  5. Bathroom redecoration: Mirror bought but need help hanging it, plus have framed DS1’s Navy commission which he wants hung up in there, who am I to argue!
  6. prove identity online for school governor stuff - over due job DONE ☑️

Had a productive afternoon doing various jobs, not necessarily the big ones though.

Jobs:

  1. Hang up framed pictures: this has now changed to critically go through the framed artwork as we’ve agreed we don’t actually want all of it?
  2. my British passport application - passport application form; 1st step need new passport photos; photos DONE ☑️ form started - waiting on friend to prove identity
  3. DS1’s gaming, PC, Nerf, Warhammer & D&D sorted and tidied and put away into eaves cupboards
  4. Portfolio work - 14 practical sign offs, hoping a friend will help me out this week, then it’s done!
  5. Bathroom redecoration: Mirror bought but need help hanging it, plus have framed DS1’s Navy commission which he wants hung up in there, who am I to argue!

sorted through big box of pastry cutters - lots listed on FB site
raffle prizes to school tomorrow
charity collection pots to return to charity tomorrow

Out:
charity shop drop off - approx 25 items
678+25=703

Vinorosso74 · 21/10/2025 17:05

Feeling a little overwhelmed again. I think it's as I'm the only one who actually bothers to sort stuff out to go and deals with selling it/dropping off to charity shop etc. DP will do a dump run but I have to instigate it.
Decided to at least do something small so took the remaining tomatoes off the plants, chopped plants down and into garden waste they went. Took some soft plastics for recycling.

IndianSummer78 · 21/10/2025 18:24

One dress I'm not bothered about into donation bag. Total is 4066.

Vinorosso I think this is the mentality we all need to cultivate, doing one small thing even when we don't want to do anything. That way things don't build up so much even if life isn't going well in general.

BunnyLover7 · 21/10/2025 19:22

Another lean day but I have deleted some photos off my phone & a load of E Mails if that counts?

TidyClutterIsStillClutter · 21/10/2025 21:40

Binned - one broken plastic toy car.

IncessantNameChanger · 21/10/2025 23:14

One face cream used up - aiming to just have one on the go not 500 half used ones.

One pair of lovely tinkerbell socks Binned. Gutted but they had a massive hole and I have a gazillion socks. Aiming to get down to bare minium socks. Might take the rest of my life but I haven't bought any for years now and they are wearing out now.

My cars making a a weird noise so paid £100 for diagnostic that revealed I have lost a wheel nut and another was hand loose, but it was that causing the noise.

More problems with dd ehcp and secondary transfer. I want to crawl under a rock so I totally get having zero motivation. I'm going to finish my Vinted listings over half term. Should free up another 200 donations when it goes. I don't buy clothes any more so no idea why I still have such a glut to cull? Looked at donating it to local charity but all their slots are full.

BunnyLover7 · 22/10/2025 07:40

Sold a ring & a sequinned top - grand total of £14 but it’s better than nothing. Going to tackle the landing after work as DD16 uses it as a general dumping ground. In the past, her piles got so high that DH couldn’t get into his office. It’s good that she’s trying to clear out her room but not great that everything just gets left outside it! I’m also going to move all the stuff off the stairs which is also mostly DD’s.

Yes, I agree. I joined when this was get rid of one item a day. I still try to work on that idea so even if it's only seven items over the week, it's still outs.
I find it's easier to try and keep on top of things but unfortunately DP is the son of a hoarder. He procrastinates so it takes ages for things to be done which is also why I end up just doing stuff. An example, I was out about 40 minutes last night doing a cat sit, when I got home his washing was still waiting to be put away and the washing and clearing up after dinner was still there. When I put the TV on later, he'd been playing on the sodding Xbox!!!!
I also finished a face cream this morning.

Riverswims · 22/10/2025 09:51

I got an unpleasant surprise last Thursday @IncessantNameChangermy car was making a weird noise so thought “oh I’ll book the MOT anyway” it was due today so I booked it immediately and luckily all ok lost the day really (we did some nice wandering) and decluttered some money 😳

mutleyschuckles · 22/10/2025 10:39

A purse I bought ages ago but was never used sold on vinted yesterday, as did a pair of jeans I bought of there to replace the ones I’m throwing out this week, except they didn’t fit properly. However we are away at butlins until Friday so won’t be able to post them till the weekend.
have a bin bag in the go in the bedroom with old tatty undies & old ruined socks being chucked into each day, will add holey jeans in too this evening. Then it’s old leggings for the last day & a pair that I still like to wear home (not looking my finest this week 🤣)

various bags of 2ps being used up in the arcades- so we can replace those with whatever tat the kids win out of them!

Realfastfoodie · 22/10/2025 14:00

I’m not keeping up with the thread at all now… I’m still selling a bit on vinted and trying to get rid of things with every job I do in the house. Sorted the kids winter clothes, got rid of some to charity and convinced myself they really don’t need anything else! So that was a good job done.

Also still a little bit of a steady stream on vinted. I definitely find listing little and often and early evening/weekends is a good tactic. I’m pricing to sell, although I must admit I’ve rejected a few cheeky bundle offers! (Come on, they were bargain prices, plus 20% discount!!!!)

LivingInaBuiltSite · 22/10/2025 17:05

Every little counts, as Tesco says!

Jobs:

  3. DS1’s gaming, PC, Nerf, Warhammer & D&D sorted and tidied and put away into eaves cupboards
  4. Portfolio work - 14 practical sign offs; waiting for next shift on Saturday, hoping crewmate will just sign them without a fuss 🤞
  5. Bathroom redecoration: Mirror bought but need help hanging it, plus have framed DS1’s Navy commission which he wants hung up in there, who am I to argue!
  6. Fix old parasol using fab video then give away

Face wash finished up
Primer finished up
T-shirt I don't like donated
Total is 4070

Riverswims · 22/10/2025 21:54

didn’t keep track much today but I’d say
4 medium boxes emptied to go condensed into 1 book shelf and existing drawers
5+ OOD toiletries out
1 bag of unrecyclables out
1 box of recycling out
1 empty basket available! not everyone agrees but empty storage is my favourite thing!
travel stuff found

misplaced something I actually wanted today though 🥺 very much hope they turn up

LR47 · 22/10/2025 22:16

Been really poorly and had a surprise medical diagnosis to deal with so the house has taken a massive back seat. Tried to get back on it a little this afternoon.

I have sold (will post tomorrow) a quite large toy and 2 pairs of pyjamas. I’ve got a bag of stuff ready for the school Xmas fair lucky dip stall to drop off tomorrow morning. I’ve had a bid on an eBay item so that’s not out yet but will definitely sell. I Won’t count til it’s posted though.

total outs 1092

TidyClutterIsStillClutter · 22/10/2025 22:22

Bin - one pair non-functioning earbuds.

Tub of wooden blocks going into spare toy cupboard. I really shouldn’t have a spare toy cupboard at all; it’s pure sentiment.

ETA have started sorting playmobil, cars, and similar into sets.

Possible time wasters on the ring & the top but someone is collecting a 9K gold locket tomorrow night & a lady is coming on Sat for a Batwoman costume. Hoping my amber ring will sell too.

Riverswims · 23/10/2025 08:16

I think the ear buds need to go in electricals @TidyClutterIsStillClutter
