Good Morning Ladies

I didn't get back on the comp at all yesterday, as DH was working from home, doing his Tax Self Assesment thingy.

I've had a quick read through yesterday's thread, simply sorry...I didn't think anyone else would have a dog with that name!!! I just thought it a bit strange I guess. In welsh, Fan means Van..as in the vehicle...so I was still a bit puzzled.

Well I have to catch up on the house today.
I might walk the school run again this morning...I did it yesterday and it was really refreshing. (Kids moan all the way there though!)
I may have to pop into town, or DH might go..will have to see what he is doing. Also have to think of something to do in Gardening Club.

Righto...better go and get dressed!

Morning Guys.

I'm full of cold and it has got into my eyes so they're all puffy But, the girls seem ok today so I will be thankful. Off out this morning but goingto try and tidy a bit later. Also going out to cinema tonight

ludaloo · 29/01/2008 07:49

Hope you feel a bit better for your cinema trip FGS what are you going to see? Try a couple of peices of cucmber, will sooth your eyes (I'm the queen of puffy eyes...always helps for me)

I have to scrap the walking to school today...its raining
Will have to do some excercise indoors a bit later instead.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 29/01/2008 07:50

ludaloo · 29/01/2008 08:20

Speaking of which...was it gibberish who went to see Enchanted? How was that?

OP posts:
FunkyGlassSlipper · 29/01/2008 08:22

I saw Enchanted last month. I liked it.

ludaloo · 29/01/2008 08:38

The kids would like to see it. We might take them sometime soon I think.

TheMadHouse · 29/01/2008 08:53

Morning all

Well I feel a bit better this morning over the smacking incident and I know that a one off doesnt make me a bad mum, but it is hard when anger and frustration takes over your beliefs.

I think DS1 is coming down with something he is so clingly. We are off to toddlers and he is having lunch etc with a friend so that I can do my CBT and DS2 can sleep.

Plans for today:

Get clothes sorted for funeral and black coat from Loft
Make chilli and shepards pie
CBT
Put away the boys clothes I ironed last night
Change our bed
Stitch DS2's Growbag (zip coming away)
Straghten hair this evening

LMCream Flying has also changed me and my life - I was suffering from PND and panic attacks. Flying broke up the house work in to small and doable chunks, making it achieveable. The ladys listen and are not judgemental and are becoming real friends

ludaloo · 29/01/2008 09:09

I have just put DD2 in her first pair of knickers! She refused at first, but a bit of coaxing got her out her nappy. I have put the potty in the living room for her, I'm not expecting her to actually use it though...I am expecting lots of wet trousers and knickers today!
She starts Ysgol Feithrin next Tuesday, (Nursery) for three mornings a week, and they encourage children to be out of nappies. I have already explained that she won't be by the time she starts, and they said that was fine, but she needs to be starting to learn....so here goes!!!!!!!

Morning all

Feeling fed up and tearful today, not sure why. The whole dd thing at school is bothering me - she says she has to play on her own at playtime and although it doesn't seem to bother her I can see it does really. It bothers me to think that no-one wants her to join in their games, why would this be? She's a sociable little girl...is it something I've done wrong? Feeling a bit of a failure
Also have no inspiration as to how to move the relationship with dh on to being anything more than a houseshare

TMH glad you're feeling better this morning. I get angry/frustrated with the kids and have lost my temper We all have bad days sometimes x
simply (and Jas) I do intend to send your cheques, just keep forgetting! I'll try to do them today, sorry.
Luda I did lol at the dog named Fan too (sorry simply)
EHM Hope Ellie gave you a good nights sleep
FGS enjoy the film Downside of living out of town - it's almost a 35mile round trip to the cinema from here!
LMCream FLYing is about way more than housework I've found - lots of support all round
Jas the pic of you and your bro is a nice one
Hello to everyone else

I'm off to work for a bit, then will be doing the mission and a few other bits around the house.

BiancaCastafiore · 29/01/2008 09:19

Awww, Good luck Luda and DD2!

ludaloo · 29/01/2008 09:19

wee no1...in her knickers...she is demanding trousers too...so they are wet as well. She is a stubborn little so and so, and I have been putting off potty training because she keeps saying no when I ask her to do it in the potty....she still says no, I might leave her in her wet things a bit longer next time so she tries to not get wet maybe....
You'd never believe I have already potty trained twice before would you! I have no idea what to do LOL!

OP posts:
Yaddayah · 29/01/2008 09:23

Good luck with the potty training luda
gibberish and ehm your posts made me go awww
I haven't been to the Cinema in such a long time I have no idea about any current films (is Jaws still playing at the Roxy?)
fgs hope the cold is better

lmccream Flylady allows me to babble all sort of nonsense and they rarely yell at me plus the house is cleaner too

Right I need to get on:

MUST DO'S

Sort laundry
Clear kitchen
Thank you notes for ds's birthday (26 presents already and his birthdays tomorrow!!)
15 mins clearing living room
5 min hotspot (main bedroom)

DD is just singing a wiggle giggle song and making me laugh

x-posts Bianca

Awww don't feel down on yourself! Children can be very cruel at times...I know for a fact your DD is pefectly normal, sociable, bright, pretty, and my DD1 loves her to bits!
Its nothing down to you as a mother at all. It may just be a phase the other children are going through, or maybe she unintentionally did something to upset one of the other children (my DD1 does it without knowing sometimes)

OP posts:
TheMadHouse · 29/01/2008 09:36

Bianca This is a special post just for you -

As you said we all have bad days. I have made a resolution to try and take a grip on why DS1 is playiong up and have decided that it is prob due to the fact that he gets more attention when he is - simple as that really - so I am swapping my Riasing boys book for toddler taming with a friend at toddlers (yes I have one rl friend) and going to give that a try.

