ludaloo · 21/02/2008 07:52

Well I have toddler group at 10am, but apart from that I am at home.
Mission is a good one, as mine need doing.

Guinea pigs need a clean out
Washing needs doing
House needs a good hoover
Cuboards and appliances need wiping down
Bathroom needs a good scrub

That's all I can think of for now

Catch you all in a bit

Hello to all. I'm at home today and on my own as our au pair is on holiday. I'm enjoying having the house to ourselves again truth be told, though usually when I come home from work I can see that she's hoovered, cleaned the kitchen etc so I don't have loads to do. Dh is horrendously busy in work atm. It'll all sort out but not for another month or two. Anyway.....

luda I've been getting static shocks for a week or so, too! I have been wearing a Hawkshead fleece top and everytime I take it off I am carrying a shock around until I touch someone. The kids run away! I notice it coming out of the car as well. I wonder what it is? The atmospherics with us, perhaps?

I noticed on the thread yesterday that Ruby's talents were being noticed. I'm Ruby's and go's biggest fan. The rest of you can wait in line!

Hey EHM We're on the same thread at almost the same time!

BiancaCastafiore · 21/02/2008 09:37

Morning

EHM Hope Ellie is OK.
Simply Hello! Thanks for your email last week
Luda enjoy toddlers, I miss toddler group
TMH How is ds2 this morning?

The kids finally went to sleep over an hour after putting them to bed last night so we're having a lazy morning. They want to share a room again tonight so I'll probably let them and I can make a start painting the woodwork in dds bedroom.

I slept badly again last night so am groggy and head-achy this morning. We were invited to go on a trian journey with some friends today but it was short notice and I can't do a trip like that without a certain amount of warning feeling a bit with myself.
We might take the bikes to the park in a while instead.

I need to
~tidy up the mess I made sorting teh utility room cupboard.
~do some laundry - washing, drying and putting away
~usual routines
~pop to village shops

We're thinking we'll take the kids swimming this evening so I need to either do an early supper or a late one...will see how much energy the kids have by mid-afternoon and decide what to cook then.
See you later x

ludaloo · 21/02/2008 09:38

Back from the school run, and had to quickly nip to the chemist in the next village to pick up a repeat prescription.

Simply Ahhhh maybe all this static is something to do with the weather then? My friend always says snow is on the way when she feels staticky (is that a word!?) but I'm not so sure snow is comming.
Have a good day at home in peace today

EHM hope Ellie gets better soon xx

Hi to Mad too, hope you are not too long at the hospital.

Well I have sorted the washing out...just trying to find the little net thing that the tablets go in
Dishwasher is on
Breakfast stuff cleared away
Almost time to head out to toddler group, so I'll catch you all later

ludaloo · 21/02/2008 09:41

x-posts Bianca (I started reading your post thinking it was what I had just written ...got very confused for a moment there!)

Hope you have a good day...it is raining here at the mo, so no park for us today.

DontDreamItBeIt · 21/02/2008 09:42

Morning

Toddler group at 10 for me, too, then tidying up so dd1s friend doesn't think we live in a total tip when she comes for tea tonight

Hi EHM

I hope dd is ok oday bianca

Your ds sounds lovely Glitter - I'm glad you made up.

Shannaratiger - Is dd very itchy?I just gave piriton syrup to mine. I didn't find creams helped at all tb,and dd1 would,'t let me touch her at all when she had it.

No static here luda Simply Enjoy a peaceful house. I know what you mean about having the place to yourself.I don't think I'd enjoy harin even if she did all the housework!

My morning routine is (sort of ) done, and washing is on line. Ithink it will get rained on while I'm out, but I'm going to chance it.

damewashalot · 21/02/2008 09:44

I get shocks from everything when it goes cold and dry, always have.

Someone kick me off my bum but gently please, need to do stuff but so tired.Got friend coming round but she's a super woman type with tidy house and time to bake and grow veg and all sorts of organised things not like me then I can do those thigs just not all together and not the tidy house.

Simply · 21/02/2008 09:52

I'm just finishing a cup of coffee and am having a quick break before doing some more.

BC - Yes, I wouldn't mind if she was out and about a bit but she only seems to really go out if she's walking the dog or going somewhere with us. I really want her to start going places by herself and not expecting us to have several things laid on for her to do on a w/e. I think the static is fond of luda and me! Probably a mid Wales thing.

luda Have fun at the toddler group.

Jas My washing is out and getting wet. I must check the forecast to see what it's going to do. There's not a glimpse of blue sky anywhere. I might light the fire later and enjoy an evening in front of the fire with dh.

Right. Must crack on. Will come back at 11am with a 'done' list. See you later!

Simply · 21/02/2008 09:55

Hello dame. How are you? Do you remember me? That house is still for sale, you know! I think of you whenever we pass through CC. Did I read on a thread that you're pg? I'll wait for an answer before writing more or giving you a gentle push. Be kind to yourself is my suggestion to people finding anything hard. Treat and talk to yourself as your best friend would. It works!

BiancaCastafiore · 21/02/2008 10:16

It's looking like rain here now
We have borrowed Shrek 3 from a friends so perhaps we'll pop to the shop and get some treats then curl up and watch the film

The utility room still needs attention (it's a never ending task) so I'll need to spend some more time there if I can.

