Bigdoglittledog80 · 16/06/2024 15:07

A continous pile of fresh fluffy white towels
Fresh flowers
White, crisp bedlinen
Everything in its place
A fridge full of fresh food
A fully stocked larder
Drinks stocked, large ice cubes in the freezer

Anyone else relate?

Cattery · 16/06/2024 15:16

My home has a pile of fresh towels. Sometimes buy flowers. Everything is in its place. Ice cubes in freezer and drinks to choose from. Big shop weekly in fridge. White bedding

JaneJeffer · 16/06/2024 15:17

No I can't relate

haddockfortea · 16/06/2024 15:18

It would be nice to have staff to do all that, yes. They can do all the cooking while they're at it.

OldTinHat · 16/06/2024 15:19

You have described my house! And I love it!

But I have guests coming and it will all revert to a jumble sale in three, two, one...!

Roseyjane · 16/06/2024 15:20

I guess my house is like this bar the fresh flowers, I don’t consider it like a hotel though.

Beautifulbythebay · 16/06/2024 15:21

Once went to collect ds from a play date and went in for coffee. House like an absolute palace.. Felt quite a failure tbh..
Went home and opened the door to 16 paws clattering on the floorboards..
Much better.

Imo.
Home.

PiggieWig · 16/06/2024 15:21

I’d love it but my place would currently only get a 1* review on TripAdvisor

keylimedog · 16/06/2024 15:21

That's always my aim!! Especially with the bedding / towels, it makes everything feel fab.

Just put the weekly fresh flowers out upstairs and down and going to swap to fresh bedding tonight. Cannot wait, it's going to feel fantastic.

Always big ice cubes, if you buy them from Ocado you can buy giant ball ones which are my favourite!

Evenstar · 16/06/2024 15:21

If you have teenagers it will feel like a hotel every day, but not in a good way!

My house is like that.
I love it.

OP you can do it too - what's stopping you?

I am thinking about putting a small fridge in the gym so I can roll cold flannels infused with essential oils stacked up neatly for post workouts.

I popped on to say something similar😁

On a good day, my house doesn't look like a bicycle workshop.

Omg, how to make people feel crap in 2 easy steps

Why? It's not a requirement just someone's preference.

I personally don't like the hotel vibe for home and prefer a more homely atmosphere like the poster with paws on the floor.

ProvincialLady2024 · 16/06/2024 15:31

Maids,
Chefs,
Kitchen posters,
Care takers
Gardeners,
Kids club.

Is it really too much to ask?

Chypre · 16/06/2024 15:35

Yes but also my favourite hotels are grand country houses with acres and acres of grounds and formal gardens. No amount of washing and starching will get me that, sadly.

Bigdoglittledog80 · 16/06/2024 16:22

@dontbelievewhatyousee omg that sounds amazing

@keylimedog I def need the ocado ice cubes. I will be checking them out.

This is how I strive to have my house. Its costly to have the fresh flowers. I regularly recycle old grey towels (local dogs home) and replace with new white fluffy ones.

I like to have everything ready to be used, at any time. Clean lines, type of thing. Never run out of anything. Fully stocked with essentials like light bulbs/batteries etc. Fancy hand-wash in the downstairs visitors bathroom

beckybarefoot · 16/06/2024 16:24

no.. i want my house to feel like a home, not a sterile, tidy, clean space for visitors.

i want to people to feel comfortable in my home, that they can kick off their shoes, use the bathroom towels.

BeaRF75 · 16/06/2024 16:26

All white bedlinen helps. And send it to the laundry for washing - comes out much more "hotel-like" than washing it yourself. We have been doing this for years, and it makes life so much nicer.

Floralnomad · 16/06/2024 16:27

Agree to a point , I don’t particularly like cut flowers but we always have fluffy towels , nice bed linen , everything clean and plenty of food but it is a home so it looks lived in .

Snooglequack · 16/06/2024 16:27

Bedbugs?
