any other human hands!

I could really do with a let off a bit for this week as I have to do 2 weeks of work this week as I am going away next week and nobody else to step in and help me. So manic week ahead at work. i think I will probably keep to babysteps and start again when I get back properly.

Hope everyones heads are now ok. Funny how so many of us were poorly this weekend. And kept A&E busy too!!

TBNI - good luck with Wednesday, just in case I miss you tomorrow.

Hi to everyone. Not feeling wonderful so please excuse me not scrolling up and down to say individual messages.

annmar · 12/10/2009 21:15

I've managed to do everything on my list today.

Will try and keep them short this week to see if I can complete each day.

I should be able to clean the bathroom tomorrow and then have a nice relaxing bath in a nice clean bathroom.

droitwichmum · 12/10/2009 21:42

Hi all... just flying past whilst doing a pile of marking!
Laptop screen has broken -eekso I am sneaking onto the kids' to have my fix of this thread!
Sounds like everyone is going great guns. I have only managed am/pm routine today. I'll catch up on Weds - my day off!
Managed to get a pair of crutches for DS1 so he should find it a bit easier hobbling round school tomorrow.

Not looking forward to going round the back of my toilet bowls..

See you all tomorrow!

dreamteamgirl · 12/10/2009 23:37

TIBNI Good luck mate, hope it goes really well

CTGH Sorry for causing confusion yesterday- I know last month you were posting babystep night before, and hadnt paid enough attention to realise it had moved to morning

re the other upstairs rooms, I guess they come around in zone 3 in a rolling cycle, but I do tend to some in zone 1 as well as my entrance hall etc isnt exactly huge ... zone lis is all the zones. Does that help at all?

droitwichmum · 13/10/2009 06:28
