CWWM

Is it worth complaining to Tescos? ASDA delivered early once to me, normally wouldn't have been an issue but I wasn't in, my neighbour accepted the delivery for me. I called to ask why (they hadn't even called ahead as they normally do, if they had they would have known I wasn't in cos I wouldn't have answered) and ended up with a free delivery voucher

Thanks for the congrats. It's a bit of a step down, I'm going from 32 hrs to 16, but I'm a temp and was no longer needed in my old position, so have moved to a different dept, differnt job, less hours. But it's a lovely team and it's still a job, and in this climate I can't afford not to accept anything offered

LonelystRessedandBlue · 28/02/2009 19:01

JKS

I can get in the window, if I can find someone with a full length ladder. It's actually the biggest bedroom that I have converted into a playroom/dressing room, and thus is on the 1st floor. Am not sure even if I attacked the hinges the door would come out. Have just spoken to my x and he reckons if I unscrew the door handle it should free the lock (cos it is that bit that is stuck, can push the handle down but the catch isn't releasing to open it). Am worried if I do it and it doesn't work than I will be left with no door handle whatsoever, but then as it isn't working anyway I may just go and have a try.

Hows the sleep thing going with ds1?

PlumBumMum · 28/02/2009 19:10

My Bed changed done

JustKeepSwimming · 28/02/2009 19:18

Plum - well done

LRB - if it's not working at the mo, you may as well unscrew the handle from your side and see what happens...you may need to get in and unscrew the handle from the other side too, leaving you with a door with a hole in, which would be ok until you get a new handle.

sleep, not great. 5.30 today.
makes me want to scream and shout and bang my head against the wall and swear and.....

boys to bed not quite as ds1 mucking about

LonelystRessedandBlue · 28/02/2009 19:51

Break into playroom (door jammed shut, any good ideas???) done

Who'd'a guessed it? My xp can have a good idea occasionally! Am in, had to take door handle off and use adjustable spanner to twist the thingy that moved the catch to open the door (IYGWIM) Me and ds now under strict instruction not to shut the door until I can get it looked at (adds to repairs list for HA to do).

JKS, is anything happening in/out the house at that time to wake him? Ds (7) sleeps til 6.30 onwards here, but at my mums is nearly always awake at 5.30. We think it is either the heating coming on or someone making a noise outside that is disturbing him.
If he had a bunny clock, or similar, would he understand that if he wakes before bunny does that he has to stay quiet in his room (play with quiet toys, 'read' books etc)? Or do you want him to have the extra sleep?

JustKeepSwimming · 28/02/2009 19:59

Well done on the door!

We've tried 2 different clocks, no luck.
Have changed heating several times, no success.
he shares a room with ds2 (who doesn't wake until much later thank god) so don't really want him messing about in there for long.

yesterday was 5.58, today 5.30.

dunno what sets him off. was in bed slightly later tonight so may help.
though we've tried that before too.
tbh i don't think there's much we can do, just ride it out...

For tomorrow:

  • sort laundry
  • ironing
  • breakfast x 6
  • all dressed
  • parents leaving am sometime
  • ds2 nap
  • activity with ds1?
  • some jobs off list (see below)
  • lunch x 4
  • afternoon activity? bike ride?
  • ds2 nap
  • roast for 4
  • boys bath & bed
  • us to bed early

Ongoing:

  • haircut
  • get disc out of disc drive!
  • find pre-pg-&-bf bras
  • get to 8stone 7lbs (new low of 9,5!)

DanJARMouse · 28/02/2009 22:09

How old is DS JKS? My DDs share a room and we can be up anywhere from 5am onwards.... its a nightmare! We were doing really well until today, had been more like 6.30am but this morning was back to 5.30! Grrrr

Well, everything kinda went to pot tonight, ended up driving DH to the emergency doctors as he was REALLY worrying me. Doc seems to think its a virus, but we shall see. Ive never seen DH like this, and Im scared Im gonna come down with it - happy to keep the crappy sinus thing if it means I dont turn out like DH!

I did however manage to tidy up the kitchen and put dishwasher on while waiting for docs to phone back earlier, so one less thing to worry about in the morning.

Will see if I can muster up a list tomorrow or just do what needs doing.
