I've rung like 12 places and noone comes anywhere near where we live
I still keep crying
gecko wont get off me
I'm not being a good mummy today
I can't manage it

sushistar · 25/02/2008 11:11

Trinity, i read your other thread but didn't post. But it inspired me to come on here....
DS feeds all day (he's 12 weeks) so i need to be doing very little baby steps - i keep planning too much then get down when it doesn't happen...

List:

  1. Get dressed
  2. Put nappy wash on
  3. Gather washing up and do it
  4. make dinner ready for tonight
scorpio1 · 25/02/2008 11:12

sorry to butt in - TR put up a notice in supermarkets, my parents got their cleaner from there. Just put cleaner wanted, where you are and hours needed and phone number. Also try local paper?

ibblewob · 25/02/2008 11:15

Morning everyone. Welcome Trinity and good luck with getting started on everything.

Am reading these posts slightly frustrated as am 39+1 weeks pregnant so am seriously limited in housework capabilities! It sounds totally mad but everything seems a little bit easier (and DH certainly much happier) if the house isn't a complete disaster. I know I should just make the most of having the best excuse not to do anything at all!

Hope everyone's enjoying the fantabulous weather

DontDreamItBeIt · 25/02/2008 11:16

Was just about to suggest the same thing.

I'm finally eating breakfast, nappies are on the line, and nex wash is i the macine.

Sushi - Welcome Sounds like a reasonable list with a small baby. Congratulations.

Trinity, sorry x posts.

Hoow horrible for you. You havn't been mean or horrible to that lady - she is just dealing with stuff. It's not your fault, really.

Sit down. drink tea and hug gecko. Then maybe take dcs out of the house for a bit if it's not raining? Then come home and do your hotspot - your 1st day of re-FLYing will storm to a glorious finish!

TrinityRhino · 25/02/2008 11:31

thanks everyone
I've actually managed to contact a company who thinks they may have someone who can clean for me
I'm waiting for a phonecall from the lady I just spoke to before wednesday afternoon

I feel really stupid as I ended up crying on the phone to her but she was really lovely

right hotspot!!!

I think I will do the sofa inbetween the cushions bit
ugh
wheres the rubber gloves

bossybritches · 25/02/2008 11:37

Morning Ladies!

babystepper here-still struggling with working FT & trying to control the house!

Trinity- if you can't get a regular cleaner would you be able to afford a once-a-month-blitz? not sure if any of these are near you?

A friend with 3 young ones does that & it got her house square within 4 months, they are expensive (but probably the same as 4 weeks of a cleaner)but it's her "treat" & enables her to keep on top of the rest of the chores during the month. If she has a bad month she knows at least it will be bottomed by them next time. She concentrates on the laundry & swiping down surfaces as she can.

Just a thought!

TrinityRhino · 25/02/2008 11:48

thats definitely foo for thought bossy
stil haven't tackled the sofa

sushistar · 25/02/2008 11:50

i havn't started either trinity - baby started crying

TrinityRhino · 25/02/2008 12:02

the lady I uoset earlier has just texted me to apologise for being so sharp
I replied saying I neevr meant to upset her and sorry for her loss

I feel much better now
I hope she is alright

Janni · 25/02/2008 12:27

Wow - I can't keep up with the thread today. Trinity - keep it REALLY simple, one step at a time. Sagacious - that sounds very tough for you and your DS.

DD and I are battling a bit today, but I'm winning - just. I cannot abide being SHOUTED at by a three year old and I am determined she will not get what she wants unless she speaks properly to me, which she is perfectly capable of doing when reminded...

Next jobs: hang laundry, prep service wash for launderette, do DDs physio

DontDreamItBeIt · 25/02/2008 12:28

Glad she got back to you

I haven't finished my morning routine, either. I got distracted by cooking.
Tonighs tea is almos done though
I need to buy butter now to make ds' birthday cake. I'll have to get it from the corner shop on the school run this afternoon or I'll waste another hour in the supermarket.

I completely missed your earlier post sagacious - I hope ds is better soon.

TrinityRhino · 25/02/2008 12:46

have folded lots of clothes and the rhinos and I have had lunch

TheMadHouse · 25/02/2008 13:02

Trinity Glad to see you joined us.
Dream Dont worry I am managing with my ladder thing for my other anixieties, but this one is proving more difficult.

The boys were great at playgroup, but DS1 has been a nightmare since threw his lunch on the floor - monster

He is currently watching the lion kin.

I have another load of washing in the dryer
S&S the kitchen

Thats pretty much it

Need to:

Sort Dinner for all
Go to brothers
Do the ironing
Sew some clothes (repairs)

damewashalot · 25/02/2008 13:08

So...... have folded dry washing, got more drying and more in the washer, have done bathroom and we have had lunch. Ds will not go to sleep and the house looks like a bomb went off in it but at least my hall is staying tidy, I'm clinging to that and the clean bathroom as if I can do it there and keep it that way then maybe I stand a chance with the rest.

Will have a quick read then do more.

Minkus · 25/02/2008 13:25

Hello everyone

I need to relearn how to be a flybaby. I was one once many moons ago when on mat leave with ds (now 3) and I am currently 21wks pg with dc2. Am off work due to ongoing (but thankfully not constant) hyperemesis, and the house is a complete tip.

As I am at home all day the housework is my responsibility, but sadly I am really unmotivated! DS goes to nursery currently 4 afternoons per week (4 days a week when I'm at work)- although he's booked in for full days I just can't get us ready any earlier than getting him there for lunchtime.

I don't want to get ds to nursery any earlier in the morning necessarily but want to use my time wisely instead of staying in our pj's until 11.30 and doing nothing with my time, which is all I do at the mo. Hence place is an absolute shit tip.

Help! Where do I start? Just look at everything and there's so much I can't even think about it

Janni · 25/02/2008 13:33

Welcome Minkus. I find if you pick the couple of jobs that are aggravating you the most, post them on here, do them then come back and repeat the process...that it helps break it all down.

And now, taking my own advice

  1. empty dishwasher 2) tackle urgent post
DontDreamItBeIt · 25/02/2008 13:48

Minkus If you've done it before it will be easy. Would babysteps help? I always find the shiny sink is the best starting point, then work away from the sink.

I have finally finished my Morning_Routine
1 Make bed
2 Washing machine
3 Breakfast INCLUDING ME
4 Wash up/shine sink
5 Wipe table/high chair
6 Clear surfaces
7 Packed lunches
8 What's for tea? (Caulifower cheese - just need to put the oven on when I go out to get dd1)

So, I'm dressed, baby changed, got half way thru making dinner but he started screaming so feeding him now. Still need to finish making dinner, put washing on and do washing up. [sigh] it's 1:30 and i'mfeeling discouraged.

sushistar · 25/02/2008 13:51

And i havn't had lunch!

damewashalot · 25/02/2008 13:51

It's reassuring to know that the world is full of other mums sat looking at the mess not knowing where to start isn't it? Trinity, I really feel or you, lets both try and stick with it this time.

I feel so overwhelmed most of the time that I end up not doing anything at all That's what's good about threads like this where everyone supports and encourages each other

Right I am going to fold more clothes, put more on to dry then set timer and find the living room floor, then post back on here.

DontDreamItBeIt · 25/02/2008 13:54

Sushi - you are doing fine. When mine were tiny, if I ended the day with us all dressed, and fed, it was a good day. If dp got home and only two out of the three of us were crying it was a very good day!
