BWB A big hug goes out to you this morning and also to mini bwb. You must be in peices

I have had a night of it. DS2 has just gone back to bed, I think I will be taking him to the doctors. DS1 woke up with all the coughing etc.

I have just had a call from DH to say that although he set off to work, he is on his way back.

We will be waiting in for the plumber

Babysteps Day 8 today:

Morning

  • Get up and get dressed to lace up shoes; fixing your hair and face done
  • Looking at your posted reminders in the kitchen and bathroom done
  • Reading 2 minutes of reminders done
  • Recognizing the negative voices and changing them; YOU ARE FLYing NOW! done
  • Put out your Hot Spots for 2 minutes to do as soon as I can put baby down

Today I want you to find an old three ring binder and just put some paper in it. Then at the top of one page write Morning Routine and on the top of another page write Before Bed Routine all in pencil. This is a working document; do not allow your perfectionism to interfere with the process. Now you can write your simple routines on each page. to do as soon as I can put baby down

Also got to sort out the girls' bedroom and spare room after our massive move around on Tuesday - was out all day yesterday and mum's here today so should be able to get it done!

AnneOfAvonlea · 04/12/2008 08:01

Morning all. DD2 improving. I have to stay in for boiler man so am going to be intesively flying today

ludaslovinallthelights · 04/12/2008 08:03

Morning All

Hugs for you here as well BWB TMH good luck with the plumber today.

Well done with those babysteps lindenlass Bianca HIYA poor you with all this work! Hope everything is ok

Well I am waiting in this morning for someone to come and collect my pushchair. I freecycled it to make some space!

I have also started de-cluttering/toy culling in the kids bedroom. So far so good but can't really get it done properly until the kids are at school.
So that is today's mission for me!

ludaslovinallthelights · 04/12/2008 08:03

x-posts....morning anne

wendycarolsinger · 04/12/2008 08:20

Good luck with boilers and plumbers Anne and Mad

Big hugs BWB

Keep nursing all those poorlies. I woke with a terrible sore throat and ear ache but ok otherwise - hoping it's just a virus and not tonsillitis that I'm prone to (despite having had a tonsillectomy!)

Very snowy here - how's everyone else's quota? Hope it's still here this aft so I can do the whole snowman and hot chocolate idyll which I've never done before (won't be an idyll round here, probably, unless I lower my expectations).

In fact, I think that keeping one's life happy is all about lowering expectations, in a good way. Gosh that's profound for 8.15. Better get DD dressed and teeth brushed ready for nursery.

Later all

Rain here wendy very of those with snow!!

Can you believe it, just getting kids dressed for school and DS has very swollen glands! Looks like he has swollowed a couple of golf balls HOW COULD I HAVE NOT NOTICED!!?? Feeling VERY bad now
No school for him....will have to ring the doctors as soon as I've dropped DD1 off.
Poor boy, he has only just got over a throat infection

Gosh he can't even move his head to the side!! I feel very bad Mind you he hasn't complained at all!!!

TheGarishlyTwinkleyMadHouse · 04/12/2008 08:32

Anne Snap, although I am sure that they will use the snow as an excuse not to come

Linden Well done

Luda Waves

DH is back home and I have a doctors appointment for DS2 - will have to walk in the snow though

OP posts:
intravenousmulledwine · 04/12/2008 08:58

Morning all.

Luda Swollen glands can be easy to miss. My friend didn't notice her DS had mumps until she sat him on the kitchen worktop to get him a drink and realised he had no neck! Unless you're on a level with them can be v hard to spot.

BWB My neice is missing a front tooth and you really do forget that it's not there. Hope you're feeling okay this morning.

Fingers crossed for all the plumbers to turn up.

Had a really busy day yesterday so planning to get back on track today. Morning routine done (IVMW preens)but need to do the shopping list for this afternoon, clean dining room windows and finish writing the Christmas cards. Off for coffee with a friend at 10 so better get cracking.

BellaKissedSanta · 04/12/2008 09:08

Get well soon all x

Jas · 04/12/2008 09:18

Hope poorly people get well soon.

Busy busy busy here. School Christmassy things are starting, toddler group parties, and sick friends (leaving me doing school run with 5 or 6 instead of 3)

Am still FLYing, and will try and come back and post properly later.

ludaslovinallthelights · 04/12/2008 09:20

Well DS has an appointment at 11am, he looks really odd! like you described IV he really doesn't have a neck! Poor thing.

Ooooooh just noticed xmas smilies!!

Yey!

AnneOfAvonlea · 04/12/2008 09:32

Boiler part hasnt come in. Will now be monday at earliest. Sigh.

BellaKissedSanta · 04/12/2008 09:36

BWB just read yesterday's thread.

My ds did the same when he was that age and my dentist left the tooth in. It did discolour slightly but not much and his adult tooth (which came in at 4, but more usually at 5 I think) is absolutely tip top fine!

