Help! What could this be on my bedding?

Hi,
I keep finding this on my bedsheets. I boil washed them last night and found it again today. I’m terrified it’s from bedbugs but I haven’t got any bites and have checked thoroughly and can’t find any other signs. I also think it might be a bit too big to be from them? I don’t know what it is though and I feel so anxious. Does anyone know what it could be? Thank you

Bed bug poo looks more like lots of little browny black dots left by a fine felt tip pen. Also it’s usually more hidden - so round the mattress seams/behind the bedstead/on the mattress under the mattress protector etc.

Ok that’s reassuring. I haven’t seen anything like that and there’s nothing on my mattress or around the seams or anything

Ha ha! I know, it's so farfetched. I was sleeping on the sofa and woke in the night to the sound of the bat flying around. The next day we found droppings. It took us a little while to find it where it had nestled in to sleep in the upper folds of the curtain. Her ceiling is so high. It was a difficult task on so many levels!

Another random thought based on my mum's experience. Check your curtains to see if you have a bat trapped in your bedroom? Mum had one in the top folds of her curtains.

I truly didn’t expect to see this on this thread.

That’s floored me.

Could your bedfellow be soiling themselves? Are you? Do you both wear pants in bed? And if it is that, they need to see a doctor to check out the cause of the blackness. Probably not that but that’s my two penneth.

It looks like ink to me. I'd have a good look inside your washer and dryer for a rogue pen.

Not got any plants. I don’t think it’s anything from the washing machine because they are appearing in the day time when I’ve not been near the bed. To me it appears like some sort of blood because it’s like and tarry and when I scrub it off it’s a faint orange colour. I’m not sure though

Spider poo I reckon. Like a PP I kept on finding similar on a side table and then realised there was a spider living in a little crack in the plaster just above it, who was coming out and shitting onto my table.

Is there a chimney in your room? Could it be a smut from years of coal smoke, perhaps being dislodges by the wild autumn weather? Long shot though, personally slightly more persuaded by the spider theory....

It’s definitely not from the washing machine as it’s not there when I’ve just washed my bedding. If it is from spiders is there anything I can do about it? 😣

Put a bit on a damp paper towel. If it's anything blood related, it'll make a red/brown halo. Ink won't bleed like that.

I’ve found what I think is carpet beetle larvae on the wall, so I’m just wondering if it could be a squashed carpet beetle or something maybe?

It's about the right size. Maybe the bed has been chosen for a toilet area.

Do a spring clean and see if you find any anywhere else OP. Maybe put some bait down, as you don't have pets it can't do any harm.
