Morning All

OP posts:
Ludaloo · 23/03/2008 10:30

We are all washed and dressed, kids are playing on the wii.
I'm just doing some washing, decided, as the fire is in, to hang it all on the radiators instead of using the t/d.

I have a good few piles of washing to put away. I hate doing that, so i'm putting it off!

Dinner is in Roast pork with crackling and we are having all the trimmings including roast potaotes

I need to do a wee bit of ironing

I am also going to start cutting in the paint on the landing upstairs.

I think that DH may do more patio this afternoon, but spend some time with the mini's while I do a bit of painting

BiancaCastafiore · 23/03/2008 10:52

We're all treated. Ds had several nasty looking lice, dd had one, dh and I had none.

Kids are playing with the hotwheels cars which came with an Easter egg

Dd keeps saying "I'm puzzled, where are all the other eggs for us?" They have no more eggs! We only got them one each and some mini eggs to hide (which we'll do later)

PiL are going to come up for the day tomorrow as we won't see them at the get togtehr today (as we're not going) so I have to source some extra food from somewhere we were just going to have left-overs from todays roast supper but the PiL won't like that.

Better get on. Can headlice live in bedding etc? Should I wash allt he pillow cases etc?

BiancaCastafiore · 23/03/2008 10:54

Yum, TMH, roast pork!
We'll be having chicken with roast new pots, poast sweet pots, carrots, brocclli, stuffing...yummy! The kids both enjoy roast chicken so we hope for a nice easy meal (ds doesn't like any other meat so we hardly eat meat these days tbh) We'll prob have Easter nests for pud lol!

TheMadHouse · 23/03/2008 11:58

I would wash the pillow cases on a hot wash anyway - as it would worry me, even though they are only supposed to live in hair

We havent had roast pork in ages. DS1 is a chicken man and DS2 is an anything man - he he he

I have painted a third of the landing, but I think a second coat is going to be needed. I have gone for a white with a hint of blue. Other walls have covered in one coat - trust that it is the hardest to paint which needs two coats.

The Sun has come out, so DH will be outside after lunch

Hi,

Just come back from town to find not a solitary food shop open at all! (should have figured that out before the 30 mile round trip really!)

Supper will be some serious pot luck tonight!

bianca I always wash the bedding too...just because it makes me feel better.
Our health visitor once told me that when choosing a coat for your kids, avoid ones with fluffy collars and hoods as they transport headlice. I figure if they can live in fluffy hoods, they can maybe live in bedding.

....Hats are the same too...if children share hats, they can spread that way too.

OP posts:
Ludaloo · 23/03/2008 14:30

Hmmmm I really fancy a nice sunday roast...but I have put a pizza in instead, that will have to do! They can have toasties or something later.
Not ideal, but at least they won't starve!

BiancaCastafiore · 23/03/2008 14:42

I've got the washing machine working flat out to get rid of any creepy crawlies!

We've all been out to the pub for an egg hunt (laid on FoC - was fab!) Had 2 of the biggest glasses of wine ever so walking home with my arm round dh wasn't so much affection as needing someone to stop me swaggering
Raost dinner is cooking
Kids are playing on the playstation with dh

Everyone is happy and enjoying the day

Ludaloo · 23/03/2008 14:49

Sounds perfect bianca

Dh has been at work all morning, but has come home to watch the grand prix...pizza has been devoured!

Bewilderbeast · 23/03/2008 14:54

snow has melted

done

dinner in the slow cooker
bread in the oven - decided to forego the breadmaker for the day and make bread the long winded way

TheMadHouse · 23/03/2008 16:08

Snow has melted here too, but we keep having hail showers, so DH has taken over the painting on the landing, stairs and hall.

Bianca It is great that you are having a lovley day. Easter is all about family

Luda Erm...... dont really know what to say

Ruby We are decorating and laying a patio at Chez Mad this weekend. We have managed the sitting and dinning room and should have the stairs etc completed this eveing. I am hoping to attack the bathroom tomorrow, as mum is coming over to sit with the mini's. We then need to do DS1's new bedroom and then five more rooms - it is never ending, but once you do one they all look shabby. What colours are you going - we are very conservative

BWB I do bake bread in the machine but never done it by hand

Grouchyoscar · 23/03/2008 17:33

HELLO THERE

Quick Grouchy post to say Happy Easter to you all

I have been industrious today and even felt up enough to take Ed to the park this aft. But it was cold and when it started snowing we came home and played games. Ed has really taken to board games so I brought his crate of board games down and Mousetrap. Just been let go. Heh heh

The Easter Bunny left Ed some more Die cast Cars cars. Me and DH think we've got the lot and then Disney release a whole bunch more. Ed is watching Cars and making suggestions of additional models. I should rent him out to Mattel!

