Greyskull you have trumped my non-link thread. Shall we use yours?

BiancaCastafiore · 01/04/2009 09:34

Congrats on the thread Geryskull
How's your ds this morning, any brighter?

Love and thoughts to TMH as always x

I have a busy day catching up with everything house-related. I seem to be getting in to a pattern now with my Weds and Fridays free for domestic stuff and tend to focus on downstairs and general laundry on Weds and upstairs and bedding laundry on Fridays...it's going OK so far but Wednesdays are the worst as the house always suffers badly over the weeknds and then has to wait (and get worse!) until I get the chance to blitz it on a Wednesday.

I've been invited on a girls night out this evening which is nice but my anxiety has kicked in a little as it's in a town about 10miles from here...hopefully I'll be OK, it's very nice to be included in teh invite as I've been feeling a bit out of the loop with a lot of the mums lately

Off to get the duster/hoover/mop out.
See you all later x

wendyrednoseredhair · 01/04/2009 10:16

hello all
Very busy day yesterday, just the usual Mummy things like playing and ferrying etc but then went to Ikea Hell last night at 6 (grandparents came over and put chilcren to bed) and back at 9pm - was actually nice to be out with dh ( that a trip to Ikea counts as out!) and we eyeballed some stuff we need for the new house, got catalogues etc and bought a few bits and pieces.

DS fell and bashed his head this morning en route to nursery, a graze on the forehead. He was crying when I left but was adamant he wanted to stay - am worried, but guess they would phone if he's not ok (don't think they're that observant tbh, they have 26 kids between two of them though so it must be difficult to observe anything)

We have exchanged contracts! Def getting keys on Friday. Prob move into the house in about a fortnight's time. We may as well clean it and do bits and pieces and move in slowly as we have until 10th May in this rented house. So I haven't started packing yet - well done the odd box! I have packed two boxes though of 'things to take immediately' like champagne glasses, mugs and a kettle lol! Need to pop to shops to buy champagne today or tomorrow - never having done this before I'm hoping what I buy is ok - anyone any tips on good champagne (I don't like the dry sharp stuff!). Why am I thinking Prof is going to help with this?!

Mad thinking of you lots
BBL and will say hello individually need to dash, lots to do today in the house like mounds and mounds of washing to sort out, vacuuming upstairs etc.

Ahhh this is where you all are !
Excellent news on the house wendy Am not too sure about champagne, I like it but can't really justify the price except for very special occasions .. but heck a new house is a VERY special occasion .. they do loads of taste tests and I'm sure I remember a Sainsburys own label coming top (this may well have been years ago so obv the vintage would have changed making me saying this a complete waste of time)

Hmm will have a think...

Anyhoo enough babble I have

hoovered landing
De fluffed stairs
Wiped yoghurt off sofas
Cleaned en suite
Cleaned downstairs loo
Sorted kitchen
Pegged out washing

Am off to do a "28 items in wrong place put them back where they should be frenzy" (this is my personal fly lady version I am tempted to copyright it)

BBL

sagacious · 01/04/2009 11:53

Tesco premier cru or verve cliquot (according to one mn thread)

galen · 01/04/2009 12:10

Wolfcub · 01/04/2009 13:09

afternoon all (.)(.) wendy veuve cliquot or laurent perrier( the rose laurent perrier is nice from what I remember). Don't buy Moet it's naff and overrated. Lansom(n?)Black Label also very nice. Mind you a good cava is just as nice if not nicer.

grouchy sorry dp is sick, it seems to be going round at the moment

swan I am dying to know what a pleated jellyfish is

bianca enjoy your girly night out I understand the anxiousness though

greys=kull thanks for the thread

Waves to eveyone else

done
bed made
quick living room and kitchen tidy
wm unloaded reloaded and on
dry washing from td folded
ds taken to granny's

have a fundraising meeting straight after work tonight so might not have time for much else today.

EHM · 01/04/2009 13:09

book marking for later. had busy morning. Now out for the afternoon with dd to local farm/softplay.

TMH thinking of you as always.x

swanriver · 01/04/2009 13:34

Brut Laurent Perrier is what Dh buys.
Ikea is hell isn't it, except for breakfast, it is just too vast.

Done three different kinds of recycling runs (ch sh, friend and dump)

pleated jellyfish is a crimpeline form of crafting with dangly bits, to hang from ceiling

Dd is exhausted again, and wrapped in blanket. She seems fine then collapses again. Hope she's not running around at pickup or poor Librarian will shoot me as I've now missed three volunteer slots in a week.

swanriver · 01/04/2009 14:03

Sorry Wendy, skim reading again, see you had a nice time at Ikea after all.
EHM have a great time at farm (Odd's Farm perchance? still haven't dared drive there, but kids have been with their school)
You sound much better Sagacious - love the 28 method.
Grouchy enjoy Lear. I remember doing QW's Hat as a school entertainment..I always think of that line "Did you Ever See A Place So Charmingly Airy?" from QW as a positive way to view draughts.
