I am setting aside today to get back on track.

The whole place is a mess

So its crisis cleaning for me

Cancelling sports day was a good decision. It is pouring down already.

Tort - Try not to be disappointed about lack of summer hol. It would probably be terrible weather anyway!
This way you can go out on the nice days, and save your peniesthe rest of the time for another time.

Jas - it did mention in the papers that this week is awful but next week or so should start to brighten up and into August too. (fingers cross)

Gulp ... have just joined FLY ... am I mad - going back to FT work in just over a week after 2nd lot of maternity leave ... will I cope?

We probably won't get a holiday either this year...dh struggles to get much time off and we have decided to redecorate so that is going to suck up any surplus funds!

Well we decided on the spur of the moment to strip the wallpaper! Landlord said it was fine to redecorate so DH got straight to it!
Living room looks like an explosion in a paper factory though!

My eldest two DC are on their school trip today (luckily it is indoors as it is piddling down!)

DD2 looks like she has slapped cheek virus. She is fine in herself...a bit whingy but fine otherwise....just big red cheeks and a rash down her arms.

Well DH is still asleep as he stayed up until the early hours...I shall make a start on the other wall

What do you think to This
It is just for a "feature" wall (the fire place wall)

It looks better on the roll, the detail is more golden....
The carpet is maroony and the other walls are going to be plain beige and cappucino.
The new sofa is going to be chocolate.
(Hard to explain...I will take photo's )

The old wallpaper is blue and pinky stripes at the bottom and a blue and pinky kind of wash effect on the top (very 80's) but the blue doesn't really go with anything, so we thought swop the blue for chocolate shades...which hopefully still go with the carpet! (can't really change the carpet)

I have put a photo on my profile...shows the current decor...and the kids at halloween!

( I am just asuming people might be interested....so do feel free to ignore my decor rambles!)

Feeling very down today, had some very bad news about a person I know in a professional context, can't go into details but am heartbroken

TMH I just read about your niece I hope she is ok, it's good that she has her family around her at this tragic time

Well it's pouring down today so my list is:

Make beds
Strip paint off bannisters
1 load of laundry to put away
Declutter some paperwork for recycling tonight
Clean 1 kitchen cupboard

Think that'll be it for today

LML Love the photo, we currently have a chocolate style decor, choc curtains and carpet with a sort of cappuccino coloured wall (I believe B & Q called it Brownstone) and DH wants to change for blue!!!

Anyway only thing I've found is it makes the room look a bit too dark for my liking plus choc carpet with 2 cats and 3 dcs is a PITA as it needs a run over with the Dyson every day but does look smart when it's all tiday as we have all oak furniture as well and a light chocolatey 3 piece suite (honestly it does look nice!!!)

I'm a teacher .... and I just shined my sink!

(oh, and I put the dishwasher on!)

Its a really manky rainy day here, is everywhere i think! my dd has a bad eye infection, cant get to docs till 2morrow have a special eye ointment to put on it but dont seem to be doing much good! shes watching backyardigans, ds is eating a rattle (poor toothies!) so am gonna try get some bits on list done as mum is coming round for lunch. then this arvo may just read a magazine an chill out!
