  • Use your calendar

Our day should try to consist of:

Morning routine:

Up and dressed and shoes on (if that helps you like it does me!)
Look at your posed reminders
Read 2 minutes of reminders
Recognise your negative voices and change them
Put out your hot spots for 2 minutes
Mission

Before bed routine:

Shine your sink
Delete any flymails

Another morning from hell in the making.
But everyone went in the school gates smiling, thank goodness. Ds1 mislaid one of his shoes at last moment! Both dts did not finish their homework completely and were screaming about it. Dd wanted to count all the pennies in her moneybox at 8.30 aargh. Dh got fed up with everyone and everything...

Good news
ds2 despite his obsession with TNG seems to be very interested in architectural construction and was telling me about the pillars holding up St Paul's Cathedral (school trip yest).
Ds1 practised his violin beautifully this morning
Lunchbox made efficiently with dd's help.
Got dressed first thing.
House seems cleaner and tidier to the casual observer.
Someone at school gate told me I looked thinner.
Supper is prepared - soup for dh
pizza dough for kids from freezer

To Do
off to work now for the morning
buy underwear for ds1 this afternoon
pick up parcel from post office
read book club book obscure french thriller (one of our group is French - tho in trans luckily)
Book club this evening at friend's house.
Assemble scout stuff for tomorrow's camping trip, and see if anything needed - TORCH needed.

Aw swan Today can only get better. What time was ds1 up this morning to be able to practice violin? I play violin and am teaching dd2, dd3 and dd4.

prof GO GET YOUR CAR SCRATCH FIXED!

Did that help?

Our car has a chip in the windscreen and have been nagging dh for months to take it to autoglass - the chip is now expanding to a small crack

Calendars! I do write things on them, and then forget to look at it
We have a big one in our kitchen, and I just get bored writing all the things we do week in week out(impossible to forget LOl), and can always remember the "specials". But as specials increase, and we are more adventurous and more sociable, I think I will have to be firmer.

gibbberish · 30/04/2009 09:47

lol I do the same. Have to book every appt on my mobile with an alarm because I forget to look at the calendar.

O gib, that must sound very sweet all together! I can't play at all, only listen and decipher notes.
Ds1 did his practise at 8.20 . He gets up at 7.45. reads reads reads, get dressed, reads but like his mother not v. organised...
BB this evening.

grouchyoscar · 30/04/2009 09:58

Hello All old and new alike

I've been a bit very busy and had no time to log on so I've been missing. Thought I better pop in to say HI and give a Grouchy

Hope all are well

gibbberish · 30/04/2009 10:04

Hi grouchy

swan It doesn't sound sweet all together - more like a car crash rofl. Give them all a few more years though and perhaps it will resemble something more harmonious...

Right getting off here now to sort out the girls, who are currently still lounging around in pyjamas

Morning everyone - the sun is shining here although I've sent my two off to nursery dressed for colder weather as I thought the sunshine was over! Eternal pessimist.

Thanks for your enouraging words yesterday. I am pulling my socks up and FLYing today. DP took children off to a restaurant and I went to bed for an hour and felt much better. A break always helps.

Lol at calendar. I've got the biggest one on my wall I could find AND an organised mum diary - but I'm still useless. I managed to turn up for the theatre last week 10 mins late for a performance and then found out I was in fact a whole day early! at myself!

gibberish - poor you with a house full of garage stuff - I think that would finish me off!

swanriver - manic mornings eh? My first start school in September so I'm still a slacker as far as the morning start is concerned. Love the idea of children who read and play musical instruments in the morning though - very inspiring!

ProfiteroleT sorry to hear your dd is not feeling well. Hope it's nothing serious. Allocating tasks to days is the next thing on my list. I'm the queen of procrastination and always end up putting things off.

lol at FLY Cult - I already feel quite zealous about it all and want to convert everyone!!

Grouchy - wave
Okay - House failry in order. Not much cleaning will happen today though as I have the painter here and he's finishing of bits in very room downstairs. More rubbing down and dust!!

List:
Washing on DONE
Breakfast cleared/kitchen swiped DONE
Beds made DONE
Sofa cleaned DONE
Bins emptied and main bins out DONE
Cat litter tray DONE

To do:
Shower
Swish and swipe bathrooms
Write and place advert new staff at nursery (I'm on the management committee)
Big Shop - don't forget onions!
Sort out mounting bills and work out order of urgency (we're pretty brassic atm!)
And half the list from yesterday which didn't get done!

Tortoise · 30/04/2009 11:20

Morning all.
Still lacking motivation! Will just mark this off as a bad week i think!

DD1's party bears turned up just after 8am. So we quickly wrote out invites and she can give them out today. One very happy DD1!.
Prof Did you have a little satin star with each bear? What do you do with them? Love the bags they come with to take them home in!

Walked down to the vets earlier to pay off some of the bill. Weather is rubbish today. Showers and dull and cloudy.

Will attack the front room i think. If i can get off my bum!

TheMadHouse · 30/04/2009 11:37

tmhhope ds2 is ok? good luck for consultant appointment.
swanslimmer is always good despite your bust morning with dc's. you sound very organised.enjoy book club tonight.
tortwow that was quick for bear delivery.I don't think weather helps with motivation?
prof hope dd is ok & school can sort out SATs. Wise words I always do things on days that suit me too. Even if it doesn't fit in with fly regime/other people.
laura good luck with your list. don't be too hard on yourself if you don't achieve everything in one go.

Tortoise · 30/04/2009 12:31

Blimey EHM You have been busy. Totally puts me to shame.

EHM · 30/04/2009 12:33

swan we would stay in house if it wasn't for schools, until we found a house we really liked. must apply this sept so must be in house in right area for preferred school. I've found this report Analysis of Primary School Allocation Jan 2009

which has helped a great deal. It means I visited schools, which we have a better change of getting into, except a few which I just wouldn't touch with a barge pole even if we could get in

EHM · 30/04/2009 12:35

tort i've been bad flyer of late with all the decluttering. so I wanted to do before we go to my parents tonight until monday.then its all nice to come home too.

EHM · 30/04/2009 12:38

grouchy hope you are ok?
Has anybody seen wendy about?

right off to pack for dh & i.

Tortoise · 30/04/2009 12:41

Well, my front room looks a bit better but a long way of being properly tidy. Wish i had more room to put stuff.
I think i need to sort DD's room again. Not that they have room for much either!

scattyspice · 30/04/2009 12:53

Hi all.

I think Wendy said she would not have internet in her new house for a while .

Swan - your mornings always sound very productive. Mine just lol about watching TV .

Good news about the bears Tort.

Today:
Out for tea as 10yr aniv today .

TheMadHouse · 30/04/2009 13:33

EHM Are you sure it is september? It is Feb here and we get the results in April. well done on the list bytheway - are you travelling up on Sat?

OK - Consultant said everything is fine. The pain is musular and also due to all the deep scar tissue and is to be expected and will be with me for a while. I need to regularly massage oil into the areas.

Also the scaring is very pink as I am very pale.

I am going to arrange for a bra fitting over the next couple of weeks.
