TheMadHouse · 20/04/2009 07:52

Morning all

Hope that this morning isnt too bad for everyone being the first back at preschool and school.

Right I am babystepping again, but going to do two a day, feel free to stop me or join in if you like (I will just tyoe to myself)

shine your sink The great foundation for fly - if we have shiny sinks then anything and everything is possible.

get dressed and be off with you lace up shoes. I and many others dont get the shoe habbit, at least not until we leave the house. But by getting dressed Fly means doing amy make-up you wear and also your hair.

I am going to try and follow this principal during school weeks and not come down unless I am dressed and sone.

scattyhave a good day.

pack lunch made & spoke with sister & mum. My sister is at my Mums for a few days.

Will try & get back before we head off to the farm.

swanriver · 20/04/2009 09:26

Today is ds1 9th Birthday! slightly lost in amongst getting everyone back to school...but we will unwrap presents when he gets back this afternoon (actually I have to dash out and buy some) apart from a Simpson's teeshirt and some cards from his brother and sister!
He's been so sweet in holidays, only occasional hissy fit /punchup with siblings, just tagging along with the older cousins, reading Horrendous Haddock and singing little ditties to himself. He's only just started being interested in LEGO so I might buy some for him!

Mopped floors last night when light was dim so didn't get so bogged down with the detailed inspection of various horrible grimy marks - so this morning do not have to think about anything lower than the worktops. Well, apart from carpets.

Today
SINK IS SHINY from last night
GOT DRESSED first thing

Work this afternoon
so this morning

ring dentist
Make beds five mins
hoover playroom and stairs 20 mins
bleach loo, scrub bath 10 mins

then to shops
presents
shop cake

locate summer uniform (so far have only found two polo shirts both without buttons and long white socks for dd
luckily not compulsory till MAY

What's for dinner - something special that ds likes...???inspiration will strike when I'm out.

TMH - food, laundry, tidying, but don't do strenuous "running up and down stairs" cleaning. Dcs and flt are exercise enough.

That's lovely that work friends have similar aged dcs EHM, enjoy farm.

EHM · 20/04/2009 09:34

Swan hope your ds1 has lovely birthday very exciting to come home from school & have pressies to unwrap. He sounds like a lovely little lad.

swanriver · 20/04/2009 09:53

Not so little EHM ...very tall (but handsome)

galen · 20/04/2009 10:02

Morning all

Got back from Ireland late last night, after horrendous 13 hour journey (car 3 hrs, ferry, car 5+ hours ) All DC were totally fed up and exhausted. DS2 was sick...

DC enjoyed the visit - well first part was best. lots of fun with cousins etc... and the weather was even lovely so we got to go to the beach a couple of times which they loved.
It was very hard when FIL came home from hospital though. DS1 is REALLY upset having seen him. Still I think it was better for them to get to see him one last time...hope so anyway.

Everyone was so ehxhausted and emotionally drained today that we have kept DC at home. Will just chill today (well DC will !) and I can catch up on 700 loads of washing etc....

Thanks to FLYing though I left the house in a decent state so that was good to come back to. even got all PE kits etc ready before we went so fairly sorted for tomorrow back to school....

Hoping everyonme is OK...will catch up on threads in a bit.
Is it just me or are all the messages backwards today...either I'm going mad or PC is playing up if not LOL

BBL ladies

galen · 20/04/2009 10:02

Oh Ok message snow back in order.... maybe going mad.... who knows LOL

TMH That is a big list. Take it easy won't you. Glad to hear you sounding more positive.

EHM Enjoy the farm.

Scatty Have a good day.

Happy Birthday to your DS. My DS1 loves his lego. I just wish the sets were a bit cheaper so i could buy him more.

Galen Glad you mostly had a good time.

Beautiful morning here. I need to put the 2 loads of washing out in a min. Very quiet with kids back at school.

Have watered grass seed and that is all since getting back from school run and dog walk!

House is a pig sty so i really should get on! BBL.

