everyoneelseHi

Thanks fro all the kind messages yesterday ladies! Feeling better today - Ds is bounding around with as much recklesness/enthusiasm as ever so obviously no lasting effect from his fall LOL I guess these things do just happen from time to time - had to pop to shops again this am to get stuff I forgot yesterday in all the cafuffle (not sure thats a word LOL) But did NOT put DS in a trolley - opted for buggy and basket instead!

Going to try to do nice stuff today - gardening and baking hopefully!
Want to make a cheesecake for pud for me and DH tonight...
Lovely and sunny here too ( although cold) so wil ltry to get out in gardenasap
Also to do:
Clean washing away - lots
MOP FLOORS (really seriously I still havent done them - i am sooo bad!)
Quick dust and hoover if time.

Right really must get on and not sit on here all morning!
Have good mornings all!

swanriver · 06/03/2009 10:32

Galen - is it er kerfuffle, but it is definitely a WORD. one of my faves. Dh is German and used the word "peccadillo" a few days ago, pronouncing it so so strangely with a lilo in there somewhere, having only ever seen it a novel and never spoken it aloud before. English is a strange language...
He loves cheesecake

bella29 · 06/03/2009 10:37

galen glad you're feeling better. ds had a habit of falling out of everything at that age

mad saw your post on FB Hope you're taking it easy !!!

ehm thanks for the thread

swan you seem very organised !!

ruby I might nick that idea for our school fete (we have a dearth of teddies)

I'm feeling better today (seem to have had flu for a whole month) so I have until 2pm to make some headway on the house (it hasn't been cleaned properly for that month )

Will be back [arnie style]

EustaciaVye · 06/03/2009 11:40

Morning all.

V happy as just found dress for family wedding in summer. And have been carrying helium ballons around all morning

Ruby - has your cheque arrived yet?

swanriver · 06/03/2009 12:11

Paperwork progressing...happily interrupted by phone call from another cousin.
Glad you found THE DRESS EV.
Sagacious can't think of witty Arnie riposte tho.

scattyspice · 06/03/2009 12:36

Hi all.

EHM, bella,swan Hi

galen - Poor you yesterday. I have had many mishapps with mine (esp ds). When DS was about 2.5 and DD 6mnths, DS nearly pulled the trolly over (with DD in it) in Tesco, I only just caught it! he was trying to climb up the outside!

RR that idea sounds great (and ahh).

sag glad your feeling better. My dh has been ill for weeks too .

EV tell us about the dress!

mad have a good day .

To day
laundry
finish house bleugh (its taken all week!).

BBL (hopefully).

TheMadHouse · 06/03/2009 12:45

Afternoon all

I am feeling a bit better now - was a bit pants this morning and then realised I had forgot to take any painkillers first thing and also a little dispondent that I still needed the drains in. Hopefully fluid loss will be less tomorrow. It has only been a week, I need to cut myself some slack.

Sag Hasta la vista baby

EV Let me live vicariously - dress details please

scattyspice · 06/03/2009 12:57

Hello All Galen You are the last person to be a bad mummy, you have 6 dcs and that leaves me in awe. I'm sure we all have a story to tell re accidents with DCs. Ed was knocked down at a junction while we were crossing! I felt totally useless and incompetent.

I am having a day off (I think) I was asked to cover lunch today but I would have been a liability Yep, Boris has got the better of me so he can have today and he can Eff off back to his cage for a while.

Qumps Boris is what I call my multiple sclerosis. It relapses and remits. I'm pretty much in remmission most of the time but occasionally it relapses and I have annoying symptoms.

Boris is on the prowl ATM. I knew something might happen but he's only got my right leg and HE'S NOT GETTING ANY MORE

Been negotiating with the insurance company today. Seems the wrong ed of the stick was grasped and the leak had been disregarded . Got the wheels moving and a plumber is coming this afternoon

I've also

Up washed, dressed and meds
Wake Ed
Empty DW
Put away
Clean out cat cellar (an insurance bod was going to be there)
Sort through papers on kitchen table
Contact insurance co to sort out the claim
File paperwork
Make a batch of crazy choc choc chip cookies.
S&Sing etc

but I'm resting up now and will catch up on the thread

wendyredredrobin · 06/03/2009 13:21

hi all

Been to the hospital for DD's broken finger - it took 20 minutes!!! Am in shock, was in for my appointment early! Dressing is off hurrah! now only need to dress it with hydocortisone at night to get rid of the last bit of that lump of skin. Have some exercises from the physio to do with it too. Phew.

DS dressed as a chef from Pumpkin soup he said for his dress as a story character. Don't know why i worried. there were so many Stephanies, Sportacus, Iggle Piggles, Ben 10s and Fireman Sams. I'm probably being pedantic as usual but wouldn't say they are characters from books! Here speaketh the English teacher!

Off to music pre school class soon - have missed so many in the last few weeks with hospital trips and DC being ill etc that I am actually looking forward to it - although I have to get myself galvinised and get DS's like a bike and DD's push along trike out to walk there. Lovely day here.

To do
Brack to make
Flapjacks to make
what's for dinner - dc?!
Hummous for date night dinner to make
tidy up
craft activity with dc
wash up from lunch

swanriver · 06/03/2009 13:49

yes, wendy, not that many book characters at our school either think that was why dd got a small prize for being an Enid Blyton character dressed in her normal clothes , rather than a princess. What a great idea to be chef from Pumpkin Soup.
About to despair over a knotty paperwork problem, (well done Grouchy)but think I can juuust about sort the problem out. I knew there was reason I was avoiding it. It is as bad as I could have imagined, but no matter how much I put it off problem does not GO AWAY so I'll just have to face it.

grouchyoscar · 06/03/2009 13:51

Agree totally Wendy it's a book day fps.

Ed's school aren't doing world book day dress up as it's PJ day for Comic Relief next week. 1st year he was Billy from Billy's bucket, complete with bucket, fish and whale Last year he went as Christopher Robin, with an old style Pooh bear and...He was the only kid not in uniform OOops

EustaciaVye · 06/03/2009 16:10

Link to dress is in my other thread here

Ruby - were you shouting at me?

Mad - how are you doing?

wendyredredrobin · 06/03/2009 16:16

EV £28!!! Gorgeous and a real bargain! I am at a posh hen day in a few weeks (eek! just gobbled chocolate, meant to be losing a few lbs!) and need something for that, then the wedding is Easter Saturday, so i need to go and look soon. This hen day/night is out of control. Posh frocks is one thing but then there is a requirement to have a Radley handbag with you!!! Am I alone in thinking this is ridiculous!! Can you tell I am on my high horse today about everything The hen day has cost a fortune already. £££ for a mini bus to get us all over. Theatre tickets, Betty's for lunch, cocktails and posh meal in Leeds too after the theatre. Outfit, radley bag, shoes etc etc. OMG need to win some money.

thanks grouchy and swan nice to know it's not just me being pedantic

sagacious · 06/03/2009 16:27

wendy I hope your joking about the radley requirement .. is it a themed wedding or something !!!

FWIW I do have a few designer bags but I personally think radleys are very overated .. why would a grown woman want a dog on a bag ??

Well I have sorted out the kitchen and was going great guns (almost Arniefied) but then I've found out my friend is hospital having an emergency scan (shes not been right for a few days and I've been nagging her to go to the drs)Her dh has texted me (he must think i've been stalking her as I've been texting her all morning wondering where she is.. i even went round her house to check on her !)

So thats taken the wind out of my sails somewhat.
