Thanks guys

DS is snuggled on the sofa, had some Ibuprofen and looks very sorry for himself He is covered from head to toe in a rash now too.

Will keep a close eye on him I think

AnneOfAvonlea · 04/12/2008 13:01

luda - my dd got rubella even though she'd had the mmr. she really suffered with the booster jabs so i think the 1st dose was ineffective on her.

AndaGrouchyBahHumbugtoyou · 04/12/2008 13:41

Spot what is wrong with this statement...

Ed spent this morning on thePC while Grouchy played with lego

yes, well I have resolved the matter now

CD located, cleaned and it plays fine so Don't have to trouble anyone or go to Liverpool nows ( about the 'pool bit tho cos it's a fab city)

might make a soothing something for tea. This snow thing was a joke, it's all gone

Bewilderbeast · 04/12/2008 13:50

afternoon all mini-TMH and mini-luda and any one else poorly hope you feel better soon

Ds fairly miserable this morning, his eyes are puffed up from his conjunctivitis and he looks like a boxer the day after a fight. I gave nursery a list of instructions - don't let him poke tooth, don't feed him anything hard, they are going to think I'm a total nutter.

done
bed made
ds taken to nursery

took us over and hour and a half to get to work, roads were crappy and everyone is driving like a nutter.

AndaGrouchyBahHumbugtoyou · 04/12/2008 13:53

for little Luda too

swanriver · 04/12/2008 13:53

Done
Finished dcs homework
Sent dcs off to school much against their will.
Morning at school researching mountains with yr 6s. Yetis and volcanic rabbits

So pleased it is errand day.
Abandoning ship/Leaving house to buy some food and presents

I must have caught something from you all, as I now have a bad sore throat which is most unusual.

DO DO
Husband's birthday cheesecake for tomorrow
Put out clothes for smart party this evening
Wrap dh present (already purchased)

Luda, I remember having mumps. Poor little one.
Bauble. Once you start trying to clean up its very dispiriting to see all the things still undone, but the whole point of fly is little steps in the right direction. The great thing is not to just think why do I bother and give up. I'm sitting here with the breakfast things in the sink, but I know I can do that in a flash later the priority is to now press on with errands which can't be done when children get back from school.

TheGarishlyTwinkleyMadHouse · 04/12/2008 14:08

I HAVE HEATING - yeh. He has been here all morning and just gone, but woohoo I am a happy bunny

DS2 cant nap - keeps coughing, so in on the sofa with a blaket and in the night garden.

I am going to iron and pop him in his PJ's

bigbaubleeyes · 04/12/2008 14:39

Thanks swan - I am struggling (just got over depression or so I thought) I am writing down jobs as I have done them on a bit of paper so I can see that I am still getting stuff done. I have committed to baby fly steps. My sink is shiney.

ludaslovinallthelights · 04/12/2008 14:40

Yey for the heating mad

I now have a headache
I have tidied the kids room from top to bottom now though and managed to cull 2 black bags of books (on freecycle now) 1 black bag of toys for charity shop and 3 black bags of crap for bin men

Hoorah! I love it when the kids bedroom is sorted and tidy (won't last long I am sure!) makes a bit of space for christmas.

Jas · 04/12/2008 14:58

@ heating for MAD at last.

I've spent the day doing damage limitation as we lurch from problem to problem
I taxed the car (after neighbour threatened to report dp....it ran out 4 days ago!), and while I was out, ds got up into the loft[shock and as dp left him and the ladder unsupervised) and unwrapped all the christmas pressies.

I could just sit in a corner and cry today, but have 4 children to collect from school now.

ByThePowerOfBaileys · 04/12/2008 15:02

great news about the heating TMH

Jas - so sorry to hear things have gone wrong today! hopefully your day improves.

I hope all those who are poorly or who have poorly children have a peaceful/restful afternoon.

bwb sorry to hear about the tooth..

not alot of stuff done today but found out a secret today - my best friend is pregnant after 2.5 years trying they are on a waiting list for fertility treatment and it all happened naturally!!!!

back later ladies

wendycarolsinger · 04/12/2008 15:24

for your best friend Power!

Glad your heating is back Mad and hope DS are ok, and yours, Luda, and anyone else's - lots of viruses and nasty bugs everywhere.

My sore throat still raging. Snow quickly disappeared so no hot choc idyll for me!

