its not looking too bad actually today

BiancaCastafiore · 22/02/2008 10:46

My utility room is looking great(ish) It's the best clear-out I've ever managed in that room so I'm feeling very about it. I need dh to put some hooks on the back of the door and move the kids coat hooks up a bit higher now their coats are getting bigger
Dd has done some nice pictures of our cat in the past so I might get some cheap frames and put them on the wall in there to cheer it up a bit

The rest of the house is a pig-sty but I think we'll head out for a walk and get some air.

to EHM

BiancaCastafiore · 22/02/2008 10:47

Luda I have no idea where that dream came from [daft]

BiancasBIGGESTfanEVER · 22/02/2008 10:53

LOL!

Shannaratiger · 22/02/2008 10:53

I'm getting very confused with everyone's name change, it doesn't take much.
Morning routine is now done. Ds is in bed and won't wake up until lunchtime. I am going to catch up in the bedroom, while dd watches night garden and am then going to do my thigh trainer.
FGS hope your cold clears up enough for you to enjoy your guest at the weekend.
bianca well done for getting the shelf sorted. Glad i'm not the only one who clears one cupboard and then spends another 2 days havign to tidy up the others to be able to put the removed stuff away, i'm sure FLYlady would have something helpful to say about this.
Puppy for ds's good sleeping. Glad you're full of beans.
BBfE glad your post office visit was a success, teh letter idea ws so lovely and v. appropriate as i heard on the news this morning that it's 'national letter writing day'

Any way i had better get moving as night garden is about to finish.
Have a good day
BBL

BiancaCastafiore · 22/02/2008 11:20

BiancaCastafiore · 22/02/2008 11:22

shanna I love that you time your day by what's on Cbeebies I remember I used to do that lol!

PuppyDogTails · 22/02/2008 12:28

Can I just ask - do you all have window cleaners?

I have lived in this house for about 7 years and for the first 6 years and 51 weeks the windows were never cleaned . I've just realised what a difference it makes to have clean windows, the rooms looks so much brighter! I actually enjoy cleaning them too, I've got a squeegee and everything, it's quite therapeutic. As I'm leaning out of an upstairs window though, I'm thinking 'there must be an easier way to do this'...

Shannaratiger · 22/02/2008 12:39

EHM the dc's are getting better thanks, DD you wouldn't know she has CP she has about 4 spots and isn't ill at all- just rude adn annoyign. DS is now teething but is gettin back to his usual laughing self. He finishes the ab today so hopefully he will have his appetite back, although he did eat an adult bowl full of soup yesterday , thought i might get to finish it. Hope you had a good time at the park.
Bianca 'In the night garden' made oru bedtime routine and stopped so much stress adn arguements. I'm have nightmares about them stopping it before DS is about 5.
Puppy we do have a window cleaner occasionly, adn we live in a ground floor flat.

I have now eaten my sandwich, ds is still asleep dd is falling asleep in the chair so had better get her lunch to wake her back up.

DontDreamItBeIt · 22/02/2008 12:51

HELLO All

No window cleaner. We've got windows with loads of tiny panes of glass, and the wood is so rotton they are about to fall apart. I think the dirt is keeping them together

I've been to toddler group and the third load of washing is in the machine but not much else achieved
I've got Virgin media people coming round later to put in cable tv, so I will be offline ad I'l have to do something then

RubyAndgoNumberOneFan · 22/02/2008 12:53

PuppyDogTails - No, I don't have a window cleaner. I do the downstairs windows - or else one of the dcs do them - now and again and I agree, it makes a huge difference! I live fairly close to the sea so sometimes we get lots of sand in the air and it makes the windows really dirty.

luda I love the name change and I'm pleased to see that BC does, too. We're a mad lot, aren't we?

Ok. I've done quite a bit today. I won't go into detail because I really need to go food shopping. Before I go, are there any lurkers or occasional posters who'd like to post today?

BiancaCastafiore · 22/02/2008 12:54

We've had a walk/scooter Feel good for getting out in the air.
Have come home and my heart sank as we walked in the door and I remembered what a mess we'd left the house in Need to get straightened up soon.
We're going to have lunch, then the kids can watch some telly while I hoover then, finally, dd and I can do some craft

I'm online on MSN now Luda sorry to have missed you earlier x

BiancaCastafiore · 22/02/2008 12:56

I do have a window cleaner She comes once every 3/4 months thank goodness as I'm a terrible window cleaner!

