I iron hama beads as well

plimple · 03/06/2009 13:39

None! I buy clothes with this in mind knowing if they'll need ironing they won't get worn! It really surprised me when I saw my DD playing with an iron at toddlers as I couldn't think how she knew what to do with it.

Egg · 03/06/2009 13:40

I actually threw our iron out the other day. It hadn't been used in about 6 years.

I guess I may have to start ironing when my children reach school age .

Monkeyandbooba · 03/06/2009 13:40

No I don't iron either unless it is something for a special occasion and I look ok... I think...

docket · 03/06/2009 13:41

I never iron. Can't stand it. Too mired in other domestic drudgery to give myself that to do as well!

chocolatefudgebrownie · 03/06/2009 13:47

I don't iron, as I hate it and see it as a pointless exercise! My irons a shirt if he has to meet a client at work and that it all! Life is too short to iron.

herbgarden · 03/06/2009 13:47

No
Only if going out. DH irons his own top each morning but it's not a "scheduled" chore in my life. I hate it with a passion.

othermillie · 03/06/2009 13:47

Nope, no ironing for me either. Everything comes out of the machine, has a good shake and goes on the airer. I rely on gravity to pull out the creases and then its back in the wardrobe until its time to wear it. Ironing board has been relocated to the shed! Life it too short!

annoyingdevil · 03/06/2009 14:41

I don't either. (unless there's a party or other special occasion).

yappybluedog · 04/06/2009 09:03

blimey, you are all slatterns sensible people

jellyshoeswithdiamonds · 04/06/2009 11:28

Ahem seriously outnumbered here ..... but aren't you all really crinkled/crumpled looking? Doesn't it bother you? I'm not judging just curious.

Last thing I ironed was five months ago....DH's hired cravat for our wedding. I burnt it. Fortunately his waistcoat hid that bit and it was insured!

Some people (me) just shouldn't be allowed near irons. I just shake/stretch/smooth things out before they go on the line or on a hanger to dry. Some fabrics just don't wrinkle as much (all DH's good shirts are 'iron-free') and we don't have many items that look dire without ironing--they don't get worn!

pigsinmud · 04/06/2009 11:43

No never iron here.

Dh occasionally irons a shirt for a concert... but then he only irons the front as dj jacket covers the rest!!

saintmaybe · 04/06/2009 11:45

what is this 'ironing' of which you speak?

LittleMammaTo2 · 17/06/2009 14:20

Better things in life to do than iron! Blame my mum - she is obsessed with ironing and cleaning which has forced me to be the complete opposite.

Maybe iron 4 things a year...

schilke - love your DH's ironing technique - am going to def share that one

hamstring · 17/06/2009 14:51

I can't cos i'm left handed!!

MummyDragon · 17/06/2009 14:54

No, I don't iron. What a waaaaaaaste of time.

MayorNaze · 17/06/2009 14:55

i do not iron! retired from the sport when expecting dd due to anemias and low bp = fainting if standing up too long.

fold clothes up and put away as soon as they are dry and dh irons his own shirts!! if you hang shirts on the line already on hangers then tbh i don't think they need ironing.

ironically (ha!crappy pun), i usd to trade baskets of ironing for meals at uni

will now read thread and discover this is Not The MN Way

FrontRowFig · 17/06/2009 14:55

ooh you slatterns

bet you all look terrible

MayorNaze · 17/06/2009 14:57

hooray we are all lazy sluts intelligent people with better things to do!

will i be ostracised though if i admit that i fold pants??

Bibithree · 18/06/2009 19:07

I was once told ...
Why do my clothes need to be flat? My body isn't.

PuzzleRocks · 19/06/2009 19:01

Wow, it's not just me. I haven't ironed anything since I wore school shirts.
I just wear very very slutty tight clothes. No wrinkles.

cheesesarnie · 19/06/2009 19:03

i dont own an iron or ironing board.waste of space and time.

cheesesarnie · 19/06/2009 19:03