Jas dd is happier today, thanks I suggested we invite her friend to meet us at the park but she is quite about yesterdy and is worried about seeing her again at least she's not tearful so far today

Dame have a good day, don't worry about not being super-human I have an ultra tidy/perfect-in-every-way friend but she never expects the same from others, once I learnt that I relaxed loads about her ever coming to my house

simply where has your au pair gone on holiday?

Grouchyoscar · 21/02/2008 10:21

Thanks for the best wishes for my interviews this week, they have really helped keep my chin up. Hope all are well, that DCs are doing OK and that you have lovely days that you all deserve so much x

Simply · 21/02/2008 11:08

go Good luck for the interview.

BC She has gone to Spain to visit a friend. She e-mailed to say that she is enjoying herself there and the weather is great. Funnily enough, we've had a fantastic week here up until yesterday afternoon when it started to rain.

My done list:-
~ d/w loaded and put on
~ over-ripe bananas put in freezer ready for making a banana cake in a few days
~ several loads of washing done
~ stripped a bed
~ brought logs in ready for lighting the fire later
~ cleaned the cat litter trays
~ sorted out dd's wastepaper bin - recycling as much as I can
~ recycling done
~ bin brought back in

Nothing very exciting but once the basics are done, I can do other things. Ok. Time for a bagel and a banana and a game of chess and then I'm going to do some more. See you later!

Simply doing the cat litter is just grim isn't it? We have 3 cats and just line the coal cellar with sawdust then sweep it up and chuck it. grim grim grim

Dame I always pressured myself to be perfect too. I always felt inferior to a'perfect' person in the family, but when I went to her house and found it was a tip heap I relaxed. Then when their life started to unravel I thought 'well I'm not perfect but I could be so much worse and stopped beating myself up. remember, you are good enough

bianca sounds like you have a nice day planned with dc's.glad to hear that dd is feeling better. Are you worried about something which is keeping you away at night? Hope you have a better night tonight.
dreamenjoy todderls & te with dd's friend tonight.I am sure your house isn't a total tip.
go good luck with the interview
luda Thanks, I think ellie is on the mend no temp but still poking & pulling at her ear.very cranky...but I am getting lots of lovely kisses which is always nice.she must be under the weather normally she turns her cheek for a kiss in the european/lovey kinda way where she got that from I'll never know.getting smackers right on the lips today
dame don't worry simply said it much better than I ever could. I am sure your friend understands.its important that your rest & look after you.

assessor turned up unannounced at 1045 to complete energy assessment as part of our HIP for house sale. I was shower & dressed & thankfully house work was completed. Ellie was running about shower, not dressed in a nappy The assessor commented on how very tidy my house was[smug] Thank you fly lady. I said it wasn't normally as bree vandacamp but has to be as house on market.

off to make a cuppa & sweep up the choc brownie ellie has smashed on the living room floor.

EHM · 21/02/2008 11:36

right who's nicked my dust pan & brush when I wasn't looking
x posts RR you really must be feeling cabin feverish now. heres hoping dd is better soon
x post GO

damewashalot · 21/02/2008 12:06

Well I've done nothing but have had a nice chat with my friend and have booked my boys b'day cakes one of her many talents is wonderful decorated cakes which she does as my boys presents for us. Of course she didn't care the house was less than tidy and said i should be resting lots

I'm assuming simply that you were once ivor the engine? I've meant to email you over the last year but life gets hectic doesn't it? Yes I am 24wks pg with no 4! mad I know but we always said 2 or 4. Have had moments where I have wistful thoughts about living over there and walking along the beach, but have also discovered that there are more things here that I would miss than I thought. Although it took ds2 a long time to stop asking when we were going to move to wales and to be fair I think he would still jump at the chance.
DH having spent a year in a job he hated as just started a new one which is looking much better

Sorry everyone else for non flying related waffle can't see me getting much done today as have to do sainsburys after lunch, oh well, my hall is tidy and my bathroom is still clean

damewashalot · 21/02/2008 12:08

Also meant to say thank you all for being nice to me feeling tired and hormonal today.

Morning / afternoon everyone

Luda hope you had a nice time at toddler group.
TMH hope hospital went ok.
EHM thanks for the cream suggestion. DD is not itching at teh moment. With DS i used teh diprobase, which we get on prescription for their eczema and eurax cream which we had in the cupboard all ready, can't remember why it wasn't even open. Also have pirton in the cupboard so hopefully covered in case the itching starts.
Bianca hope the decoratin is going well. Would love to be able to re-decorate dc's room, but have no money at the moment. Glad dd is happier.
dame hope you get going and have a nice chat with your friend.
*Ruby hope dd1 feels better soon, for your sanity as well as her. Glad the house is finally coming together.
Hello simply, Dream Grouchy and everyone else.

Have just made a saucepan full of soup ; carott, parsnip, lentils and brown rice. DS is still off his food but he will always eat soup so am trying to make it into a meal.
Had to take DD to tesco this morning, we had no milk at all after breakfast, i know you're supposed to keep them in side but i don't know how. Need to go into town as well before saturday to pick up DS's 2-3 sleepsuit from M&S.
Any suggestions where to get a good BIG saucepan for soups, stews etc. i always fill mine right to the very top so the food can barely move.
Had better get moving DD is hungry, soup needs blending adn i've got to find loads of containers to put it all in.
Hope everyone has a good afternoon
BBL