Tortoise · 20/04/2009 10:22

x posts Dyls .Hope you get everything sorted for the party. Is it a big party? DD1's 5th birthday in May. She wants a few friends round and build a bear things! Need to sort that very soon if i decide to go ahead with it.

TheMadHouse · 20/04/2009 10:34

Hello again all

Swan Happy birthday to a big DS from TheMadHouse and all that sail in her

EHM Dont worry that is for the week and I have collected mumf for the ironing part, so my daily list is not that bad

I have

Found parasol for table and put up with mum
Took the shade off the sandboat and broke two of last years rakes moving it, so that it dries a little for DS2
Watched some Peter Pan with DS2 and made him eat something
Emptied the dryer

I managed the shiny sink last night and the getting dressed this morning.

galen Sorry that the journey was horrendous, I am sure it wasnt made any better by what you were leaving behind. Enjoy today as a family in this wonderful weather.

[sneaks guiltily in side door having been lurking then absent for far too long]

Would love to repeat baby-steps x 2 - thank you very much for thread Mad House, it's a great idea post-Easter holidays - and as it happens I am tackling the master bedroom today anyway

Swanriver - happy birthday to your ds1 - he sounds achingly gorgeous

Wow Galen - am impressed about your pe kits being ready BEFORE going on holiday - now that's the sort of thing I aspire to do

Hello to everyone else!!

TheMadHouse · 20/04/2009 10:39

I am hoping more people join us, maybe tomorrow - it seems loads of people have inset days today

OP posts:
dylsmum1998 · 20/04/2009 10:40

tort am expecting about 10 2-3 yr olds. its her 3rd birthday so not planning major activities thought some dancing pass parcel and eating time should take up most of it. party is at my mil so i need to prepare as much as i can at home then take it to hers to get it all set up, also need to go over the day before to child proof her house
build a bear sounds a fun party

am totally fed up just had a letter from council (am on housing list) to say they have reviewed how the system works and i have been dropped to band c, am gonna be in this horrid flat for ever

swanriver · 20/04/2009 10:46

I'm glad you kept everyone close today, Galen, poor you sounds very very difficult not least worrying about your ds1 feeling bad about his grandpa
I remember that ferry well, and the hanging around waiting to get on and off. As kids we used to get the boat from Liverpool to Dublin which involved setting off at 4.am from London with a yowling cat digging its claws into the driver (my Dad)on the motorway. Once the cat escaped from the car and hid under the service station portacabin in the middle of nowhere and my Dad kept saying (all too eagerly in our opinion) we will definitely have to leave the cat, or we'll miss the boat! Luckily we lured her out. We always had a special treat at service station of sausage rolls with vinegar , our idea of a great delicacy which we never had at home.

swanriver · 20/04/2009 10:49

Dylsmum sorry about the council, and the flat getting you down. Still loads of time for party preps though, I speak from experience of last minute frenzies, and they don't need much food really, you will find...
The parents will eat most of it.

Tortoise · 20/04/2009 11:01

Dyls Sounds fun. They really won't eat much that age. Sorry about the council. No point me even applying because i know they think we are in a big enough house! 3 bedrooms 4 kids. DD's have started getting upset at not having any space to play in their room and i don't even have a room! DS's have a room each. They just couldn't cope in a small room together. Before they moved us 4yrs ago, i had 4 kids in a two bedroom upstairs flat!

Washing is out.Next load in the machine. Can't hang that out until 1st loads are dry though.Ran out of pegs!

Now need to tackle the front room!

TPT, this year it will be ds's turn to have a delightful shopmade cake. He is the lucky winner of the defeated mother lottery.

I cheated a little with DS1's cake. I made the cake but bought a cake topper off Ebay to decorate it.

MUST STOP LOOKING ON MN!!!

Countingthegreyhairs · 20/04/2009 11:22

Oh MadHouse - I'm sorry to be so rude - Profiterole's post has reminded me that I must have missed your operation while I was absent from this thread. It was a very brave step and I'm so glad to see that you are well on the way to recovery. "Chapeau" to you!
