Help! What could this be on my bedding?

Hi,
I keep finding this on my bedsheets. I boil washed them last night and found it again today. I’m terrified it’s from bedbugs but I haven’t got any bites and have checked thoroughly and can’t find any other signs. I also think it might be a bit too big to be from them? I don’t know what it is though and I feel so anxious. Does anyone know what it could be? Thank you

Rat poo is more torpedo shaped.

I think spider poo.

Could you have a scab somewhere that falls off in the night?

Is it always on the cover, or does it appear on the sheet?

Bed bugs are tiny! Won't be that. How intriguing though.

Bed bugs are not tiny. They are about the same size as a wood louse.

Ilovetocrochet · 01/11/2022 01:57

Rat poo is definitely oval in shape, I recently had a rat living in my garage!

It does look like some kind of creature is leaving a mark though, possible beetles like you suggest, but I’d expect to see similar marks in other places on the bed or even carpets. It seems odd to only get one spot.

I doubt it's bed bugs. The first sign will be bites and the op hasn't mentioned that. Too big to be their poo.

YukoandHiro · 01/11/2022 02:04

It does look like animal poo. Squirrel? Can you set some traps to see what happens?

lifeinthehills · 01/11/2022 02:08

That's too soft for rodent poo. I am guessing some sort of creature, but not bed bugs or anything really tiny. I've had some decent spiders around and never seen their poo, ever.

Pickledhen · 01/11/2022 02:10

Intrigued.

MorrisseyGladioli · 01/11/2022 02:10

I'm desperate to know what it is, now!

Maybe it depends how old they are? I've known people itching with headlice but there's nothing much to see they're that small and others saying headlice are as big as a fingernail. Maybe it's the same with lots of pests.

Perhaps there's an elephant in the room?

Never heard or seen headlice that big.

I think it's people confusing their bed parasites and mixing up bed mites and bed bugs. Mites you can't really see, but bed bugs can be 7mm, which is definitely visible.

My daughter's children transported bed bugs from a perfectly nice hotel to her house, so I've seen lots of the critters. Even the baby ones are fairly easy to spot once you know what you are looking for.

Obviously this isn't what op has or she would have mentioned being bitten.

Another vote for poo of some sort. But what ?

Haylsx3 · 01/11/2022 12:00

When i scrub it off though it looks like blood is left over? I found really small ones of it last night. It’s so so weird

I think it may be carpet beetles, I have seen 2 what I think are adult ones now, as well as the larvae
