Decluttering Thread 13 - Hopefully Lucky For Some!

Good morning fellow sorters, chuckers & sellers! Starting a new thread as No 12 was almost full. This thread is one of my favourites & I find it hugely inspiring. I have a very long way to go as my house still resembles a jumble sale but I have got rid of a lot over the last few months plus made some money into the bargain. Last night I transferred several carrier bags of clothes that are on Vinted into a pink velvet storage chest that, ironically, hadn’t been assembled & was taking up space in DH’s office 🤣🤣🤣 It’s now in front of the storage cubes in the lounge & honestly, the pleasure I get from seeing it & the space created is immense.
I need a day to dedicate to Vinted as I have bags of clothes still to photograph & upload, some clothes to try on which may end up on there too & some TJC rings to photograph for selling. They were quite expensive but I rarely wore them & now they’re too big. I have a huge car bill to pay so the extra pennies will be great. Have a productive day all!

27 items listed and went live yesterday. Will count as they sell.

Total for year so far = 146/365

DHs birthday party so 5 birthday items in! Also 2 sticker sets and one foldable animal origami for DC and shorts from Vinted for me.

But lots of outs too - set of napkins, set of paperbags, some bricks (yes, I'm counting those as a bundle from my garden!), and a mini moisturiser used up.
Importantly, I took a bag of 35 items to textile recycling ranging from shoes to holey socks and ripped leggings to stained school uniform. It was a very big bag!

Rubbish rubbish’s bin day today. I realised the bin wasn’t even quarter full when I went to put it out last night for them coming this morning.

I took a bin bag and went in the garage and lobbed bits in it and then went to the shed and did the same, then I threw in old ends of old plant pots that I’d put under the hedge to go in the skip later this month.

Every time I see crap disappearing out of the drive, it makes me feel so much lighter.

I’ve fallen off MN and the previous thread.
Currently not running or doing very much as I have developed a very sore hip. Have had an X-ray and an MRI, waiting for the results, then hoping the physio can fix me 🤞

Jobs:

1. Hang up framed pictures; handyman friend to do - typically he hasn’t returned yet, have nagged several times, v annoying
2. DS1’s gaming, PC, Nerf, Warhammer & D&D sorted and tidied and put away into eaves cupboards: NERF DONE, Cables sorted, the rest is fine, so counting as DONE ✔️
3. Bathroom redecoration: Mirror & pictures up; handyman friend to do one day…
4. Irish passports for DD & DS2
5. Front room - big project but at least sort through the stuff in there
6. sort through food in pantry (shelving area) and tidy shelves
7. summer project: DD’s summerhouse tidy & clean & investigate setting up as her dance space

Not quite outs yet:
jigsaw to a friend DONE ✔️

I have managed, with help, to move the piano from one side of the front room to the other, this means I then moved the sofa in front of the tv. All part of a plan to make that room ‘mine’. But I have loads of junk/crap/dumped stuff in there that I keep meaning to sort through as it’s been a dumping ground for years.

Just sold a ring & a Laura Ashley vest top on Vinted. Both have been on for several weeks. Still debating whether to delete some items that either haven’t been viewed at all or have very low figures. They include some Joules tops. Maybe there are just too many similar on the site.

Today I have put 2 carrier bags in clothing bank next to where my work place is.

4 old cardboard boxes for various phones etc out.

10 old birthday cards in recycling bin

I have sorted out a bag for charity shop which will go tomorrow 👍

the plan for next week is to sort out the shed!

I listed and sold a few more Vinted items, including a pair of dungarees I had bought but they were sadly not a good fit for me. However, I sold them on at the same price so no great loss.

out- kids hat, dungarees, a sarong and a book sold on Vinted, oyster card holder, picture frame donated, one small hotel shower gel used up, 2 expired drink cartons emptied and recycled, pants that kept slipping down (!) binned, dead plant in compost.

A big in, bike for DC!! We hadn't had a bike for 9 months so this is a big in. Hoping to sell the pram, finally, to make up space-wise

Very slowly going through my books. Fiction available as audiobooks is a straightforward decision, as my eyes get tired quickly and I much prefer to listen while busy in house or garden. So far, about a dozen set aside to donate or sell.
