Sorted and properly cleaned 3 drawers and 1 cupboard in the kitchen today

Charity shop: garland

New batteries into smoke alarm.
Five flat batteries to be recycled at tesco.

Binned ancient pre-LED torch which took huge 6v batteries and weighed a ton. DH had a wee reminisce about the jobs he was on when he first got the torch for work. It must be at least thirty years ago, as it had his old job title painted on the side.

Used holey pj bottoms for cleaning instead of buying cloths.

6 more things out on Vinted. I have a bag of clothes that I can't see selling on Vinted which I need to donate. So will count them and donate this week.

I'm about to do a massive pre Christmas clean soʻ hopefully that will yield more outs.

Pigtailsandall · 06/12/2025 15:24

Saw my friend today and I made her take stuff from my massive beauty stash. She took a hairclip and headband (both new, gifts from beauty orders) and an eyebrow pen and a setting mist. That covers me for days 336 to 339 and gets me to today. Seeing SIL tomorrow so going to see if she wants stuff too. I have too many and no way I'll get to it all before it expires

Forgive me fellow declutterers for I have sinned! Bought a napkin holder (lovely wicker box with a silver metal leaf to keep the serviettes in place) for £2 & a Gisella Graham reindeer jug for £1.50 in a local charity shop. Planning to use the box for storing paperwork so it’s not all bad!

In donate pile - two outgrown PE polo shirts, two pairs shorts. School doesn’t have specific uniform for PE, and kid is growing so fast I’m not buying new stuff. He can wear his summer shorts and tees until he grows out of those as well.

Adult DS was round to sort through the accumulated tech. He hooked up an old xbox that had been on a shelf for years. We went through the games. I kept the PGs and 12s, and he took away about a dozen 15s and 18s for his own set-up.

We put two ancient PCs and a broken monitor in the garage to go to recycling some day. He’s going to spend a couple of hours every so often working his way through it all. He also took a book of his and the last of the bits and pieces for his table top games.

Two carrier bags have made it to the charity shop, containing some of my sons outgrown clothes, an unused perfume, some of my clothes I've cleared out and a onsie.

I took two days off work this week to…. clean, tidy and declutter….. the reality was not what I planned but!! I have listed 10 things on eBay and received a really lovely comment from someone who bought something from my last batch of listings which absolutely made my day!

so, not all bad really 😄

Thesquaregiraffe · 06/12/2025 22:46

Just had a thought…

to add to my last post, sadly one evening on my days off, wine played quite a large part - I’ve bought a steamer from the TikTok shop.

Wish me luck! 🤣

In my defence, the results in the videos looked really good through wine glasses and doom scrolling at 1am.

Went to London today. I am back in London on Saturday and Sunday next week. I really want a Selfridges yellow bag. What can I buy to get a decent size carrier bag? We went in Popmart, so we might have bought a Labubu. Occasionally, I do like to sucome to buying some random crap. I also looked and tried a few Mulberry handbags as one day I'm going to buy a preloved one once dd gets into secondary for me surving three EHCPs.
Another Vinted out for dd. Sold the dress she wore to mums funeral which was a beautiful dress. But it's 9-10 and she is 11 so not much wear left in it. She is just growing out of 8-9 but her feet are growing and I expect a growth spurt which is good as she is a little dot.

Googled my charity shop jug & it costs £13.50 new

EllieQ · 07/12/2025 09:55

A quick update as we head towards the end of this thread. This week I’ve donated three books to the school Christmas fair and dropped a bag of previously counted items to the charity shop. Managed to get rid of a few things during October and November, and my total for 2025 is now 422, which is more than I thought.

Pigtailsandall · 07/12/2025 10:27

Day 340, continuing with my makeup declutter and got rid of a an eye brow setter thingy which i'm pretty sure came as a free gift and apart from trying it I've never had a use for it.

TidyClutterIsStillClutter · 07/12/2025 11:34

I’ll get thread 12 started if that’s ok.

Thanks! Can I start the one after that? I have a pun I'm itching to use, ha!

BunnyLover7 · 08/12/2025 08:10

I have an unexpected free day (or mostly) so it’s carrier bag blitz time! I’m sure the darn things multiply! And I am definitely definitely clearing the ever growing pile on my bedroom stool! How long have I been gearing up to get that done?! Plus definitely transferring the charity shop donations to my boot!

BunnyLover7 · 08/12/2025 08:11

That means both empty carrier bags, which can go in the office, and full ones which need sorting.

BunnyLover7 · 08/12/2025 20:26

Another bag filled for the charity shop & some of the pile of clothes put away. It was too cold for trying on! Feel satisfied with the sorting of the Christmas stuff. DH found the cards in the loft after all. Got an M & S snow-globe that plays Jingle Bells & what I reckon is probably a fake Ralph Lauren Polo LA Creation half moon bag to photograph & advertise. FB Marketplace is a bit crap so going to try E Bay instead.

Riverswims · 08/12/2025 20:32

all the accessories for a broken gaming system out plus a load of dvds that were with it out
that’s cleared a corner and made it echoey
