It is amazing how quickly the dds can eat breakfast and get dressed when it is snowing

Sounds like you are making good progress FGS. I hope he pain eases soon.

I reckon Bluewater will be ok dylsmum....the main roads clea very quickly unless there is alot of snow.

FunkyGlassSocks · 06/04/2008 08:37

Forgot to say. We have snow. DD1 is very excited and is making a snowman with DH as I type.

dylsmum1998 · 06/04/2008 08:49

dream it was on a mian road i had a scary moment in the snow- one of the ones on the way to bluewater! ok i dont have the big 8 seater anymore but still makes me nervous.

i had to go to the school to collect ds and another child i was cm at the time. had 3 under 2's to look after at the time, so after much thought and discussions with a friend decided as it was over a mile to school i would drive to save everybody freezing whilst i walked. as i come down a road with a slight hill as slowly as i could before joining a very busy road, i lost control a bit and hit the road going sideways with a car full of children. very scary moment, was lucky that the traffic lights up the road were red so no cars were coming towards me at the time. so apart from me swearing no major damage to anyone. did have to explain how the 2 year old manged to lern the shiiiittttttttt! tho her dad was great and said when i explained what happened he'd have said worse not to worry she'd soon forget it again . they have also changed the road where i was pulling out from now as turns out there have been a couple of incidences like that

DontDreamItBeIt · 06/04/2008 08:51

Oooh. Very scary!

dylsmum1998 · 06/04/2008 08:51

i was told afterwards it was because of the design of car i had ( an old toyota space cruiser, all the weight was at the front so the back just spun out as there no weight to hold it. it was explained bit more technical than that, but thats my interpretation of wht was said

BiancaCastafiore · 06/04/2008 08:54

FGS glad you're making good progress witth your recovery
Dyls dh and I wrote off a car in snow a few years ago so are both v nervous now...I hope it's all clear for me to get to work in the morning [nervous]

We're getting our waterproofs on and heading out now Pancakes for breakfast when we come back in

dylsmum1998 · 06/04/2008 09:00

oh dear i have 2 children wanting to jump out widnows to play in the snow!
the block of flats next to our arent as tall so there roof is level with our windows. both dc are watching out the window at the snow settling on the roof but not the ground. ds is saying cant we jump over onto the roof and play there! err no ds we are not even going to oopen the windows! lol it is settling on the grass outside now so give it a bit longer and we'll go down there and play a little bit safer

bianca hope it was just the car that was help. sno so pretty but so dangerous

dylsmum1998 · 06/04/2008 09:08

BiancaCastafiore · 06/04/2008 11:16

Helloo again
Sounds fun Dyls
We are just back from fun in the snow too Had a great time sledging in the fields along from our house I think dh and I possibly enjoyed it more than the kids!
We lasted almost 2 hours which is pretty good going really. The snow is melting a little but we may manage another sledge this afternoon...

Just about to make pancakes for lunch....

OP posts:
dylsmum1998 · 06/04/2008 11:31

ah cool bianca sledging sounds fun we dont have a sledge. the snow still coming down hard here, dd hands got cold so we only managed half hour or so- why dont they make babies gloves water proof? the only waterproof ones to fit her little hands were mittens which she wont wear cos she likes her fingers free . we gonna try and go out again a bit later.

dd now painting and ds on playstation

DontDreamItBeIt · 06/04/2008 13:41

I've shopped DP went to work late, so I could go with no children

He's out now, and the dds are playing at a neighbours house, so I will try and get the downstairs under control...

Ludaloo · 06/04/2008 13:45

I'm back from shopping too...have unloaded and we have all had spaghetti hoops on toast for lunch.

The snow has gone completely now, still a few flakes falling but it hasn't settled. The sun melted it all away in record time this morning.

Nutsaboutchocolate · 06/04/2008 13:59

Happy Birthday Tort

I know you said before love the snow so I hope you had some when you woke up.

Tortoise was dreaming of a white birthday, Just like shes never had before..........

We have had snow this morning it was all gone by 11am though. So for me it is a birthday eve white birthday. I wonder if I will wakeup to a white birthday?......

Thanks for your messages after my post on Friday. It is great that something is being done now, just a shame the rest of it had to happen before we got to this point. Mostly down the the new school DSs started at this summer. They really do care about the children getting the most from their school days. All they done was to try to get DS1 to do things he was trying his very best to get out of not doing.

