Morning all

Today we are going to take a look at how the routine developed

Also if you get the fly emails read the bottom line

So our routines should be:

Morning Routine

  • Get up and get dressed doing your hair and face
  • Make your bed
  • Looking at your posted reminders in the kitchen and bathroom
  • Reading 2 minutes of reminders
  • Recognizing the negative voices and changing them
  • Put out your Hot Spots for 2 minutes
  • 5 Minute Room Rescue (pick any room in the house) set your timer and go!
  • Laundry
  • Mission

Before Bed Routine

  • Keep your sink shining
  • Lay out your clothes for tomorrow
  • Put out your Hot Spot
  • Laundry
  • set a regular bedtime and stick to it

Boys to soft play

Find silver edible cake spray
Ironing and put away
Get house prepared for the weekend

So I need to get a shimmy on as I have to collect mum and the boys are not even dressed yet

I'm only on day 2 but my sink is lovely and shiny from last night, and I got dressed before I came downstairs. With four children, one of whom is a baby, I have to get dressed pretty quickly, so might have to start showering the night before. Usually I have to wait for the baby to fall asleep so I can tuck her up in bed and shut the door so the toddle can't get to her while I'm showering . If I'm trying to get dressed as soon as I wake up, I can't protect the baby from the toddler, so showering the night before it is!

lindenlass · 28/11/2008 08:17

Oh yes, have got a parcel arriving before 1pm and then we're all off to a friend's for the rest of t he day. Need to remember to prepare supper before I go out (my usual pre-flylady routine).

bigbaubleeyes · 28/11/2008 08:57

Morning all, thanks Mad

Yesterday i did everthing on my list except take rubbish to tip and bags to garage because it is raining really need DH to help with heavier ones anyway.

I still managed to put a decent meal on table last nite and did a little ironing instead. I feel i have left my bout of depression behind and noticed the last few days I have had more energy, woke up much better. The cartpet man did come and did a great job on living room.

So I have done upstairs very thouroughly over the last two days inc airing cupboard!

Today I will do downstairs so here it goes:

Dress DS (when he wakes he stil asleep now!)
Take DS to nursery - and drop of some rubbish on the way home (not the household smelly stuff by the way!)
Clean downstairs toilet inc paintwork
Clean living room inc paintwork (visible only eek is this cheating?)

Now the above should only take until lunch as they are tidy and there is no 'build up'

After lunch I need to do kitchen - for me this means decluttering and a good sort of cupboards and wiping the doors over.

If I can do this by 4pm then pick up DS I will have finished my spring clean and be on top again huraaaay! cept for ironing

I know you supposed to start with baby steps and do it as you go but I realy needed to get put right and I feel geat now - looking forward to flying routines from tomorrow.

Sorry its long ive found this very theraputic.

Happy flying ladies

morning all

thanks for thread TMH - hope the plumber does the business today and that you have fun at soft play.

may I ask what you want to spray silver?
if it is icing - you can get a great silver by making grey icing and spraying it with pearl spray - it gives an even colour that I don't manage to get with the silver spray.

Hi Lindenlass - good on you for coming back for a second day! did you get the lovely feeling coming down this morning to a shiney sink?

Morning routine done,
the school photo's came back yesterday so going to cut them up and put one in the Christmas cards for the rellies.
Need to get a million stamps from the post office.
Need to post parcel to Canada.. hope I am not to late for last Christmas posting!!!
Must make 15 Advent cones and buy sweeties to tie on the backs for messy play group.

Arggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg I have been searching high and low for my phone to check that all was OK with the plumbers, guess where I found it................................................................................

Under DS2's bed - he told me he put it there to ring Grandma if he woke up during the night.

Before you ask couldnt ring it, as he had taken it off charge and it was flat.

So plumber not ciming till later as they are sourcing parts.

I am going to go to soft play anyway as we could all do with letting off steam.

Washer is on
Morning routine is done

Ruby Nasty isnt it - seems to be going round.

Oh and my migrane tablets work - cost £8 for two and I took both, but I woke without a headache

bythepowerofgreyskull Yes, it felt lovely knowing my kitchen was looking great. I had a blitz on it a couple of weeks ago, apart from the sink and one corner, so flylady really motivated me to do the sink and my horrid clutter corner and now my kitchen is sparkling! I've even got all the veg ready to make my stew later on (can't make it now, the meat is still frozen!) and breakfast for four people and it still looks sparkling. Am finding it really easy to clean up after myself in there now :-)

Baby crying now so all work is coming to a standstill

nuclear · 28/11/2008 10:09

Lindenlass I have to shower the night before too and have a quick wash in the morning.

done
washing on and sorted
kitchen and conservatory floor hoovered and mopped.
cleaned windows downstairs.

