Babysteps Day 5

OP posts:
Shannaratiger · 02/07/2008 07:21

DS decided 5am was time to get up, of course he's now back in his cot fast asleep.

Today have got to rewrite all my lists for each room, we lost them all when computer crashed. They really help to remind me to do all the jobs like cleaning windows and skirting board's behind the furniture.

Also am going to hoover every room and under furniture in living room. Will do all the light switches and doors tomorrow. Next week am going to get back into missions and working in the zone of the week - honest.

Morning all,

Well yesterday I spent the day at my mum's, came home and tidied the bits and bobs from front room and kitchen, arranged our house insurance and mopped and brushed kitchen.

Today, DP has taken DD out so i'm having a few hours to myself (especially seeing as she's had me up most of the night) then i've gotta sort out the Avon and deliver it, clean the cooker, sink and sides in the kitchen.

All ready for tomorrow when I'm decorating DD's room! argh!! lol

Hope your all ok!

scattyspice · 02/07/2008 08:05

Morning all.

Not had much sleep either.

EV DDs arm doesn't sound broken. Should heal up ok (but bruise will probably et bigger first). Hope she ok.

Kitchen a mess as didn't wash up after last nights baking (never mind shine the sink!).

BBL

EustaciaVye · 02/07/2008 08:13

Thanks scatty - DD really isnt bothered by it so am leaving it.

SMS - glad I'm not the only one to reverse into someone

Had a chat with DH last night. I feel anxious all the time. I had felt better coming off the pill but that has maybe lasted 6 weeks. DH is being great but doesnt really know what to do either. I dont know if I am just stressed because of the last 6 months - own business, knee op, cat injured, girls with pox and now car prang. Or if I am depressed. I dont know if I want to go to GP. Would probably sit there blubbing and I dont know if I want to be put on medication. Not sure what to do

TheMadHouse · 02/07/2008 09:16

Morning all

EV Have you tried some st johns wort? It took me a long time to come to terms with my medication, but I need it. I agree it is not a solution for everyone. It does sound as though you are down due to situations though. DO you have someone to talk to?

Shanna Our address is by the sea, but it is a 20 min walk downhill there or a 2 min drive, so I took the car yesterday. I grew up 2 roads away from the sea, but we couldnt afford to live that close. I Love it.

OK - DS2 has the pox too now. Here I was being all smug thinking we had got away with it, but no, so I know how you feel on that front EV

I have done morning routines

Other List

Take DS1 swimming
Order Posy for funeral
Ironing
Hang washing out - DS1 wet the bed
Sort dinner
Get online shopping put away when arrives
ring BT again - see here

We saved some money last night, reduced sky to minimum, changing mobile contracts etc.

rowingboat · 02/07/2008 10:19

Hi all,
so I'm on day 4 now, will pop in later, but it's nice to have a thread to post on .
All I have to do is write down the things I have done, to start my control journal. Sounds scary!
Now off to read my reminders.

littlemissloopy · 02/07/2008 10:21

Morning all

Have got the morning at home to tidy (oh joy)
May have to drive to our nearest big city this afternoon to make a delivery for DH and hopefully pick up Wii Fit {{EXCITED!!}}

LS I do Avon too

Righto gotta dash...

Thanks for all your omments re: tooth extractions BTW....I have actually had 4 teeth out before...to make room for some eye teeth, that needed a brace to straighten out....it was just such a long time ago I can't remeber if it was painful or not, and I seem to remember I was under a general anesthetic so didn't have to endure a needle or a numb mouth!

12 teeth out made me very though I have to say!

Morning all

EV hope you're OK. Feel free to come and chat via facebook if you ever feel the need x
TMH cute pictures!

Lost my temper a bit with the kids this morning I was very pleased to hand them over to school this morning! It's the constant whining, I just can't take anymore!!

I've spent the past hour and a half in the front garden doing some weeding/chopping back
Now I plan to tackle the kitchen and the clean laundry pile which needs to be put away.
Ds wet his bed last night so I need to wash and dry everything (duvet and pillow too).

The school has an open afternoon today so I may go for a potter round an hour or so before pick-up time.

BiancaCastafiore · 02/07/2008 10:28

I'm tempted to see if we can afford a wii as a present for dss birthday....no spare pennies atm though so it seems unlikely

biglips · 02/07/2008 10:31

Bianca - have you got anything to sell to get the wii? as weve got a few things to sell and maybe an xbox 360 as dp hadnt been playing on it for a while now but it may not worth selling it iykwim?

Morning all.
I have to do a big tidy up because babysitter coming tonight. I have to take DS1 to parents eve at the secondry school he starts at in Sept. I went there so it will be very odd being the parent now!

I want wii fit!!

