Morning Luda and Bianca and everyone who follows.

I didn't get online yesterday either. Spent all morning cake decorating (will do pic in a min) and all evening putting up balloons, banners and wrapping DD1's presents. 5 today. She had us all up at 5.45! Worse than xmas morn! lol!

Luda Good luck with re-starting the diet. Cloudy but dry here so far.

Bianca WELL DONE. So glad you are going to get some help. Good to see you here too. Hope work goes well. We planted sunflowers a few weeks ago. Need to put them in the garden somewhere soon.

tortoise · 17/05/2008 10:04

FGS Poor DD2 and poor you. Hope she isn't too bad with it.
GO Well done to Ed for getting pupil of the week.
Ruby Wii fit sounds fun, i want one. Shame night out cancelled. Man flu should be banned!

NotABanana · 17/05/2008 10:05

Morning.

Have painted where the wall is marked, put on dishwasher and washer twice, put away clothes. Hoping Dh will take the kids out so I can have some space. If you see me on here - kick me off - I need to get this house straight.

gem1981 · 17/05/2008 10:22

Hello

I came down today after a lie-in
and found DH and DS clearing out the playroom !!!!!

...then DH hoovered

we are on our way into town now to buy DS a book case for the playroom as we have nowhere to store his books!!!

waves to everyone

hope you all have a nice weekend.

tortoise · 17/05/2008 10:27

Cake pic added to profile. DD1 nearly saw it lol! It is hidden in a cupboard at the moment.

Jas · 17/05/2008 10:54

Lovely cake tortoise - She will be really pleased with that!

Well done Bianca I hope the gp was more help tha the oe you saw the first time you tried.

Good luck dieting Luda - hide the biscuits!

DP and I are already bickering this morning, and he isn't even out of the shower yet (part of my complaint) so it could be a long weekend.

I'll try starting with a fresh smile when he comes back down,

Kitchen is sparkly though....a good side effect of bad mood

grouchyoscar · 17/05/2008 12:48

Blinking flip, is it the afternoon already?

DH got a Wii Fit yesterday and set it up this morning. DH played on it, Ed played on it and I...gpt 4 mins on it (ooooh, lucky me ) with DH constantly walking round me and Ed fussing unbearably (I'll do it, I'll show you) and I get an age rating of +19 years and I realise my right hand side is seriously worse than my left. Thus I feel considerably disabled, frustrated, down and eff off to do the stuff no one else will

Oh and yesterday Ed and friends managed to see off the larger of the 2 mini greenhouses in the garden, DH becomes patriarcal and condecending and in the process manages to knack the new cover then say 'It's alright cos I was going to get you one for your birthday'. Like cheers, Your replacing something I already had that you helped to trash? Plus I have to hope the seedlings survive the traumas.

Good news is that I'm overweight but nowhere near obese and done is

WM emptied
Washing sorted for drying
Cat cellar
Downstairs sweeping
Downstairs mopping
Bathroom mopping
staircase cleared of stuff for taking upstairs

If those two don't frame themselves I'm going on strike

Sorry for whinging at you all, thanks for the therapy

FunkyGlassSlipper · 17/05/2008 13:42

tort - lovely cake!

GO - we're planning to get a wii fit. Will be a good way to track any progress of getting fitter.

TheMadHouse · 17/05/2008 14:39

Tort Cake is fab

GO Seems like one of those days.

We have cleared the cuboard that the old PC sits in downstairs, we havent used it for over a year. DH is going to fix it and we have moved it upstairs to the study for DS1 to play on.

I have filled the cuboard with all the boys art a dn craft stuff - I forgot they had half of it.

I also have done a couple of washes, but just enjoyed lounging about.

We are going to drop my mums walking stick in as she left it here and pop to the shop, but thats it really a lazy weekend in the mad house

Ludaloo · 17/05/2008 15:49

Hi all

tort I love the cake!

Just come back from town. DH and I have treated ourselves to a stereo. We didn't have one! Had to listen to cd's on the computer, which annoyed me!
It has a record player too. My dad gave us all his old vinyls a while ago, but we didn't have anything to listen to them on, he had recorded them all to cd and had no where to store them so gave them to us.
Talk about a blast from the past!
He has Mowtown, Bob Dylan, Rod Stewert, Mike Oldfield (is it me or do all parents own Tubular Bells!)Rolling Stones, Beatles, Johnathan Livingston Seagull....gosh just loads and loads! all remind me of him!

OP posts:
Ludaloo · 17/05/2008 16:09

"have you seen her dressed in gold?" tra la la la

"she's like a rainbow" tra la la

Name that tune

Well I am debating whether to do a big blast on the house.
My DH doesn't help, he has the smelliest job ever....comes back in stinking of oil/petrol/white spirits/gearbox fluid.....yuk!!! and it lingers! He is working on an old MG out on the front, and keeps comming in to get things and it stinks!
Makes me want to throw all the windows open and clean!

Actually the kitchen needs special attention. The cooker is minging and the fryer needs a good clean and oil change.
The tiles could do with a wipe down too.

I also have a basket of ironing to do....that will have to wait until after supper though I think.

OP posts:
Ludaloo · 17/05/2008 16:14

p.s GO you'll have to turf the annoying male members out and have a go hoola hooping....I have heard that is good fun!

OP posts:
Ludaloo · 17/05/2008 16:19

We would have bought Wii Fit today if it had been in stock anywhere. Bought a stereo instead! Its very irritating, everyone has big displays for it, but don't actually stock it

OP posts:
Ludaloo · 17/05/2008 16:21

.......I'm going to stop talking to myself now and get cleaning! DH has just wafted in and out again, I've told him not to light his cigarette up anywhere near the house....

OP posts:
grouchyoscar · 17/05/2008 16:36

Luda is it 'she's like a rainbow' by The Rolling Stones? They're using it on an advert for a TV I think and an Indie band in the 90's (Chapterhouse?) did a cover of it.

Although I am taking Grouchy industrial action (I'll invent a union...FLYgo I think) I have found a site that lets you make kids writing practise sheets. I've been searching for ages for those. Lots of printing is going on in the office.

Grouchy Action involves having a migraine, hiding in the bedroom and listening to Woman's Hour, Not a placard or donkey jacket in sight I think I'm just sulking big time about feeling ill and Borisy.

Bianca Brilliant news, good going

Tort must see the cake

tortoise · 17/05/2008 17:34

DS's are now at their Dads. Changed days so they could be here for DD1's birthday. Think she has had a good day. She loved the cake and it was really tasty!
DD2 is asleep, she doesn' want to wake up. She won't want to sleep later.

BiancaCastafiore · 17/05/2008 17:56

Glad the cake was a hit Tort It looked fab - wish we could taste it too, I could just fancy a slice of cake...

Luda at all your posts. Th enew stereo sounds great

Jas the GP was really nice. He's recommended a CBT workbook and told me to go back in a month or so to update him. He's also recommended hypnotherapywhich I'll look into, it has a high success rate apparently

Grouchy Action sounds good

We haven't planted the sunflowers. Dd wanted to do a show in the garden instead, then she and I have been trying to get her Thank you notes written (late already) so we had an hour doing them before she got fed up. The rest can wait till tomorrow.
Now watching HSM2 (again!)

Dh and I have rowed He's undone a load of work I did in the garden this week[furious-emotion]