As I understand it they prefer to leave the damaged milk tooth in place if they can because it helps guide the adult tooth into position, and will only remove the milk tooth if it will cause an abscess.

Very best of luck x

A festive good morning to you all .

Get well soon to all the ill ones, big and small.

BWB A childhood friend of mine knocked out both front teeth when she was 5, her adult teeth grew back fine.

Good luck with plumbers to those waiting. We have had no bathroom radiator for a while now as it has sprung a leak, sadly dp is the plumber, God knows when it will be fixed .

Today.

Morning stuff done.
Ironing
Wash out
Wash away
Hoovering
Small shopping list and charity shop
Town for erands (apparently sunny here this afternoon).
Maybe start sorting shelves
Finish christmas cards
Wrapping.

BBL.

bigbaubleeyes · 04/12/2008 10:20

Hello all

Get well wishes for all of those poorly.

I havnt posted for nearly a week. I found this thread last week, went mad trying to get on top of my house (which isnt that big) over a three day period and tired myself out.

I cant seem to find a happy medium in whats a reasonable standard to clean and tidy to - I beat myself up and feel I am not very good - doing things wrong.

At moment my house is:

Tidy - but I know where i have 4 hot spots behind doors etc

Clean - I have swished and swiped and just hoovered LR but upstairs could be done

ONLY two lots of laundry to do

Jobs to do:

Clean n tidy kitchen cupboards
Scrub oven - its a disgrace
Ironing - I kid you not 4 baskets

Christmas cards to write
All presents to wrap - still some to buy
Christmas cake to bake
Tree and decs to do

What is the balanace - I have a DS to look after and he didnt have much of a day yesterday - think I might do soft play.

Am i going mad?n motivation ebbing

TheGarishlyTwinkleyMadHouse · 04/12/2008 10:43

I think that it is a balancing act. The boys clean with me and I make time for them each day. I like fly, as it is not all done in one day, which does leave time to get on and do things with the boys.

Plumber is here and doing his stuff

Doctor said DS2 has a viral thing and also croup. She also said I have the same and need to take things easy.

I have dusted and cleaned the conservatory
Tumble dryer is on

AnneOfAvonlea · 04/12/2008 10:45

bugbauble - follow the babysteps properly. Dont jump ahead and try to do everything. It can work but you have to try not to do everything all at once.

I have managed to hoover downstairs, clean bathroom (superficially) and do ironing so I'm pleased. Off for some cuddles with DD2.

I'm going to DD1's nativity this afternoon. Her first one. I'm very excited.

AndaGrouchyBahHumbugtoyou · 04/12/2008 10:59

Hugs to BWB's minibeast.

and more for TMH's Little men too

Ed's school is shut, the snow isn't too bad in tghe valley bottom where we are but the teachers who have to travel over the hills can't get there so I have a day with Son and Heir (can't believe I'm quoting Morrissey I hated the Smiths!) We have been out in PJs and wellies lobbing slush balls at each other.

FLY wise I have

Made toast
Emptied and reloaded DW
Put away
Shined sink
Looked for a missing CD (really about that, it can't have gone far but....whoosh...It has vanished and I can only get another by going to Liverpool or hassling some people who already think I'm a bloody nutter)

Needed to collect a http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=1500001151&l angId=-1&productId=1500263675 Lego City set from Argos today but FIL is getting it for me.

Need to do the family grocery shop this evening. Swimming is off as we don't want to be The Family Icecube.

Ed will be watching Wow wow wubbzy all day if I don't do something constructive with him so it's was, dress and get the lego box out and re-build some sets (hey, that's constructive

bigbaubleeyes · 04/12/2008 11:22

Thanks Mad and Anne - Since posting I have read a lot more on fly site - I need to be patient and follow the system - I can see how it develops. I am going to subscribe now. Thanks

Mad I am sorry to hear you both poorly - big higs for you both

Anne enjoy nativity

Andaahumbug LOL PJS outside in this weather - hope you find CD.

Happy flying to all

ludaslovinallthelights · 04/12/2008 12:08

Back from doctors,

DS has mumps! he's had his MMR too so fat lot of good that did!
Just hoping the girls don't get it.

Sigh....

Well on with the bedroom clearing....

TheGarishlyTwinkleyMadHouse · 04/12/2008 12:22

Luda Poor DS, he must be miserable wrap him up and keep him warm - poor little man.

The snow is still falling and the plumber is still here - issues with the actuator and the pump now It is getting cold in the house - we have put a heater in DS2's room for his nap.

I am going to crack on with the ironing and then sort the pizza dough for dinner

DH is taking DS1 to Preschool - that is if it is still open

OP posts:
scattyspice · 04/12/2008 12:46

Poor littleluda! I remember having mumps - very painful! Hopefully MMR will mean a milder case .

Snow snow snow here! Just about made it to work but couldn't park in the hospital so have abandoned my car in a snow drift on a nearby street! Hope I can get it out again!

To do:
clean bathroom
change our sheets
DS homework.
Build a snowman