I was feeling really good yesterday and even managed to not use my chair very much. It was nice to be able to walk around the house. I have to use walking aids to help with my balance but it was still a good feeling to be able to use them for most of the day. but today is not so good. My legs are very weak today.

I hope everyone are having a good Sunday. DC are outside playing at the mo. Getting muddy I bet, but at least they are having some fun.

I`m going to make some cakes now. MMmm maybe a large apple cake for tea tonight. We had a cooked lunch as mum and DD are going out for a while this evening. Maybe I will be back later once DC are in bed.

HN xxx

DontDreamItBeIt · 06/04/2008 14:33

Hi HN I missed your post the other day, but it is good to hear ds is getting the help he needs (at last) and you do sound happier. I'm glad you are enjoying your good days wrt mobility, too.
Do you have birthday plans for tomorrow?

Almost all our snow has gone. I'm going to chance hanging out some washing in a bit.

I've tidied, hoovered and mopped downstairs, and dp doesn't want a roast today, so I'm going to stick the meat in the freezer and do jacket pots for me and the children.

I'm going to go and get an old dvd player out of the loft and see if I can get it to work for dd1 now. She has the old xbox in her room, but the only dvd it will play is Bagpuss, and she is getting sick of i

DontDreamItBeIt · 06/04/2008 15:20

Just a quick post to let you know I'm not stuck in the loft

TheMadHouse · 06/04/2008 16:25

Afternoon all

I have done my daughterly duty and picked up mum and brought her for Sunday lunch and back home again and all this with a bloody bad back.

It has been snowing on and off all day, although it is not really laying. DH has managed to build a bin store for our whellie bins (1 rubbish, 1 green waste) and recyling bags and boxes.

We are getting there with the garden, although still loads to do.

I have spent some quality time with the DSs and are in the process of sorting out dinner

So catch you all later

GettingratherGROUCHYOSCAR · 06/04/2008 17:01

Almost a disaster! The Party started at 12, not 2 so he was late. Dh helped get him ready, I got sorted and he got theree and enjoyed himself [phew]

FURTHER DONES

Get him to the party
Unblock bathroom sink (I loved the satifying burping noise it made when the blockage cleared )
Make Ed's lunch
S&S worktops
Tidy table
Make lunchbox for tomorrow for Ed
Get his uniform ready
Get his bags sorted
Ironing
Put away Ed's clothes
Refil bird feeder
Bring in his baby sweetcorn plants (It's going to be frosty the next few mornings)
Load WM
Put dry laundry away
SIT DOWN

Belated Birthday greetings to Teenytiny

Thanks for your kind words EHM and TMH TMH Hope the back is improving

Tort hope you're having a lovely day. I keep thinking about the kids book 'Ridiculous' about you today

DH is making dinner so I can rest up for a little while

TheMadHouse · 06/04/2008 18:52

Boys are bathed and have had book time, they are having 10 mins of Bear in the Big Blue house and we are having a warm drink.

Most of my to dos are done.

I am going to take a couple of painkillers and have a bath and then back on with the Tens machine (which does provide some relief, so it is definaly musular pain)

GO That was close regarding the party

Where do the weekends go

dylsmum1998 · 06/04/2008 19:12

well i have done nothing today except wash up after cooking our meals and spend lots of time playing with my dc. and a lovely day it was too.
we are all showered and ready for bed now, ds has asked to watch daddy daycare so i think we all gonna curl up on sofa and veg out. see you all tomorrow.
as TMH says weekends do not last long enough! (not a direct quote- just my interpretation )

Bewilderbeast · 06/04/2008 20:01

happybirthdaytort

hello all

we were supposed to be going oop north today to see relatives but we got snowed off
I've been having a bit of a declutter and have filled two bin liners full of clothes for the charity shop and one for the clothing bank that are too scabby to wear but they can be shredded for whatever it is they do with the shredded bits.

DS has been absolutely bloody awful all weekend. DP has a black eye and lots of cuts on his face from him and I am covered in nip and scratch marks and have a whacking great headache from being headbutted. You wouldn't think he was only 17 months old and looks like an angel. Sometimes I am totally at a loo what to do with him.

tmh I hope the bath helps ease your back
