Help! What could this be on my bedding?

Hi,
I keep finding this on my bedsheets. I boil washed them last night and found it again today. I’m terrified it’s from bedbugs but I haven’t got any bites and have checked thoroughly and can’t find any other signs. I also think it might be a bit too big to be from them? I don’t know what it is though and I feel so anxious. Does anyone know what it could be? Thank you

How do you dry your bedding?

I use a tumble dryer, however I first found these marks on the bedsheets last week when I’d bought them brand new. I’ve since boil washed and dried and found them again today

Are you saying it is something that appears when your sheets are on the bed? Not during a wash or storage, but when actually in use?

What is the scale of the mark? Can you put a coin or something next to it and take another photo to give an idea of size.

That's not blood.

Whatever it is, putting it on a hot wash has probably set the strain now - stains should always be treated with cold water first.

Is it dirt from washing machine door seal ?

Yeah, it appears once my sheets are on the bed. When I boil washed it removed them, but now I’ve got another patch again. I’ve attached a pic for size

How often has it appeared?

Do you sleep alone? Pets? Open windows?

this is the 4th time I’ve seen it now. I don’t have any pets and I keep my bedroom window closed. I sleep alone

Is it like a stain in the cotton? From the photo it looks more like some dirt that's dropped off something.

It’s from Argos :) it looks like tar and is like stuck on, it’s not seeped into the bedsheet like an ink stain if that makes sense?

If its wet, does it smear?

Does it always appear in the same position/place?
Do you put anything down on your bed - toiletry bag, handbag etc?
Is there anything above that might be dripping - a fixture or light fitting?

It’s not wet, it’s hardened and isn’t really smearing. It’s been in a few different places. I haven’t really put anything on my bed

Could it be eyeliner or mascara? Do you sit on the bed to do your makeup, or put your makeup bag on the bed?

Could it be something that has fallen into your hair -- tree sap or dirt or ?

No I’ve not had any make up near the bed either. I’ve just scrubbed it off and it’s left a pale orange colour on the sheet. I don’t know what it could be but I’m so anxious and can’t sleep, convincing myself it’s bed bugs 😣

Bed bugs are tiny! Won't be that. How intriguing though.

Coffee?

Nope not had coffee near it either. They seem to appear in the day time when I’m not in my bed, it’s so weird

Have you looked up? Anything on your ceiling?

Spider poo? I'm not joking, I kept finding something similar under a corner frequented by a cellar spider.

There’s nothing on my ceiling. Oh god I hope it’s not spider poo 😂😬

Another random thought based on my mum's experience. Check your curtains to see if you have a bat trapped in your bedroom? Mum had one in the top folds of her curtains.