DS2 is now napping and I am off to get DS1 and I dressed.

still to do
mission - don't have nay clutter on my dresser so I have stripped our bed and washing the bed linen instead
clean bathrooms.
hoover

going out for a lovely meal tonight with DH so looking forward to that.

Hope you are all well.

LostGirl · 28/11/2008 10:17

Hi everyone.

I have to shower the night before as well. DD2 starts her day at 4am unfortunately so she needs ot be taken swiftly downstairs before she disturbs the rest of the household.

Can't believe what a difference this has made in such a short time.

Done:
washing
hoovering
mission
shopping.

To do:
ironing.

Hope everyone is feeling under the weather improves soon.

swanriver · 28/11/2008 10:23

Feeling a bit frazzled after school dropoff, nearly late again, hairgrips, coats, library books, tucking shirts in, run run run, forgetting lunchbox, returning to give lunchbox and feeling upset about altercation with dd about her 'leaking'waterbottle. The teachers at that wretched gate must think I'm a hysterical wreck, always pushing my children in at the last minute and throwing forgotten things at them. Then I put my semi-professional hat on as school volunteer and seem to have unlimited patience.
Anyway luckily no patience needed today, except with myself I suppose.

Listening to Jeff Buckley Hallelujah.
TO DO.
Breakfast things
I load of laundry
Shopping for fruit and ingredients for three main meals. Lasagne, roast, cider hotpot.
What's for dinner. Vegetable soup prepared yesterday. Baked potatoes, carrot and raisin salad, tuna. Apple pancakes.
Put away train set and hoover boys' room
Mop bathroom floors.
Tidy our bedroom.
READ BOOK CLUB BOOK
Look at non christmas tree christmas stuff in loft. Bring down and put in husband's study.
Plan a craft activity for children this weekend and put everything in a bag or box.
GO

lindenlass · 28/11/2008 10:42

swanriver I think I would explode if I had packed lunches and school runs to cope with - one of the benefits of home educating for us

DontlookatmeImshy · 28/11/2008 11:18

Hello all.

So far I have done most of the morning routine, just need to sit with my feet up for 15 minutes now.

Might have cheated a bit this morning though. Have included doing the ironing as part of the room rescue (utility room) - well i rescued the room from the ironing before it all feel over and took over the room completely.

TMH how frustrating that your plumber isn't there yet!

Hi to lots of names I don't recognise... hope you all have a good day

scattyspice · 28/11/2008 12:45

Morning!

LOL Dontlookatme!

Last night I went xmas shopping so did not do my eve routine consequently this morning I had to scrabble about to find a school sweatshirt for DS, wash up last nights tea things, put yesterdays wet load from washing machine into drier!

The moral is... work those routines!

To day
Lidl
Go to Blockbusters for Kung Foo Panda
laundry

Sat
Woolies (DCs Xmas presents)
School Xmas Fair
Family coming

Sun
go out with dh
ironing

swanriver · 28/11/2008 13:22

Lindenlass that's fantastic that you are home educating. Unfortunately my husband will not let me contemplate. Also for some obscure reason my children seem to like institutional life, perhaps because things are not very organised at home. When I'm volunteering at school I often think how much more children would learn if they were in a 1-1 or 1-4 even setting, and how much less time in the day the child would actually need to do formal work. I think that it is also a myth that school makes you sociable. You can be just as shy after 7 years of primary school as you were to start with.

Meanwhile DONE THE FOLLOWING
Mopped bathrooms
Made beds
Tidied three bedrooms
Maintained clearhallway dealing with any post and chucking most of it.
Put out swimmming things for tomorrow
Resumed school dinner for DS2 (the others already have them) NO MORE PACKED LUNCH Yippee.
Cleared breakfast
Cleaned out freezer without defrosting. Now have frostbite.
1 Load of laundry on
Swept floor of kitchen

Now off to the shops and to return public library books. (Forgot that on original to do)

bigbaubleeyes · 28/11/2008 13:51

Oh too much I'm sie tracked completly looking for extra work online.

Have done DS1 dressed and deposited at nursery

Took rubish to tip

Must start living room - by the power of mumsnet here i come

TheMadHouse · 28/11/2008 13:54

Afternoon all

No plumber till later today - as they are having to go to Newcastle to get the parts, however, I have just spoke to DH and they have told him it will be fixed today even if it is out of hours

Dryer on
Another load in washer

We had a great time at soft play, although it was really cold.

Grekskull I want to do live silver starts for the mini christmas cakes I have done. I am trying to find a local shop that sells it, so I dont have to pay postage

I have also booked the boys in for a hiar trim tomorrow, as DS1 doesnt like it in his eyes when swimming.

Just off to play ion the wii with DS1 - back later
