I feel like an outlier - I’ve already earned my £6 pending. We have a m and s near by and I’m happy to earn ££ for spends.

Swissroll12 · 19/04/2026 19:19

Maybe email customer services expressing how customers feel ,

Yes, there's a foodhall one about 5 mins from where I work, so I can see me getting the food ones, I need to get into the habit of checking the app rather than just scanning the card from my apple wallet. Same with the others. I do check Waitrose since they started the little treats, tend to forget in Sainsburys and Lidl (poor wifi/data).

HumBumBum · 28/04/2026 08:52

I just bought a few things to qualify for the £20 off £100 spend but one of the shirts was far too big (as their sizing is unreliable). So now none of my purchases qualify for the discount so everything is going back - well done M&S!

The remaining discounts are not things I‘d buy so it looks like it’s not worth swiping my card in future (I’ll keep my data to myself). Such a shame.

I’m up to £23 with it, it’s working for me esp with gym and food offers.

ExquisitelyDressed · 05/06/2026 07:41

I kept forgetting to activate m y offers in the food hall, but remembered yesterday when buying clothes and got a £5 reward pending in case I return anything but as I mainly shop in store and try on there which was the case yesterday I won’t be so just have to wait it out. I have managed to get in the habit of checking some of the other apps before I shop so hopefully will this one now too.

Has anyone else had a Sparks freebee through post? I received a package, on Friday, including some cherry Colins, a shopping bag and some hand cream 😁

How much are you spending to be a top customer out of interest @PickAChew

TofuTuesday · 19/06/2026 16:53

I’m really cross about the freebies! Annoyed me so much that I’ve stopped embracing the new app and gone back to Tesco 😂

I do a food shop there every week plus a few top ups, as it's just down the road (probably £500 per month) and buy the odd item of bedding or men's clothing.

Paddingtonridesagain · 19/06/2026 18:30

I found the ond 20% off useful. I have not worked out yet what the new system does. It does not appear to offer anything.

TofuTuesday · 20/06/2026 13:16

Just discovered you have to load the rewards to your sparks card to redeem. There’s a whole add to card, how much, add a mobile, to do.

TofuTuesday · 20/06/2026 13:17

You have to click ‘spend’ next to the rewards amount on the screen and choose how much. Unlike other cards etc where it preloads.

PickAChew · 20/06/2026 17:16

That will be a security thing. DH is one of many who had his Nectar points drained by someone 300 miles away because there was nothing preventing people from randomly generating numbers and redeeming the ones that worked.

Oh wow. So how do Waterstones and Boots manage?

ThreeStripeQueen · 20/06/2026 18:09

The new rewards are so annoying. I don’t want a stupid challenge of 6 days to spend £25 on shoes and get £7 back, but the shoes must not be sandals or slippers or ten days to spend £6 on frozen veggetables to get £1 🙄
I want to shop, give me some points if you want but otherwise just let me get on with it.

LetMeStayInBed · 20/06/2026 18:15

Did anyone else get a gift in the post this week from M&S? Came home to a Sparks box on the doormat containing a tote bag, Colin the caterpillar sweets and an Apothecary hand cream.

Yes I got this too! I spend about £550+ a month there. I’ve about £30 in my rewards since it started. Twice I got £10 if you spend £100 and my weekly shop there is always at least £100.

FishPie2 · 20/06/2026 18:37

I bought homewear there a couple of weeks ago and last week got an offer for £6 off the products I had just bought and used so no taking it back and rebuying.

Bjorkdidit · 20/06/2026 19:57

I want a Sparks present parcel now. Sad. Is it your birthdays soon?

But I agree with a PP that I don't want to piss about with apps and challenges to earn points. So tedious.

I've not had any offers in the new system but I am currently working on a £4 reward if I spend £35 in the food hall in the next 2 weeks, which is achievable to me, but then I wonder what hoops I'll have to jump through to not lose the £4.

ToiletKaren · 20/06/2026 20:01

I've just given up since they started this. Bought underwear from TU yesterday, would have used a 20% off and got from M&S before. Often got jeans there with the money off too, if there's no discount I may as well look in next etc.
I can see it saves them money, but if we buy less does that really work?

There are no hoops to jump through once you have secured your reward, you can choose when to spend it. The annoying bit is the offers you get after you have just bought the self same items the week before.
I bought shoes today so what is betting I get a shoe offer next week.

tinyspiny · 20/06/2026 21:54

My sister got the freebie in the post - bag , Colin’s and hand cream , her birthday is earlier in the year but she is a good grocery customer , as am I but I’ve not had one .

PickAChew · 20/06/2026 21:57

Apparently they went out to the top 100,000 customers, or something, plus some staff.

Stelladid · 20/06/2026 22:22

I don’t like the new system. It just pushes us to buy something else to get a discount. I preferred the 20% off!
