DS2 is napping and DS1 is going with DH - so I can get all done.

grouchyoscar · 04/01/2009 12:29

hello

The Xmas decs are down, cards to recycling and...

...I'm in bed . I ended up doing a really deep clean of the front room inc taking down the big fire guard and installing a grille just over the fire itself. It is incredible the amount of grubby cack that accumulates round a big guard. Lots of bending down, getting up, sweeping, mopping, vaccing, washing, wiping and...

...My legs gave up. Boris not hazppy with me and has told me off. DH had to help me upstairs. The front room looks great and Ed has a corner for his homework table and musical instruments.

There is a nice hot bath waiting for me and I can't make it to the bathroom

Better rest up. Got lots to do tomorrow and a few bits to make tomorrow go smoothly.

Hi all
Feeling super tired today, didn't get to sleep til after one last night, half asleep half awake worrying of all things, about having a third baby and having to buy a new car because of it! I'm not preggers by the way, it's just a thought at the minute!
I do obsess sometimes.
Mothers are difficult. Mine is lovely most of the time but infuriating about 10% of the time, which I suppose is ok. You are definitely heroic, Mad for putting up with her because of your boys. I don't know if what you say is true about boys and mums, my dh is close to his mum and they have a very strong bond still.
So NYResolution top of the list has to be GO TO BED EARLIER!
Just about to vac out Dh's car and shine it up inside. He did the outside of both yesterday, and I did mine inside but got too cold, so off to do his now. He is washing the outside windows! He is being good lately, doing lots of jobs and even remembering to do things I have asked him to do!
That's kind Mad about the books, I'm sure it'll cost too much to post them, though! What's happened to our York meet up idea? I'm still up for it!

wendythepositivethinker · 04/01/2009 13:10

Grouchy you have crashed and burned like Galen! Just rest now.
It strikes me how similar all our new year's resolutions are, and how we are all busy decluttering! Flysisters, that's what we all are.

grouchyoscar · 04/01/2009 13:13

Had my bath and I'm taking it well easy for a couple of hours then

Get bags ready for morning
Get Ed's Uniform ready
Do lunchboxes
Make TO DO list for Monday
Shine sink

Thanks for the Boris Reppelant

Watching The Salvager on Discovery and wishing I had that type of heavy duty power tools and gift of vision/ability

clear Christmas Decorations.

Finish thank you letters with DS's

GO You are "Grouchy the Boris Slayer" AKA Wonderwoman! be kind to yourself

You are all amazingly clean and tidy.
I really haven't done anything today except go to church with ds1 and meet various grey exhausted looking mothers all looking forward to sending their children back to school tomorrow! Lovely service about three kings however, particularily lovely with only one child in tow.
DH assembled lasagne with dd, but is a rather a drained mood no wonder, worried about work a classic ny's blueser.
Everyone is now crying whilst attempting to play board game. I am happily washing saucepans avoiding family life.

grouchyoscar · 04/01/2009 14:12

Thought Iwas clean and tidy till I deep cleaned/reorganised the front room

TheNewYearNewMadHouse · 04/01/2009 14:42

Grekskull We got some children otravine for DS2 - as he was the same - it really works. might be worth a try

Swan I am not normally like this, somehing about having DH off and then school starting tomorrow - I just feel like declittering

DH has just come back from the tip via sainsburys and bought me some choc from here to cheer me up - one is entitle Chocolate makes it all better and the other BOCHOX for relief of wrinkling and crows feet, like a pill packet - very funny indeed

Thanks Riby will take a look later

I have hoovered upstairs
made my bed

Next on to hoovering the stairs and grond floor

scattyspice · 04/01/2009 15:03

Hi all.

wolf/wendy/Ruby - like the journal jar and resolutions. I have a book called, appropriately:'meditations for women who do too much'there is a quote and a thought for the day for every day of the year. I try to read one each monrning . It does help keep things in perspective a bit.

Having said that I am todays bad mother having lost my temper with dd in sainsburys She wound up sitting on the floor howling, needless to say everyone in the shop was on her side . Must do better.

dyl Have you been to sainsburys? Thay are selling plastic 3 draw trolleys half price (£7.50) I bought some last yr - marvelous.

swan that was a brilliant summing up of the moodiness of mothers (I agree it usually is a 'default' setting). God I think I'm turning into one!

Grouchy/galen - Pace yourselfs girls! Remember 'a womens work is never done' so don't wait until the house is sorted before you rest (cause it never will be).

Done:
swimming
thank yous

To do:
ironing

BBL

AnneOfAvonlea · 04/01/2009 15:18

Ruby - had a look around the website. It's quite good.

I want a nice notebook to get organised with. I dont want the organised mum one. Any other ideas?

Wolfcub · 04/01/2009 15:41

hello again

Saturday the seventh would be fine with me I'm definately up for meeting up but I'll strugle unless it's a weekend. grouchystill happy to give you a lift if you like

Done

Been to tip
Done huge supermarket shop
Written the menu for the whole of jan _ we will be eating our way through the freezer as we are skint this month and there's things lurking in there that really need eating

wendythepositivethinker · 04/01/2009 15:46

Anne I have the Pukka Project notebook, comes in A5 or A4, with three divider thingies. It isn't lovely to look at but I have stuck my favourite art on the front to make it beautiful! Less than £2 in Asda.

Love to meet up - very exciting - Sat 7th Feb is my only busy weekend on the calendar, though, unfortunately! Any other Saturday is fine I think, sorry! any other suggestions Northern gals?

Scatty I like the sound of that book and also the Journal jar is really growing on me. Don't want perfectionism to take over though and stop me from doing it, iykwim. Knowing me I will want both the jar and journal to look pretty and perfect and will end up giving up because it takes ages.

Have cleaned inside dh's car now, freezing out there! Don't know what to do now. Have played a few games with dc but they are both tired despite naps. What's for dinner? No inspiration really. I am still eating up food from Christmas - my Mum ordered £60 worth of fruit and veg for us from the green grocers for Xmas Day - I ask you. Aubergines, courgettes and avocados really useful for Christmas. See you soon

TheNewYearNewMadHouse · 04/01/2009 15:56

Scatty I like the book idea - where is it from?

How about 21st Feb for meet then.

I have hoovered stairs
Made burgers
Hoover downstirs
Put TD on again
Done snack with the boys

Now for ironing and clothes for tomorrow

That is after a cuppa with DH and the boys

Ambi · 04/01/2009 16:00

Hello, since it's New Years I guess I should jump in again!!!

My house is pretty straight as I've revised my morning/afternoon/before bed routines. Now I'm on here I'm cos I KNOW I should be taking the clothes out of the washing machine - so they're not mouldy instead of MNing. So I'll go and do that in a bit, I do have some ironing to do so I'll pick a good DVD for that.
