Morning

Luda sunny but a cold wind here too this morning. Is everyone over the sickness now?
Jas Hope dp makes some progress today x I'm inclined to agree about the hypnotherapy, I have a freind who found it helped her fear of flying so I'm open to the idea.
Gem I'd dust first too
FGS poor dd2
TMH enjoy your lazy Sunday x

Dh gave me a lie-in this morning, he's being extra nice so far today

Dd and I are still making thank you cards - it'll take a while I think as she's being very particular about them.

We have been invited to my SiLs house this afternoon (just over an hours drive away) I have already sent my excuses but I could go along...I'm just not sure if I'm ready to attempt a journey like that yet though....I'm ready to tackle the problem but don't want to push myself and try too much too soon.

If I stay at home I'm going to have a blitz, I've hardly done anything for the past fortnigt and it really shows

We have put the bouncy castle up in the garden......why oh why I don't know!
Firstly it attracts every small child in the close, and I have to then monitor who gets on it (its isn't big enough for more than a handful of them. The girl across the road is ...um.... very large, and if she gets on it with more than a couple of others, it folds in the middle!!!!)

Secondly DD1 is in a mood because she wants to play Catz on the wii and I won't let her. Its a nice day and there is plently to occupy her outside! KIDS!!!!!!!!

Ruby I think you are right....the more you give them the worse they are!!!!!

Feeling terrible. Gave DD2 2 x the dose of pirition she is meant to have earlier. 5ml instead of 2.5.Of course she didnt spit any out either. Cue total panic and a call to NHS direct who were very good actually and told me she will be fine but probably sleepy. She is in bed as we speak and has been since 11.00. Her pox has spread around her neck and face and is in her bits/bottom and even on her toes now. She doesnt seem bothered as much as DD1 was but her neck is like one big spot there are so many...

Poor DD2 FGS

Hello again

Feeling happier, I did the ironing outside in the sunshine, Made the bed, tidied the gardenEd's clothges ready for tomorrow.

I actually got a go on the wii fit. I think it will help to improve my balance. It's a great bit of kit. I'm shattered now (heh heh)

Ed will do some writing practise today. I decree it

TheMadHouse · 18/05/2008 13:22

FGS me and my boys are sending little kisses and stop scatching vibes to DD2. DS1 now has stickers all over him as he wanted to know what chicken pox were - he is calling them his chicken pops

FunkyGlassSlipper · 18/05/2008 13:25

aw bless TMH. DD1 calls them "chicken spots"

intravenouscoffee · 18/05/2008 13:50

Hi all.
FGS Hope the girls feel better soon. Poor DD1, it's horrible when they get a bad dose of it. Am sure the extra piriton won't cause a problem, we used to give stronger doses at the hospital if they were needed.
GO Glad you're feeling happier
Luda Bouncy castle sounds brave! Good luck with the kitchen
Ruby Was thinking the same thing yesterday. Had been moaning about how tired I was and then checked in on OJ's thread and realised how pathetic I was being
Jas Hope DP is working hard.
Hello Bianca Gem and TMH
DD asleep so trying to catch up with stuff. The whole house is just that way where it's not a complete slum but not properly tidy either... just bits and bobs everywhere which annoy me
Will try a room rescue on the lounge and see if things improve. Back later

grouchyoscar · 18/05/2008 16:11

Just checking in

Ed has done some writing, it's getting better but I wish he would keep his pencil on the paper and form letters anti-clockwise. He'll get there I'm sure

Further done is...the front garden, Why, I don't know. Ed wanted to see it and it was a pay off for doing the writing. I ended up triming the shrubs that are going mad in there and pull ivy off the walls (she's always doing it, wish her parents would have a word ) Well it looks neater now but I've gone a tad wibbly wobbly. Nevermind

I've got sandwiches to do for morning then a soak and bed

Hope everyone is fine and DD2 of FGS is on the mend.

Jas · 18/05/2008 21:03

Evening

Things are taking forever to load here so I'll do just one post tonight unless it gets better.

DP spent most of the day not doing much until I got upset and told him a few home truths I don't know if anything has sunk in, or if he was doing his usual knee jerk reaction of whatever keeps me happy in the short term then back to the same old ways. Only time will tell on that one

I've loaded his car up with stuff to put in the skip at work tomorrow, and cleared the front of the house so that looks ok now.

Luda Thanks
FGS I'm sure dd2 wll be fine....just a bit sleepy as they said. Is she all crusted yet?

TheMadHouse · 18/05/2008 21:11

Groucy Take it easy - Boris will rebel. Ivy will only be back up the wall

IVC I know just what you mean. I hate things not being in their place.

Luda I will not have a bouncy castle, just like a trampoline is a no no

Bianca Good on you re the doctors, you know my MSN if you want to chat. I am really proud of you for taking the first step

FGS Hope the pops are better. Stickers came off for the bath, but were left on all day

We have had a nice day. Repotted a couple of acers as their pots had rotted (zinc), put up the swings for the boys and secured them (£5 bargin got a while ago thanks to mumsnet)

Both the boys have toncillitus so have been dosed with medised and I am hoping for a good nights sleep.

Oh yes we booked the freebie Pontins holiday (also thanks to mumsnet) to Prestatin from 23 June (DS2 will be 2 on the 24th) for a week. We upgraded for £40. I love north wales. We honeymooned in Bethesda and had a wonderful time. So we have shown the boys Llanberis railway, cowy castle etc. I can not wait. It is going to be our only holiday this year, due to all my operations and also financial restraits.

Anyway I am off to join DH watching Indie again and then watch NCIS which I am sky+ing

Catch you ladies in the morning

tortoise · 18/05/2008 21:28

Hello.
Spent most of the day sorting the mountain of washing out. Haven't put much away yet. Kids rooms too messy to get to the draws. I will have to spend all tomorrow up there too i think.
Made butterfly cakes and cherry and almond flapjacks.
Load of washing dried.
DD2's duvet is in the WM. She wet it night before last. She's in a fleece sleeping bag tonight. They slept in with me last night!

FunkyGlassSlipper · 18/05/2008 21:35

Hi Guys,

DD2 is worse. Now has blisters all over the bck of her neck and face and some have appeared on her body and toes too No scabs at all yet and just a couple have burst. I have smeared her in calamine cream and we've managed to get her to bed but I'm not hopeful for a good night's sleep.
Means I cant work again tomorrow....

Hope you're all ok. TMH - your sweet DS

tortoise · 18/05/2008 21:48

FGS Poor DD2. Have you tried a bath with porridge oats? Seen it mentioned a lot on MN. Hope she is feeling better soon.

tortoise · 18/05/2008 21:50

FGS good tips here

FunkyGlassSlipper · 18/05/2008 21:57

Thanks Tort - We've given her calpol, piriton, calamine cream and bath with bicarb of soda. At least she's sleeping now which is the best thing for her.

I'm glad it will be out of the way for both of them but it breaks your heart when they are properly poorly, doesnt it

tortoise · 18/05/2008 22:10

Am glad all mine have had it. DS1 had it at a year old. DD1, DD2 and DS2 all had it in 2006.
