Toothache again. It is not so cold this morning, but is really dark and peaceful, so I have made a hot milk taken some painkillers and am going to try for some more sleep in 15 mins or so when they kick in.

Catch you all later

Morning

TMH, hope you manage to get a dentist appt today. I was pleased to hear ds2 eye was improving

Tort Keep missing you - I'm so tired I can't seem to focus on the computer screen in the eves- hope you're not too poorly with the cold and that you all feel better soon x

We went swimming last night, it was great - the childrens pool was almost empty - just us and one other family DD even managed to swim a few strokes

Dd was the one keeping me awake last night - she had a bad dream, ended up in my bed and proceeded to snore all night!

I keep browsing interiors books/magazines at the moment and wishing my house could look like the ones pictured I'm going to spend a little while doing some more in the utility room now while the kids watch some telly before breakfast.

Back later x

intravenouscoffee · 22/02/2008 07:42

Morning all. My cleaning urges will be put to the test today as SIL is visiting and her house always loooks spotless. Trying to console myself with the fact that she has 2 cleaners but still...

Done so far:
Dressed
Washing on
Breakfast

Just off to clean the bathroom - what joy!

TMH - Glad to hear DS's eye is better. Hope you have a lovely day with him.

Bianca - I've started limiting myself to one interiors magaine a month otherwise I get too depressed about the fact that our house was decorated by maniacs with a fetish for primary colours

Back later

ludaloo · 22/02/2008 07:48

Morning

TMH Hope you got some sleep, and you get an appointment to get it looked at. (Toothache really is the worst isn't it )

Hi Bianca I too am dreaming of a new home/decor....its very depressing really!
Glad swimming went well, sorry to hear DD had a bad dream, hope she is ok this morning.

Well all 3 kids are in school/nursery today.
DD2 is only in nursery for the morning though. I have to help out today as well, as they are going to walk to the Post Office for a look around (this term they are looking at "people who help you")
Gawd knows how everyone is going to get in the Post Office though! It is just about big enough to fit 2/3 adults in, let alone 12, 2-4 year olds!

Anyway, had better get dressed, see you all in a bit xx

ludaloo · 22/02/2008 07:51

ohhh x posts.... Morning IVC
2 Cleaners! ah well no wonder your sister has a spotless home....I wouldn't worry at all
I did the bathroom yesterday...my most hated room to clean in the whole house! (I'd even rather clean out the cupboard under the stairs...and that is really grim!)

BiancaCastafiore · 22/02/2008 07:51

IVC, hope you manage to get your house ready today.
I don't buy interiors magazines(we get some free at work as we advertise in them) but found a couple of old ones plus I dug out a couple of books when I was looking for ideas for sprucing up dds bedroom. Now I'm feeling and surrounded by clutter! I do prefer a lived in look to most of the stark pics in books/magazines anyway (well, this is what I tell myself anyway lol!)

BiancaCastafiore · 22/02/2008 07:52

x posts - morning Luda

BiancaCastafiore · 22/02/2008 07:55

Make me go and sort the utility room while the kids are happy - I'll regret it otherwise!
Dd wants to do craft today so I won;t be doing any other housework but would really like to get the cupboard finished in the utility room....

BiancaCastafiore · 22/02/2008 08:00

I've just remembered - when I was sleeping last night I dreamt about you Luda! I was taking part in a game show and for some reason one of the questions was "How do you spell Ludaloo?" I was dead chuffed cos I got it right
?!

BiancaCastafiore · 22/02/2008 08:01

Right, enough! I'm off to do the utility room instead of sitting here talking to myself - back later x

TheMadHouse · 22/02/2008 08:24

OH Second good morning to all

IVC Why do you need two cleaners, surley that is just plain greedy and she should give you one - he he he

Luda Enjoy your morning at the post office - rather you than me

Bianca I love crafty stuff, just dont get the time to do it at the moment, maybe when the boys get bigger

I think I was born for a clutter free home and would bin all the nik naks if I could, but DH is a bit differnt so we compromise.

I was looking at beding for the boys new bunkbeds last night and like these duvet covers and these www.marksandspencer.com/gp/product/B00119OY0G/sr=1-11/qid=1203668576/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&node=&m=A2B O0OYVBKIQJM&keywords=&mnSBrand=core&size=9&rh=n%3A54082031&page=2 throws (DS1 has a lightweight duvet and a throw). The walls will be pale blue and DS1 currently has blue curtains with a read car on the bottom of them. I want it to be quite simple and can grow with them

Re the dentists I have a real issue with my aniety and dentists, so just making the call is killing me

OP posts:
Shannaratiger · 22/02/2008 08:24

TMH hope you manage to get your tooth sorted today. Glad DS's eye is getting better.

RubyAndgoNumberOneFan · 22/02/2008 08:27

BC What makes you think you're talking to yourself? The 5 posts in a row? [snigger] Morning! I hope you're in the utility room now and won't see this post until you come back to tell us about your hard work sorting it all out!

