Trinity really hope you manage to resolve your cleaner issue.

Hello to everyone else.
Sorry have t ogo, DS is attacking the keyboard from the new standing on sofa position. i also have to get cleared up before getting dd.
BBL hopefully

DontDreamItBeIt · 25/02/2008 13:57

I do feel a bit pathetic that I've been FLYing for 2 years, and still need this thread to get me to actually do stuff But it does work for me so I'm not going o give up.

The neverending nature and thanklessness gets me down, but when I cleaned the cooker and the windows at the weekend, dp was stunned and impressed, and it motivated him to do things he never gets round to as well.

Ds now playing on playstation (very special treat) He's whooping so I reckon he's better

He was so glassy eyed this morning, didn't know where he was half the time

The bloody power of youth

Doe this mean I have to do some housework ??

intravenouscoffee · 25/02/2008 14:11

Hello again. I have bought a rainbow coloured duster, a bucket and a super mop (very worrying that I didn't own a bucket before now ). Have dusted every available surface and scrubbed kitchen floor with new mop. Then the excitement wore off so I'm on here and having a cup of tea. Looks like you're all having productive days.
Trinity Hope you have some success getting a cleaner. Good luck with the sofa
Sag Of course you don't have to do any housework!
See you all later, off to put some drying in

Minkus · 25/02/2008 14:11

Right then I'm going to unload clean dishes/reload dishwasher and shine my sink! Then eat something. Will come back for more inspiration after that. Thanks Janni and Dontdreamitdoit, will put the babysteps list as my home page.

sagacious · 25/02/2008 14:19

Oh sod it
I need to get (but thanks for the get out clause intravenous!)

Going to hot spot the living room (as its fairly straight) so at least I'll have one good room

sagacious · 25/02/2008 14:20

JingleyJen · 25/02/2008 14:23

Afternoon all..
Still haven't started the ironing things gone wrong with the bathroom this morning so got back from pick up and had to start calling round to get some help for our builder.

Anyway DS2 now having a nap DS1 playing with his pirate ship so I better get going - or I could have a quiet cup of coffee.. Hmmm

DontDreamItBeIt · 25/02/2008 14:30

Ooh. I boiled the kettle and didn't make he tea. Just go time before the school run....

damewashalot · 25/02/2008 14:39

Right, have folded more clothes, put more on to dry and more to wash as remembered bath mat ds3 wee'd on last night then set timer and found the living room floor, well the living room end not dining end and ds has already dumped a book and a walkie talkie on it but I did my 15 mins so I'm now supposed to feel I've achieved, is that right?

Think this is why I struggled lat time I tried flying, I want it all to be better and stay that way and be better now and 15mins has made a difference but I want more, I just want to be better at this. How did those of you who have stuck with it get te hang of it? I just can't cope with the emails and the baby steps are painfully slow.

Sorry, for self pitying momemt there, nearly time to go do school run.

TheMadHouse · 25/02/2008 14:57

I have managed half the ironiong and now must go do my errands - deliver stuff to brother (12 miles) and should pop in and see mums too at the same time (same town) we live 12 miles to each of our parents - his one way and my mum the other!!!

All the shops etc are where my mum lives through - we are in the sticks.

I am noit sure what to do for sinner inspiration is failing me in spades. They had chicken, new potaoes and veg for lunch - so it doesnt need to be too heavy

Well done everyone with the baby steps

sushistar · 25/02/2008 15:19

Ok, I've had lunch (matzos, humous and cucumber sticks - extra brownie points for it being healthy!), and made most of dinner, and made a big pot of veggie soup for my lunches for the rest of the week.

Ds is down for a nap () so cup of tea and a biscuit I think. Then clean the kitchen. I might try expressing too while I'm drinking my tea.

DontDreamItBeIt · 25/02/2008 15:28

Well done Sushi Dame - Do you have a routine written down?
I found doing the babysteps helped me sort out a realistic rouine, and it keeps me on top of the basics. FGS has a good one too. Do you want examples?

Got to go so dd2 can do her homewok on here. Back later...

FunkyGoldStar · 25/02/2008 15:29

  7. Kelly?s Mission

Welcome all new people.

TrinityRhino · 25/02/2008 15:38

ashamed to say that a did a hotspot but not the mission, couldfn't face the sofas

FunkyGoldStar · 25/02/2008 15:48

Trinity - forget about the missions until you've back into the routines.

Here is my status:

  1. Clear away lunch things done
  2. Empty/reload dishwasher
  3. Hang out/collect washing done
  4. Swish & swipe downstairs loo
  5. 15 minutes
  6. DRINK SOME WATER done
  7. Kelly?s Mission not done leather sofa with no gaps for things to get lost in
damewashalot · 25/02/2008 16:03

Routine??? me not my strong point I have to say I've always been a go with the flow kind of girl but think I really do need to get myself sorted this time, I have no real worries about coping with 4 kids, it's the house that panics me. All suggestions of how to sort myself out gratefully received Does writing it down really help? I've never managed to put pen to paper.

Minkus · 25/02/2008 16:08

Well I have unloaded/loaded dishwasher and hung up a load of washing and put another load in. Will tackle worksurfaces now they look a bit grimy. WOn't shine sink until after that as otherwise it'll just get grimy too!

FunkyGoldStar · 25/02/2008 16:10

damewashalot. writing it down really helps. I have mine on the computer though which means i can jig it about a bit.

I am happy to send it anyone if they CAT me.

FunkyGoldStar · 25/02/2008 16:11

I've done the dishwasher and my 15 mins was packing the supermarket delivery away. I'll make the girls dinner in a bit but DH is working late so wont do any more until they go to bed when I will tidy up toys and put washing away.

sagacious · 25/02/2008 16:46

Unloaded d/w
Another wash on
One load drying on airer
Ironed a couple of shirts
15 mins in kitchen

Ds now seems absolutely fine, I'm trying to get him to sit still but he's back to his manic self again Thanks for the good wishes

trinity hope you find a good cleaner
damewash I tend to write it on here as it helps to tick off stuff (and boast about it )
Ds wanted to make veggie soup (i've never made it off to google some recipes and might make it tommorrow

bbl

sushistar · 25/02/2008 16:58

Veggie soup: fry onions. Add water and some stockcubes. Add assorted chopped veggies. Simmer.

That's it!

PuppyDogTails · 25/02/2008 17:42

Wow, what a busy thread today! Nice to see you Trinity, welcome Minkus and sushi and any other newbies I've missed.

I've done nothing but my morning routine today, I've spent two hours making, writing and posting invitations to DS's first birthday party (2 months off, I'm just getting ready), which I decided was enough of a task for one day.

We seemed to have cracked the sleep problems - DS is now happily sleeping 7:30pm to 6:30am and settling in his cot for 2 hours after dinner. Those 2 hours are just wonderful!

Hope everyone's well and having a good day.