Bianca Agree with Biglips. Find some stuff to sell. Ebay is really worth trying. I spent ages listing again last night. It is the only way we will have any chance of a holiday. Still only a tiny chance though. Plus need to find somewhere for Mickey dog to go while away so thats more £££ needed!
TMH Oh no not more pox! Hope he is ok with it.
Right! bathroom 1st! Shouldn't take long.
BBL

tortoise · 02/07/2008 11:29

Bathroom done.
Kitchen next. That will take a while!

Then i need to clear up front room.
Hoover
Dust
Put washing away.
Tidy DD's room.

This is going to take longer than the time i have i think.

Jas · 02/07/2008 11:51

Morning (just!)

I really should be cleaning, not here at all so a really quicjk post...

EV - I agree SJW may help, and won't cause any harm, so nothing o lose. My only other thought is do you have a nice H/V? Mine referred me for a short course of counselling when I was feeling very low last year, and it did help just to talk about everything to an impartial outsider, so may be worth considering....

I want to get a Wii as a joint Christmas pressie for dp and all three children this year....not sure if I will manage it yet. My only hope is tax credits atm. I think they owe us quite alot and if I can sort out dps final tax return for last year, they will pay up[hopeful that I'm not misreading]

SMS If you can get Oven Mate stuff it really does work, but Tescos don't seem to stock it at all any more. No sure what toxic stuff is in it to get it that clean with no effort. The only other low effort method I have found is soda chrystals.

IF I get the whole downstairs presentable plus the bathroom, before my friends start arriving(1 ish) I'll be back to catch up.

Wish me luck.

littlemissloopy · 02/07/2008 11:54

Just got to the end of my post and there was a powercut, so now I have to write it all back out again!

Um....oh yes.... We have been trying for months and months to get Wii Fit. I went online to Argos yesterday to see if our nearest store had any in yet or any store nearby, but they hadn't. DH tried literally an hour later, and the big Argos in our nearest big town had them in stock (either DH or I have to go there today anyway to make a delivery)...but obviously very briefly, as we reserved one....phoned our SIL who also wants one, and by the time we got back to reserve another, they were out of stock again!

I am treating everyone, with my Avon earnings (tort have you ever considered Avon or the likes?)

Well I have tidied the kitchen, living room and downstairs loo, and vacced throughout.
Washing is in, just upstairs to tidy round and vac now.

tortoise · 02/07/2008 12:16

littlemiss There are a few Avon peeps round here and i would have to walk miles doing deliveries of i did it! Shame there isn't an easy way to get rich!
Maybe i should try the lottery this week!!!!

Washing up half done. Cups take up most of the space! Why do kids need a clean cup for each drink? Suppose i should get back to it! DD2 wants my attention all the time so its taking ages.

LuckySalem · 02/07/2008 12:21

Ok so I'm on a break.
After I wrote on here I went to bed to watch a film "Charlotte's Web" is sooo cool.

Then I got up and have CLEANED the kitchen and re-organised top to bottom, Same with the living room.

I am slowly working through the house. It's the hall next. I'm gonna do our room and bathroom and possibly DD's room if I have time.

It's amazing how much I can get done when DD isn't here!! and it is soooo rewarding.

LML - I am trying to save as much of my Avon money for a hol with the family but dont' think it'll go far as little things keep creeping up that need dealing with.

I really want a Wii too!!

BiancaCastafiore · 02/07/2008 12:23

I don't know what's come over me this week...I can't stop cleaning

Yesterday I ended up blitzing the living room - washed sofa covers, cushion covers, rugs. Hoovered carpets and lampshade, washed skirtings, moved all furniture to hoover underneath/behind, cleaned out the fireplace...

Today I am cleaning the kitchen. I have everything off the worktops, all sorts of things from the tops of cupboards are in the dw, the cupboards doors/tops have been scrubbed....I still have loads to do but am making good progress and the room is looking miles better so I'm well motivated

Dh has been paid for a job that owed a couple of thousand pounds so we're solvant again (for now!) and dh will be able to relax abit again this eve, I think I'll plan him a nice supper

scattyspice · 02/07/2008 12:28

Hi again all.
Wii fit sounds really good. How much?

EV - have a really good book (Dorothy Rowe Guide to life) which I re read every time I feel a bit crazy. It helps me get things in perspective. Hope you feel brighter soon. You're DH sounds supportive.

Loopy, sounds like you're doing well with Avon.

Today i need to:
Finish cards for DH birthday and wrap presents.
DS homework.
Reply to party invite for DS.
Fill in Avon order form.
Cull mags, comics and catalogues.
Bath DCs (very scruffy).

Quick question: Do you send in present for teacher at end of term? (What?)