Thanks for the thread TMH. I'm sorry to hear about the toothache and lack of sleep. I hope it goes well for you at the dentist. {{get better vibes coming your way}}

Hi luda and ic.

If you haven't read the last couple of posts from yesterday, you'll wonder about the name. Here is part of my post copied and pasted. "Oh, yes. I have something to confess. @Earlier I decided to get myself a new nickname. So...I changed my name and then tried to post but couldn't remember how exactly I'd written it, so I couldn't log in and post! It feels a bit late in the day, now! I think I'll change it tomorrow as it's too long. I don't know what to, though! I'm well overdue a change." So.....it's me being silly. Nothing new there! I do seem to be able to remember it better now so I might stick with it for a while.

I must crack on with brekkie and stuff. See you later!

FunkyGoldStar · 22/02/2008 08:28

Bllody hell. Stop talking everyone. How can I possibly catch up?

I feel rubbish. I caught DDs cold. It has been at least 10 days since my last one. Last night I ordered a light box. I am sure most of my despondency is down to SAD.Every year in February I have this realisation and then do nothing about it. Boots have 20% off so I just ordered one. I'm also getting DH to take a few days off in March so we can all go away for a few days. Not really a holiday but a change will help.

Anyway, morning routine is done and we're going out this morning.

Have a guest coming next weekend so I've already told DH this weekend is for blitzing the spare room which has been a little neglected of late.

Anyway hope you're all ok.

FunkyGoldStar · 22/02/2008 08:29

Btw, love the name numberonefan. I know Ruby especially will be singing to herself with happiness when she sees it

TheMadHouse · 22/02/2008 08:34

Morning to those I missed

FGS I have a Lumie alarm clock and it is great I can not recomend them hightly enough, I was so bad at getting up on dark morning, but not anymore!!!

OP posts:
Shannaratiger · 22/02/2008 08:38

What is a Lumie alarm clock?

BiancaCastafiore · 22/02/2008 08:42

lol NUmberOneFan, I forgot to mention your name change - very nice (I'm feeling a bit left out though! I have no fans )

TMH I love that bedding, very nice. I'm with you re the dentist (or any type of call/appt tbh) - best wishes, hope you manage to call x x
In th eutility room I have found a couple of decorate-your-own... type of sets for dd so we'll be doing them today. Ds won't be interested so I expect he'll have his turn on Lego Star Wars instead!

FGS I need to tackle our spare room too - no visitors due though so it'll be left till we're threatened with someone needing to use it!
I think I suffer from SAD a bit too, migt look into a lightbox...

Shanna hello

Well, I've done another shelf in th ecupboard. Some things are clearly just rubbish/recycling but the main problem is the stuff I'm removing which needs re-homing elsewhere - nightmare. I'll be pottering round finding new homes for kids artwork etc for days to come!

FunkyGoldStar · 22/02/2008 08:45

This is the one I ordered

TheMadHouse · 22/02/2008 09:17

This is what I have [http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1028766&wblinktype=RELPL body clock]]

I have had it for 7 years and it really helps me both with getting to sleep and waking up. You can set a sun set and sunrise, so that the light slowly dims etc.

I also find that I need at least 30 mins in the daylight each day and do try to walk with the boys each afternoon.

DS2 has a bodyclock junior We figured that is would grow with him and he could use it long term. I used it as a nightlight for feeding.

PuppyDogTails · 22/02/2008 09:28

Morning all, hope everyone's OK, feeling for you with the teeth TMH.

Well it seems to be working with DS, the last 4 mornings he's woken between 6:30am and 7:00am. I've been going to bed at 10:00pm too, just in case, so I'm full of beans. I've been getting up with DP at 6:00am too so I've had at least half an hour to do chores before he wakes up. 'Tis all good.

I've started to do a rota so that the rest of the house helps with the chores when I go back to work in a couple of months. I'm also writing a set of extremely patronising rules for everyone to follow with the hope that it will cut out a lot of the clutter:

  1. If you get something out, put it back when you have finished with it (eg a book)
  2. If you finish something, put it in the bin and replace it (eg toilet roll, shampoo bottle)
  3. If you spill something, wipe it up straight away
  4. Don?t leave clothes or shoes lying on the floor - put clean things away, put dirty washing in the basket
  5. If something of yours is on the stairs when you go up/down, take it with you
Any ideas for any more?
BiancasBIGGESTfanEVER · 22/02/2008 10:02

Hello

Well I am back from the Post Office stint...was ok actually, and they were all very sweet, as they had written a letter to themselves and all bought a stamp, then all posted it too.

Have to get cracking on the house now noone is here! (very quiet!)

xx

BiancasBIGGESTfanEVER · 22/02/2008 10:04

P.s...Puppydog I really like your rota idea!

BiancaCastafiore · 22/02/2008 10:23
