BiancaCastafiore · 08/04/2008 08:41

Morning

Hope ds1 has a good day today Tort
Thanks for the thread FGS rest well x
Teeny enjoy the auction, after anything in particular?

It's lovely and sunny just now so we're going to head out to the local wildlife park for a few hours

No FLYing (again) but hope ot perhaps catch up a bit this afternoon.

BiancaCastafiore · 08/04/2008 08:42

Teeny lol, oppps - audition, not auction! After a particular part?

TheMadHouse · 08/04/2008 08:50

Morning all

Thanks FGS you beat me to it.

We get dressed to shoes, but only as we have hard floors downstairs, most people dont, but it really makes a difference. The only time we dont is when we are ill or the weekend It was one of the babysteps that made the most differnce to me

Teeny Good luck in your audition - what do you do [nosey emo]

Well my back is still sore, so I am going to see if I can get a GPs appointment and I also going to ring my mum and see if she will take DS1 for the afternoon and see if DH will pick him up after work - she can only say no

Janni · 08/04/2008 08:54

Morning! Good luck with the audition TTT

Will have to dive in and out of here today as I've got my parents staying and my mum's bemused by why I want to keep going on the computer, which is winding me up a bit!!

Jobs to start:

  • dishwasher/tidy kitchen
  • make beds

Morning all. Day 2 of window replacement and I currently have a big hole in my dining room wall where the old window used to be while the fitters saw bits of the old frames out. Flying is a bit of a losing battle at the moment as the whole house is currently covered with a thin layer of grime, even the rooms where the windows aren't being changed! Am focussing on keeping the lounge and kitchen looking decent and just ignoring the rest of the house until the windows are finished!
Hope you're all having a good morning

TheMadHouse · 08/04/2008 10:04

IVC Just think if those shiney new windows and the dust is nothing that a damp cloth wont fix at the end of the installation

Dyls Holiday countdown initialed

Janni My mum doesnt get it either

I have done yesterdays and todays mission and booked a doctors appointment, but mum says she is not feeling upto having DS1 so they are coming with me!!!

Anyway further decluttering in the ckitechen with a cuppa

TMH your doing well, especially with a bad bck. what time are you seeing the docs?

i have just scrubbed my living room rug, wasnt too bad as i only did it a fortnight ago.
then scrubbed the sofa and armchairs- yuck the water was rotten at the end. it is looking very much better now. cnt go into the living area now tho as get wet feet and bum if you do. so it should stay relatively tidy today.
have also washed nets and pt them back up.

thought i'd go down flylady detailed cleaning list to see what i could get done today. am amazed i have done it all and its only just lunch time.
ds is cleaning his room as i type.
so think i may go and find something for lunch.
were planning on going to strand this afternoon, but there a big grey cloud heading our way, so will obsevre that for a while i think

TheMadHouse · 08/04/2008 12:07

I am at the doctors at 2.50 and taking both the mini mads with me - bloody mother ech

I am doing pasta for lunch, have deforsted a sauce I made previously nd I am astounded with the pasta instructions. This is organic tri colour pasta shapes for children and it says to put 10g of salt in the water 10 *grammes

Anyway just dishing up catch you after lunch

Minkus · 08/04/2008 13:03

Hello everyone, just checking in to make sure I keep on the straight and narrow flypath! You have all been so busy, can't keep up with this thread when I don't post every day

Have had a very productive decluttering couple of days (excl. weekend whe family life just takes over!)

Done family room, dining room, hall, half of conservatory, half of our bedroom, started on spare room. Now only have remaing halves, bathroom (not much to do in there) and ds's room and I'm done. Can't believe the difference that decluttering has made to how much easier it is to keep the house clean! Very liberating indeed. Just hope that when I go back to work (Monday) I can manage to keep on top of it! Work four days a week but haven't been well and off work since mid November so it might be a bit of a shock to the system. Want to get all decluttering done this week as I won't get a chance to do it again before this baby arrives in July (or late June if 'm lucky)

Did the mission yesterday and liking todays too! Could always use more cupboard space so a good spruce of the plastics cupboard sounds ideal. [sad person emoticon]

Have a good day all.
x

intravenouscoffee · 08/04/2008 13:03

Hi all.
Dyls The plan is that they'll do the front door/porch tomorrow and that'll be it finished but the fitters did look a bit when they actually saw our door and porch so it could drag into thursday. It'll be worth it anyway, the ones they've done look SOOOOO much better than the old ones!
Ruby Have a friend who is a bereavement counsellor and she sees quite a few people who start off saying "I'm probably wasting your time; I really feel okay about things" and end up finding it really beneficial.
TMH Hope all goes well at the Drs.
GO I'm sure Ed was glad to be at school once he got there
Anyone know how to teach DD to crawl? She's driving herself (and me) up the wall! Sit up, tip forward, rock on crossed legs, push legs back, land on tummy, wail in disappointment... repeat x 1000!

intravenouscoffee · 08/04/2008 13:05

X posts, hi Minkus. Well done on the massive declutter!

TheMadHouse · 08/04/2008 13:08

Ruby I had bereviment councelling after my father died and found in inordantly helpful and still do. I often wish my mum had. It really made me look at the whole accident and beable to deal with all the issues I had.

My dad died in an industrial accident, was resusertated at the sceen and then spend 3 weeks in ITC on a ventolator sedated and paralysed only to die of septicimia not his injuries and I never managed to speak to him and get a response IYKWIM. It was a really sad time and the councelling made things earier, they did not take the pain away, but helped me know that things change

grouchyoscar · 08/04/2008 13:15

Ruby Accept any offer of free councelling. Someone just might get it right for you. I always thought that I was too insignificant/was coping/someone else will have it worse than me. My last counsellor actually got to the root of my problem and aside for the momentary wobble, I haven't looked back and head wise I am so much better.

TMH they say pasta should be cooked in water as salty as the medditterainian sea. (or so says Nigella) but 10g sounds way too salty. Put just a touch in, most drains off with the water anyway.
Good luck at the Docs and sympathies about a relative who never seems to be there when you need em (coz I have one too)

Further Done

Made Ed's bed and draw his curtains
Paint front door in front room
Tidy away
Put front room back together
Make lunch
Load DW and run

I hate decorating with oil based paints, it's just such a total hassle, the pong, the white spirit stinks, the clean up is a nightmare and nothing washes out [grrrh] No wonder I've procrastinated about it for years.

TO DO

Clear hot spot in front room
Collect Ed
Give him his tea
Reading and writing practice

Then I will make Crazy Double choc chip cookies (or Crazy Choc Choc Chip Cookies for alliterative purposes 0

Better put that hot spot out as it's becoming a blaze