Tea almost ready so I'll wish you all a pleasant evening

DontDreamItBeIt · 23/03/2008 19:07

I need to post so I don't lose you

We've had a busy weekend, and dp has finished the plastering in the new bathroom, ad done other odd jobs, while I followed him round tidying up behind him.

I've read and saw Mr TM has been busy,, Bianca made it to the wedding and had a good day, but now has nits. Too mch else to remember, sorry.

TheTortoiseandtheEasterbunny · 23/03/2008 21:18

Evening all.
Had a fairly good day! Egg hunt was fun and enjoyed by all.
I seem to have come out with a cold so feel a bit grotty.
Bianca Glad you had a good time and a good day today. Shame about the nits.
of anyone who had snow. We had a snow shower this morning but rain too.
luda Hope the pizza was ok. I don't think any shops open on Easter Sunday!

dylsmum1998 · 23/03/2008 21:27

Evening everyone
hope every one has had a good easter
we had a nice day. dd didnt make the party as we had several runs this morning so got her daddy to come sit with her while i took ds. I'm shocked how busy the play area was, i would never hae expected it to be open had we not been invited to the party.
bumped into several people i know while there, one family i used to childmind before i had dd so had a good catch up there as havent seen them since christmas, then as i was leaving my aunt i havent seen for about 6 years spotted me and introduced me to my cousin ( her childrens) children, I'd met one of them sveral years ago and was very shocked to learn she is 12 now. strange how you expect children to stay how you last saw them, no matter how many years ago it was

dylsmum1998 · 23/03/2008 21:27

oh and i was seriously disappointed as after a couple of hours of good snow fall not one flake laid

TheTortoiseandtheEasterbunny · 23/03/2008 22:14

I forgot to say bloody oven has gone wrong! In the middle of roasting spuds and cooking pies. trip switch blew then oven wouldn't heat up. Luckily could use little top oven.
Does anyone know whats wrong with it? i am guessing themostat or something! Don't know if it can be fixed!

Why is everything breaking? And what will be next? Fridge? Freezer just after filling it?!

TheTortoiseandtheEasterbunny · 23/03/2008 22:21

found this info think that explains to me what is wrong with it!

TheMadHouse · 23/03/2008 22:34

evening all, last post of the night for me. Me and Mr Mad have finnished the hall, stairs and landing and started the family bathroom, but ran out of paint with just above the bl;oody door to paint.

So I will be off to B&Q to get some more paint and then start the downstairs loo and kitchen tomorrow whilst SH is doing the patio.

My Mum is going to watch the boys for a while.

Then we will have bedrooms x 3 and study/spare room to paint before we start on the guarage clear out.

I have definaly set a time limit on it before I go into hospital for my first operation.

I have a Becks Green Lemon in hand and it is rather nice kind of like sandy pop stuff - do try

TheTortoiseandtheEasterbunny · 23/03/2008 22:39

WOW TMH You are doing well. Bet the house is looking lovely.

TheMadHouse · 23/03/2008 22:43

Will do once it is finnished. It was builders matt magnolia and very marked and tired.

There is now space to paint since I have joined you lot FLYing.

The other thing with decorating all the skirting gets wiped and there is no cobwebs

Sorry about the oven

BiancaCastafiore · 24/03/2008 07:46

Morning Snowing again this morning but not settling

Up early with the kids again so I've been busy sorting laundry, emptying dw etc, I've even cleared a kitchen cupboard which has been a mess for ages Not quite what I wanted for a Bank Holiday morning but there you go...

PiL are arriving at lunchtime for the aternoon so I need to sort some lunch. I have onions (or poss just shallots) carrots, potatoes/sweet pots leeks, broccolli and tinned toms - can I make a decent soup with them? (SiL provides "proper" food for in-laws when they visit her - I have a reputation for "simple" food so would like home-made soup to be decent iykwm)

Bad luck with the oven Tort, you seem to be having a bad run of appliances lately! Did you ever replace your microwave?
TMH wow, you and dh are doing brilliantly! I wish we could get on a bit with some of the jobs which need doing round here....
Dyls sorry dd is still poorly Glad you had fun at the party
Jas glad you've been making progress around the house
Grouchy My two enjoy board games too but dd is a very bad looser so cheats

Think I'm going to go and have a bath. Dh is still asleep but I'm sure I can trust the kids not to wake him.....

dylsmum1998 · 24/03/2008 07:52

Hi bianca i often makae soup out of the ingrediants you have listed, except toms no specific reason for not adding them just havent . i think it makes a lovely soup and have made this for lots of people who "don't like" soup, but have cleared the lot!
so far today dd has no runs, so looks like i might be ableto go visit my sister today. just need to do a bit of clearing up before we go out. nothing drastic just gonna do the basics again
