tortoise · 28/02/2008 10:33

Morning all.
I am putting off doing a HUGE pile of washing up!
Just me here all day as DD2 is at pre-school So in theory i should get more done.

TR I am really bad at putting washing away too! I don't know why. I do think DD's have too many clothes and i can't fit them all in their draws. DS1 was very good at put his away yesterday.
So i still have DS2's, DD2's and mine to do. I did DD1's the other day.
Bianca Poor DD. Hope she feels better soo.
sagacious You can eat soon!
FGS Hope hosp goes ok later.

BiancaCastafiore · 28/02/2008 10:39

Goodo Getting it off your table and into the bedroom is a great start I usually fold the washing from the line/td into the washing basket, carry it all upstairs and unload into piles per person onto my bed (smaller piles, look easier) then at bedtime when we're all upstairs anyway I put all the clean stuff away in the correct places - seems to work for me.

Tort go and do your washing up!

tortoise · 28/02/2008 10:42

I am just eating a bag of mini eggs!
I fold washing of the line/TD then it ends up on my bed.
Stupidly then gets put on the floor in my room.
Once over run with clothes i put them into piles for each of us!
must get organised!

Dd is feeling brighter so is having a play on the computer upstairs. I'll run her a bath soon and encourage a lazy afternoon. Her temp have calmed down for now so hopefully whatever it was has passed.

FunkyGoldStar · 28/02/2008 11:55

Hi everyone, Lots being done!

Thanks Tort - but hospital not great. Knee is buggered and need surgery and then physio to sort it. Will mean a few weeks on crutches

Lol @ IC's dream

Trinity - I do my washing as follows.

  • Take off airer during day and put into 4 piles (1 for each of us).
  • Then put into basket in 4 piles iykwim.
  • At bathtime I take basket up and while bath is running I put DD1 and DD2s piles in their drawers/wardrobe.
  • Mine and DHs get put on our bed so we can put them away before we get into bed that night.

If the drawers are a tip and you're scared to go into them then take everything out and just put the clean washing in. Make them wear things from the pile of clothes on the floor in front of the drawers until everything has been washed and put away properly. Anything too small, bag up. Then hopefully have got into a better putting away routine by the time the clothes pile has gone.

tortoise · 28/02/2008 11:57

Oh no FGS Sorry to hear that.
I don't have room to keep 4 baskets. So mine all goes upstairs in one.

FunkyGoldStar · 28/02/2008 11:59

I only have 1 basket but I make 4 little piles in it (or 4 layers) if that makes sense.

tortoise · 28/02/2008 12:04

Ah i see. Good idea.

BiancaCastafiore · 28/02/2008 12:04

I do similar FGS
Sorry to hear about your knee - how long will you have to wait for surgery?

Janni · 28/02/2008 12:17