Grandma popped in at 12 pm most put out because she wanted to take the children to her house for the whole afternoon including lunch and tea - no warning! I had already made both lunch and tea (FLYING! Don't you just love it!) so invited her to stay for lunch instead. So now I have to cancel painting this afternoon, no worries really, and go round to see her. Why didn't she just phone?! She is retired and hates organising things in advance - guess a lifetime of working to schedule has put her off it.

Done
Made lunch and tea
Washed up three times
Played with jigsaws with DD this morning
Did musical instruments with DD
Played Playdough operation with DS
tidied round (ha!)
Ordered a DVD online for DS (The Snowman, he is desperate to see it after hearing the song on a Xmas CD)

To do
Go to Grandma's
Phone my mum
Tidy up
Washing on and dry
Clean kitchen floor again
Cull those toys! Charity bag tomorrow
Early night! Will I ever manage it?!

Hope you all have a good day with your ill little ones

TMH YAY for the heating

Baubles I live with depression/low mood too. I'm getting there but I'm prone to black black days too. I found making TO DO lists a bit disheartening to start with, so much to do and so little achieved IYKWIM so I stopped that and just did DONE list, more a 'look what I've achieved' rather than 'God look what I've got to do' Kelly would tear her hair out but, things do get done and the house is better than it was 18mths ago.

Going to Tesco to meet DH and do the family shop. Better get a list ready

Ruby Your mum of the year head tells you it's a great creative family activity with a useful end product. Reality bites hard when the kids/house is covered in poster paint and all you have to show for it is extra housework and a mound of colourful papier mache.

Thought the painting was a good idea last week with Ed who decided in the end to 'be a ninja' by smearing himself in black and grey paint all over his arms. Front room, staircase and bathroom also ended up ninja style

Block paints ONLY now on

Hope you're taking it easy Mad

Just eaten two mince pies, that was on top of two helpings of ice cream after veggie crumble! Hmm think I'll be a couple of pounds heavier this week with all the sweet things I've consumed!

Anne hope nativity enjoyable.

Go to Grandma's done
Phone my mum later
Tidy up sortof
Washing on and dry done
Clean kitchen floor again later
Cull those toys! Charity bag tomorrow done
Early night! Will I ever manage it?!

TheGarishlyTwinkleyMadHouse · 04/12/2008 19:29

Wendy I will take it easy if you go to bed early.

Anyway all done in TheMadHouse for tonight and I am having a cut and colour tomorrow at 4.30pm so that is my papmer mission.

I am off to have a bath and a read - new scarpetta book.

Ruby I hope you did it in the bathroom, as you advised me

Groucy My two were ninja bakers - too much backyardigans - DS2 has insisted on being called Uniqua today

OP posts:
AnneOfAvonlea · 04/12/2008 19:51

Thanks guys. Nativity was fab. DD1 was so sweet. I held it together totally until a little girl forgot her lines and started to cry

wendycarolsinger · 04/12/2008 19:53

It's a deal Madhouse, I'll be tucked up by ten which is very early for me

swanriver · 05/12/2008 00:12

DONE
Food shopping including birthday feast
Fairy cakes for school Xmas fair made with dcs
Birthday cards for dh with dcs.
Supper
Dishes
Hoovered playroom
Cousin's Party - quite fun but a bit dark, hostess wanted a flattering gloom but I couldn't really see (or hear) anyone...
Resolved to give better party myself after Xmas. Set date 28th Dec.
Husband says he can wait for cheesecake till Sat.

Goodnight anyone who is still up.
Grouchy I have completely banned HANDPRINTS
although dd still pleads to do them
Wendy I am inspired by your clearout and all the activities you did with your children today.
Bauble I have not cleaned my oven for a very long time. You sound like you have done ALOT so far. I sometimes make big piles of ironing to do, but I've now realised some of it doesn't need to be ironed (under sweaters, jackets etc).
TMH what a relief to have your heating back. I once had no heating with the dcs for two months from Feb to April in 2005. We survived by lighting wood fires in the Edwardian fireplace in one room downstairs. We lived in that one room. Everytime we put on an electric fire elsewhere the fuses blew. We went to bed in several layers. The plumber couldn't come because he caught pneumonia, and then it was very long job, putting a new boiler pipes etc. So WELL DONE for getting it mended.

TheGarishlyTwinkleyMadHouse · 05/12/2008 08:59

thank crunchie
