Kelly's mission

OP posts:
TheMadHouse · 08/04/2008 18:37

See Luda I bet you did your babysteps too - we are only at day 2, so

Shine your sink
Get dressed, do make up and hair

Achieveable?

Ludaloo · 08/04/2008 18:39

Well...I am dressed and I've done my hair....I don't wear make up, and the sink is clean...not particularly shiny...but it is empty

I don't feel so behind after all

Ludaloo · 08/04/2008 18:43

I had better go and sort the fire out....it is bloomin freezing today! I half lit it and it needs stoking. I haven't hoovered for at least 3 days (believe me....that thought is making me twitch as I type!!) I am a mad compulsive vaccumer....at least twice a day normally

I need to get a grip don't I!!!!!!

TheMadHouse · 08/04/2008 18:44

See I am turning negatives into positives now I am feeling better. Shows how the CBT works I do not wake make up either - used to work work, but can not be bothered for the kids

I think I am going to bake tonight, so just need to check I have all the ingredients I need.

The boys are having eye tests in the morning adn then we are going swimming

Ludaloo · 08/04/2008 19:06

I'm glad I checked on here now I was contemplating watching Handy Manny...(oh joy!) with the kids and eating choc chip cookies instead.
Thank you....
I have now hoovered downstairs and shined the sink....and wiped the surfaces down....massive improvement

Its just nice to know you are all here and I'm not alone in the nightmare that is housework!

BiancaCastafiore · 08/04/2008 19:39

Evening

Good to see you Luda I'm around this eve (dh working...) so can be on MSN if you're free for a chat x

TMH docs trip sounds a nightmare - hope you get the pills and your back eases soon.

Ruby I had some general councelling a couple of years ago and hated it to begin with but in a weird way I miss it now...

Haven't read much else, sorry Hope you're all OK

We've been out all day. Firstly went to the Wildlife park and had a great time apart from the complete anxiety attack I had on the little train ride round the park when I had to get the driver to stop the train so I could be sick Another mum very kindly wayched my two kids for me while they finished the ride and I went and sorted myself out. I need to get over these worries, it's getting worse in certain situations

anyway, we were there till early afternoon then went to the playground here on our way home and had a little picnic and a play till 4ish

Everyone is tired, ds was asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow and dd is reading in her bed I've just had a bath and am sitting here in my pjs

Janni · 08/04/2008 20:09

sorry - I'm being rude and butting in without reading the thread. A rubbish day Fly-wise -
only just finished the few jobs I posted this morning. Parents staying, mother driving me nuts by telling me I'm addicted to 'mumsline'

Regardless of the fact that I spent over an hour on the PC sorting out her travel insurance for her holiday to Spain, regardless of the fact that I am home looking after DD while the rest of my family is in Lanzarote, regardless of the fact that I have no other bloody social life whatsoever other than the lovely mums on here...

AAgghh

and they're staying till Saturday!

Sorry, just had to rant and I know you Flyladies won't tell me off like the rest of those hard-faced women on MN

So, now, jobs I should do before bed:
1)hang laundry 2)dishwasher 3)tidy kitchen
4)DH clothes away.

dylsmum1998 · 08/04/2008 20:13

TMH no it was the strand in good old gillingham! not been to one in london but am sure ours is much less grand . still we had a nice time

luda good to see your still with us

Bianca gladyou had a good day (despite the train ride)

i have sorted dinner washed up and decluttered about 1/4 of mine and dd's bedroom. we might both fit in there soon
dd's now in bed, ds is reding in his room and I'm half here and half watching Holby

TeenyTinyTorya · 08/04/2008 20:33

dylsmum1998 · 08/04/2008 21:51

i'm shattered have just washed the floors and put away the dishes that i had left on the drainer. everything is tidy for once before bed.
just need to clean the potty and sort out dd's lunch ready for tomorrow and pack her bag of spare clothes

tortoise · 08/04/2008 22:00

Evening all.
I think DS1 had a good day. He has spent most of it building his new lego police station!

Have been trying to tidy ready for the party tomorrow. It is looking better downstairs but not brilliant!

I have until 11am tomorrow to get it looking better (mainly upstairs) and cook sausages etc and make sarnies!

I am sooo tired!

dylsmum1998 · 08/04/2008 22:23

tort glad ds has had a nice day. and hope he has a good party
to be honest if your party is at home, i wouldnt worry toomuch about it looking perfect, it wont by the time the children have goone home! children are generally impressed by the goodies on offer not the dust on the skirting board- or whatever

tortoise · 08/04/2008 22:32

dylsmum1998 Very true. But i don't want them going home saying how messy the house is. I just can't get DD1's friends comment out my head. She came to play one evening after school, walked in and said'it really is messy in here isn't it'

So i am trying to make it look ok. Will chuck stuff in my room in the morning. I can shut my door and keep them out.

He has about 12 friends coming. A house full of 10/11 yr olds!!!! Am i mad?? lol!

Please send sunny thoughts this way! Then they can go out on the trampoline!

dylsmum1998 · 08/04/2008 22:41

ahh slightly older dc thani was thinking of. i had a comment like that from one of ds friends. i must admit i laughed it off- he was right! i'd decided to sort some stuff out so was everywhere whilst i sorted, then realised the time so ran to school leaving stuff as it was.

hehe i would just shove stuff behind a closed door as well.

12 children- you are either mad or patience of 12 saints!! LOL

sending lots of sunny thoughts your way. dont know where bouts you are, but we have sunny weather here tomorrow according to bbc website, so am hoping you catch some of it too

tortoise · 08/04/2008 22:45

I am in Somerset. I have a friend coming to help out! No games or anything planned. Will just let them play. PS2 and Wii seem to be what they want to do!

dylsmum1998 · 08/04/2008 22:52

ps2 and wii it is!!lol
dont think i'd plan any games either my ds hates party games now and he's only 9. chuckling at the thought of trying to get him and his friends to sit down and play pass the marcel LOL might try it see what he says

tortoise · 08/04/2008 22:55

lol @ pass the parcel.
i did want to do a feeling stuff blind folded game but will be too messy! lol!

Bewilderbeast · 08/04/2008 23:04

evening all

The kitchen is relatively clean and the prep work for tomorrow's tea is done so I can just throw it in the slow cooker in the morning.

Life insurance guy coming tomorrow night to see if we can get dp insured which would significantly reduce my worry quota

Just about to hang the washing up and then I think I'm going to bed. I ache all over today.

tmh I have tried giving dp places to put things, it fails miserably, I have tried guilt, shouting, loving gentle suggestions none of it works.

waves to grouchy
hi to luda ehm teeny jas tort dyl janni bianca fgs and apologies to anyone I missed

dylsmum1998 · 08/04/2008 23:05

lol i love games like that we did them when i had a halloween party the other year, lots of fun, think the grown up enjoyed it more lol

dylsmum1998 · 08/04/2008 23:14

Bewilder hi. hope you wake up less achy tomorrow
i'm off to bed now am shattered. have to get up tomorriw take dd to cm. then come home and do some serious studying I'm truggling to stay focused and just had an email they have brought my presentation a week forwards- great i was avoiding doing that one after i had finished the other assignments.
have never made apresentaion before i HATE standing up in front of people and talking- or anything really. I'm more a behind the scenes kinda person. bringing me out in a cold sweat and tight chest just at the thought of it. be just my luck to have asthma attack in the middle of the sodding thing!! oh well as long as i get a minimum of 40 i pass, so gonna aim there!!