Bewilderbeast · 22/02/2008 13:48

afternoon all

Done
WM on
Washing hung up/in TD
toys/books in bedroom tidied
ds taken to granny's

TheMadHouse · 22/02/2008 13:48

I have a window cleaner he comes once a month is and is £5 per go and £6 with the conservatory for the outides. I do the insides though.

I have just done my home blessing and am really hot. Going to have a cuppa before DS2 wakes up. DS1 has rang to say he has made cakes and buscuits with Grandma and is making traffic light jellys. I hope they both enjoy it, as I would like them to do this on a bi-weekly basis, as I have really enjoyed one on one time with DS2.

Tonight is DATE night, so I am doing steak for me and DH and am going to light the candles etc on the dinning table.

I have the upstairs to clean adn four black sacks to take to the charity shop and then me and DS2 are off to a friends for coffee.

Now tha it has happened once, definitely encourage a regualr arrangement, TMH. I'm glad it is looking like there is not going o be any lasing damage to ds2s eyes.

I've just relised the cable man will need to get into the cupboard under the stairs, and all along thi wall which is full of stuff. I'll get moving on the cleaning fromt. I have to keep stopping o wake ds up. I can't let him sleep now or he won't go to bed tonight, but he was up at 2am for nop apparent reaon, so he is tired.

damewashalot · 22/02/2008 14:43

Lots of talking today!

We were out all morning but I did manage to swish and swipe while I was in the bathroom this morning rather than later when I remembered.

Fell asleep after lunch but have sort of tidied kitchen and half hoovered since so not doing too bad for me. have to hoover in bursts as ds hates it and screams in terror

Hope all doing ok, if I stop and read now will never finish hoovering

intravenouscoffee · 22/02/2008 17:02

Hiya. SIL has been and gone. Despite my reservations we had a really nice afternoon. She's lovely and not the sort to make comments about the house or anything - it's definitely my hang up! The 2 cleaners do the whole house and the ironing between them. The house is a 3 storey, four bed town house so is quite a lot of work and (if I'm being completely honest) if I had the money I'd have whole host of cleaners and someone to cook my meals too so I'm probably just However, in the real world I have to FLY and I'm sure I'm a better person because of it

tortoise · 22/02/2008 17:35

Hello.
I am feeling sorry for myself today. I have got a cluster of little sore blisters on my lip and my lip feels HUGE! Pharmasist says not cold sores but i think they are! very painful.

Had a good afternoon while DD's were at contact. DS2 ended up going to a friends house and i spent a few hours playing Monopoly on the PC with DS1.

My house is complete tip! I have managed to do a quick clear up in the front room but no where else is tidy.

loving the name changes lol!

PuppyDogTails · 22/02/2008 17:35

£5 - is that all a window cleaner costs? What am I worrying about!?

Well I'm quite pleased with how my first week back FLYing has gone, it just makes you feel confident that it's all going to get done eventually and having a clean sink really does give you an impetus to keep the rest of the kitchen relatively straight.

Have a good weekend y'all

Janni · 22/02/2008 17:38

Hello ALL
Been away to a hotel with DH and the kids Mon-Fri so feel quite rested, but have that post-holiday feeling now when I look around and see the washing, unpacking, sorting etc needed and the kids are sad the holiday's over.

Where to start?
I'm going to unpack.

tortoise · 22/02/2008 17:40

I don't have a window cleaner either, I can't remember the last time upstairs windows werte cleaned.

TheMadHouse · 22/02/2008 17:59

Remeber that I am in the deep dark north, although when we were dawn sawth it was only £8.

DH is picking up DS1, DS2 is bathed and in his PJ's watching the guy off spooks do Jackenory Junior, so I have made myself a cuppa and am getting his milk ready.

I have had the best Friday Ive had for ages. I got a photo off mum of DS1 holding cakes and looking very pleased with himself - I can not wait to see him.

Flywise I just have some ironong to do and a darks load of washing once DS1 and DH are in Pj's