I will try and catch you on MSN later, as there is a couple of books I am reading that I can recomend - just need to dig them out

ludaloo · 29/01/2008 09:44

[sigh] wee no.2....in knickers...so I left it a bit and explained she has to try and do a wee in the potty....she shook her head off...hid away and took her wet stuff off, and is now wailing to have trousers back on!

Its going to be a long day...

OP posts:
tibni · 29/01/2008 09:53

Shannaratinger · 29/01/2008 10:41

Morning everyone

Lmccream was v. impressed at no longer needin shelves
Nchoc & Jen hope DC's are feeling better
FGS hope your eyes feel better soon
Dream hope your arms aren't sore this morning after all that painting
TMH I smacked DD yesterday after she screamed at me for 40 minutes ending in her biting me. I hate smacking her but I'd had enough. Toddler taming is a really good book.

Hello to everyone else, ahve to go and get DS, adn take DD to playschool. Have my course today, I think we're discussing communication and behaviour so won't be back until 4pm.

BBL

EHM · 29/01/2008 11:35

bianca{{{hugs}}} I agree with what luda says about your dd being cute etc & you being a great mum. I wish there was something I could do to take this sadness away regarding dd & situation with dh. You know where I am if you need an ear, email, text, or call. Even if you need a good cry
luda good luck with the knickers tolong day. Iam not looking forward to this stage.

Very tired today morning routine done, a floors swept & cleaned downstairs. 1 load of washing in & 2 cushion covers washed & on dryer.Did yesterday/todays missions yesterday as monday is livingroom day for me.

Will be heading out after lunch as I need to do the following;
bank chq/coins
sort query with ellies bank accounts (she should only have 1?)
buy new family planner
buy birthday present/card for ellie's little cousin
buy handwash/water filters
Toddler Arts & Crafts at 2pm
cancel osteopath appointment for thurs(nobody to look after ellie)

Have a great afternoon all.x

ludaloo · 29/01/2008 11:37

5 pairs of knickers..and trousers, 3 wet patches on the carpet, and an increasingly anxed mum and DD2...we are back in pull ups.
I don't want it to be stressful, and I don't want it to be an awful experience for her so we will try again another time.

I have got lunch on (tuna pasta)
Have pretty much tidied everywhere
Have done 3 loads of washing so far
Also sorted out stuff for gardening club...Butterflies today (butterfly masks, paper chain butterflies, and a butterfly picture to colour in)

Still have to clean the guinea's out
Still have to vac

OP posts:
TheMadHouse · 29/01/2008 11:44

Lunch on for me and DS2 - Sweet and sour chicken and then yoghurts.

Luda I left it with DS1 he was 2.9 when he came out of pull ups during the day - he told me it was easier to use the nappy and we missed out the potty bit and he now goes straight to the Loo.

EHM I would mind Ellie if I could - can you re-arrange?

Waves to everyone else

Janni · 29/01/2008 12:04

Hello ALL - sorry don't have time to catch up with whole thread as DD urgently needing attention. Sausage casserole cooking in oven (thanks TMH) to tempt DH home for lunch as he doesn't work far away and I want to go back to bed for a bit as DD got me up FAR TOO EARLY!

To do: tidy toys in living room, mission, clear-up in kitchen, hang laundry.

Lmccream - the main difference for me is that I have a routine for tackling household things now, so that certain things get done on certain days. It used to be that I NEVER felt anything
was finished. Now if I see something that needs doing I say to myself that's a job for ...(whatever day it's scheduled). I actually relax more now and just feel more on top of the children's needs. Hope that helps.

EHM · 29/01/2008 12:11

aww luda i am sure it will get better.
tmh thank you I am sure your dc's would love a new play mate(I know Ellie would)..dh has tried to rearrange his meetings etc but no joy. the lady only visits our local clinic on a thurs. I've asked if I can have an appointment next Thursday. Unfortunately this is what happens when you dont have a support network close by. My family live in middlesbrough, my sister is in manchester & dh's family live in scotland. My only other option was the lady who runs Mini Moovers who is a nanny & offers baby sitting services day time & evening. She has classes on a thursday.

BiancaCastafiore · 29/01/2008 12:20

Oh Luda sorry but you are making me lol I remember those days very well, and am pleased to be past it all (sometimes that broodiness can be put on a shelf lol) Hope you and dd2 come up with a compromise soon
EHM shame about your appt. Hope you get one soon, I remember how great you felt after the last session.

I've emptied the contents of our storage chest from the living room..they are now all over the floor and needs re-homing. The place was quite tidy till I started! Lots of papers have been recycled and I'm now in danger of just bunging everything back in the chest.....
