how often do you change ur kids beds???

I only change my kids beds when they lose that fresh smell/feeling. I don't have a regular set pattern for doing it and we are away at least one or two weekends a month. Sometimes it can be 3 weeks, even 4 between changes.

My mum strips her bed religously every week and i'm sure she'd be horrified if she thought i wasn't changing the kids as often.

i'd be interested how often other people change their kids beds. (kids are pre school btw.)

I've only got an iccle baby so once a week, or more if he's sick on it.

laurasmiles · 08/06/2009 16:30

Every 5 days or so here!

whooosh · 08/06/2009 16:32

Change DD's bedding every Tuesday and mine every Wednesday so house doesn't look like a Chinese laundry.

But I don't iron anything!!

swanriver · 08/06/2009 16:55

About every week, pillowcases more often. Sometimes just turn duvets over the other way. Can't do on special day of week because get confused by bedwetting changes.

GetOrfMoiLand · 08/06/2009 17:08

DD's gets changed every couple of days - prob 3 times a week on average.

I change mine most days.

In my defence we are not lunatics, we have black cats and DP and DD let them into the bedrooms. Plus I like clean sheets anyway, and I have acculumulated a load of sheets over the years somehow.

Anyway DD changes her own sheets thankfully. She started changing her own bedding when she was about 12

muffle · 08/06/2009 17:16

I'd like to think I do it every two weeks or more but tbh, it can go a month, barring accidents etc. Same with our bed.

Sazisi · 08/06/2009 17:20

About once a fortnight, although this will probably have to change because I've just bought white duvet sets

6inchnipples · 08/06/2009 18:23

OMG some people really go to town huh??

twice a week?????

most days???

i feel a bit that mine can be left a bit long sometimes but less washing = less environmental impact. Surely there is no need to change ur bed most days??

plus if i changed the beds this often i'd never get a chance to do anything other than laundry.

every week for all of us, kids are 2 , 4 and 7

Hulababy · 08/06/2009 18:43

Every 2-3 weeks.

I seriously do not have the time nor inclination to wash more often. Better for the environment to wash less anyway. And my DD doesn't smell so they don't relly get dirty!

nevergonnapost · 08/06/2009 18:53

if its nice weather i have been known to change them every 2 days i love to air dry sheets and duvets they smell of sunshine and feel great on the bed

SydneyB · 08/06/2009 19:14

Ours every 2 weeks. Kids when they look like they need doing... DS is still in grobag so sheet lasts quite a long time. DD, when it looks grubby but prob every 2/3 weeks. We all have showers/baths every other day at least and don't really see the need to do the beds more often than that unless absolutely necessary. Washing maching going too much as it is!

SOLOisMeredithGrey · 08/06/2009 19:27

Does anyone else use a top and a bottom sheet with a duvet? I get asked why I do this, but I don't feel the need to wash the duvet cover very often as it doesn't get very dirty, so they don't fade...

Goober · 08/06/2009 19:27

Every 2 weeks, but pillow cases every week.
