how often do you change ur kids beds???

I only change my kids beds when they lose that fresh smell/feeling. I don't have a regular set pattern for doing it and we are away at least one or two weekends a month. Sometimes it can be 3 weeks, even 4 between changes.

My mum strips her bed religously every week and i'm sure she'd be horrified if she thought i wasn't changing the kids as often.

i'd be interested how often other people change their kids beds. (kids are pre school btw.)

Once a fortnight.

Houseofpants · 08/06/2009 09:48

Every Sat but active boys=sweaty smells

helsbels4 · 08/06/2009 09:50

I change my dc's beds weekly (only very occasionally leave it longer than that) but don't change my bedding anywhere near that often

6inchnipples · 08/06/2009 09:57

My bed def needs changing more than the kids. I'm in their bfing all night, leaky boobs, posseting baby, sweaty 17 stone man beside me..need i go on.

The kids beds smell fresh much longer. I go on my nose, if i can still smell the washing powder its fine, if not it needs a change.

I don't know how people manage to stick to a certain day to change the beds. My mum does it every sunday, she also cleans her hoover then too so she can hoover mattress. I just don't have time for this every week and every week different in our house. I also look at how much washing needing done before i strip a bed so don't get overwhelmed trying to see the bottom of laundry basket!

twice a week...on saturday and wednesday!

SusieDerkins · 08/06/2009 15:37

Once a week. I have a big bed changing session once a week when we all get clean sheets.

Gorionine · 08/06/2009 15:39

every 2 weeks.

MummyDoIt · 08/06/2009 15:44

All beds get changed once a week. It might go a day or two longer if I'm busy but not often.

Bettymum · 08/06/2009 15:50

Once a week on a Saturday, on all the beds.

MrsMattie · 08/06/2009 15:50

once a week.

stressed2007 · 08/06/2009 15:52

alot longer then that!

wilbur · 08/06/2009 15:52

Once a fortnight.

sleepwhenidie · 08/06/2009 15:58

change the pillowcase and bottom sheet every 2 weeks or if grotty but longer between washes for duvet cover as my DS always wears pj's and kicks the duvet off anyway.

addicted - TWICE a week?! What are your kids doing in bed? And aren't you constantly surrounded by drying/waiting to be ironed bed linen?!

bellavita · 08/06/2009 16:04

between 7 & 9 days

foofi · 08/06/2009 16:08

Many years ago when I had an au pair to help me with things like that, they got changed every week, but now it's 2 weeks minimum!

ohdearwhatamess · 08/06/2009 16:09

Once a week, sometimes once a fortnight for ds1's bed. Whenever I remember really.

Ds2's cot sheets are changed every 2/3 days due to the sheer volume of snot that gets on them at night.

Egg · 08/06/2009 16:10

Every sunday all the bed sheets get done.

Ours is always stinky by then.
DS1 (age 3) has a Blankie he sucks so his gets damp and stinky, I often change his pillowcase midweek as well.
DTs (17 months) invariably get snot and dribble on theirs.

poshtottie · 08/06/2009 16:18

addicted, do you have staff? Twice a week!!

I normally do mine and ds once a fortnight. We have a bath/shower every night.

Flamesparrow · 08/06/2009 16:24

DD - most days (wets bed)

DS... when I think of it

Flamesparrow · 08/06/2009 16:25

In my defence, I spend so much time washing her bedding, that I tend to just feel like I have done everyone's....
