Back in a minute with some links.

Thank you Jas. I looked for the thread and couldn't find one but didn't feel I could start one. I used to come on here ina previous life and I really need help today.

This is what I posted last night -

I can't stand my house any more.

I need to sort out the kids' rooms and maybe swap them round.

I need to sort out the art cupboard.

I won't have a lot of time as I have to go and collect my new bike and pick up DS2 from playschool but I will have 2 more hours while he sleeps to do stuff downstairs.

I am posting this as I have a really bad headache and will forget.

I am mega stressed too so I need to keep busy.

Our 3 children all have their own rooms. DS1 is 7 and has the biggest room. DD is 5 and has a much smaller one and DS2 is 3 and has a slightly smaller than DD's room. DS1 has complained in the past how he wants to share his room with someone as it is hard to keep tidy, ie he wants someone else to clear it up I told him last night he was swapping with DS2 as he can't keep his room tidy and he said this morning he doesn't want too. Needless to say I am doing what I think best, once I have worked out what it is!

DS1 and DD like sleeping in the same room but I am not sure how it would work if we did it full time. Also I am wondering if there is a time when it won't be appropriate but still feel they are young enough to do so and still sometimes bathe together. If I put the boys in together I am certain that DS2 would wake up DS1 though my older boy is a heavy sleeper so it might work.

On the other hand I wonder if girlie should have the bigger room?

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jas · 24/11/2008 07:56

Set a bedtime and read the eleven commandments here.

If you are doing zones, we are in the master bedroom this week. Here is todays mission]]

Hope I'm not treading on your toes, TMH

DP is working Sadly he is not being paid money, but has nothing else on offer so is working for a van....

I hope all are well. Back at lunch time.

Welcome thenewme

I also have three children (and only two bedrooms) Our current solution is dd1 has the box room....small enough for even the messiest child to keep tidy, and she was desperate for her own space. Dd2 (8) and ds (2) share. She is a very heavy sleeper and ds goes to sleep before dd2 goes to bed, so she gets to play/read at bedtime if she wants to.

It works for us. No idea how long it will last, but as long as dd2 is happy with it, it is the best solution for us.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Read the eleven commandments link this morning, don't start more than one job at once, and welcome (back?) to FLY.

Morning both of you , welcome thenewme.
I am horrified at the state of my house this morning - the front room and kitchen are a disaster zone, the kitchen is okay-ish, but the dining room makes me want to weep. We have just ripped the (ugly) briquette fireplace out and dh has attempted to plaster around the hole left, ready to install a reclaimed victorian one we bought. So I have bare concrete, plaster splodges all over my floorboard, bits of wood, a trowel, painbrush, bucket of water, bags of plaster, bags of sharpsand and a drill with plaster mixer attachment all littering a small dining room... Have a friend coming for coffee tomorrow morning, so have today to get it presentable...

Argh!

Anyroad, will have a read back over the past few days as I cannot remember what I am supposed to be doing

hippipotami · 24/11/2008 08:11

roffle at commandment number 4 - she has obviously not come across Mumsnet

hippipotami · 24/11/2008 08:11

The hall is okay-ish, hall, not kitchen. Kitchen floor is brown (should be cream tiles) with muddy dog and person footprints...

Thanks for the thread Jas
Welcome thenewme and hunnybun
Hello to hippi

Well I am sooooooo ill I actually thought I might die on the bathroom floor last night I can't remember when I was last as poorly as this - v&d just awful

The house is terrible, I am calling in favours from everyone I know to take the kids off my hands to play/to school/for meals

I only brought the laptop up to bed so I could put in an online supermarket shop otherwise the rest of teh household will starve as we have nothing in (I never want to eat again). Ds has taken jam sandwiches to school today

I'm going back to sleep now. Hope everyone else is OK, hoep to be able to get back to everything soon

BiancaCastafiore · 24/11/2008 09:16

Hi greyskull

Bianca oh dear I hope you manage to get some sleep and feel better soon! good to hear people are rallying round to help with the kids.

hippipotami · 24/11/2008 09:24

Bainca You have my sympathies, as you know I was like this about a month ago.

GP siad to continue eating and drinking what ever I wanted and to take imodium, as you can get really dehydrated.

I wish I was closer to help.

I have home blessed the kitchen and most of the rest of the house
taken a delivery - only 4 remaining

I have also put the chicken in the slow cooker (whole) with some garlic and onions. This is a first for me, so I am hoping that it is yummy.

Jas as you say you know we'll ask - why crying in school office? hope all is ok and sending hugs. Thanks for the thread

Mad spill - why the plumber? hope head is better.

greyskull my dc both have coughs as have me an dh - everyone seems to have one, hope yours get better soon

Bianca - can sympathise, had that earlier in the year and didn't eat for 4 days which is so not me. Warm water is good advice and those rehydration sachets if it goes on too long

OP posts:
Jas · 24/11/2008 11:26

Earthworm, the threads are joined after we all kept getting muddled up.

The babystep links are at the bottom, if you started last week doing two a day.

OP posts:
TheMadHouse · 24/11/2008 11:29

This is the thread for both. jas did the links for todays babysteps and I did the routines.

We have had to come home early from Playgroup as they boys were throwing water all over everyone and themselves were soaked to the skin.

I have changed them both, they were blue from the cold and it was hail stoning as we got out of the car. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr nI also need to find a spare pair of shoes for DS1 to go to preschool in as he as wet through.

Anyway onwards and upwards. I am doing their lunch and will feel better once DS1 is at preschool. I

EarthwormFrittataBugEnchilada · 24/11/2008 11:29

Here's a question for the frequent FLYers - do you feel better and less of a drudge than you did before FLYing?

I ask because I've been doing the babysteps again and I remember why I stopped FLYing last time - By doing it little by little it seems that all the housework falls onto me, and DH never notices the daily efforts required to keep the place running smoothly and thus thinks its a doddle, meanwhile my knuckles cracked from dry skin from the constant immersion in water or contact with a cleaning cloth... yes, rubber gloves would sort that but do you get my point?
