Have only just been able to dial up, connection was lost for some reason.

Well I have lots of housework to do today, and the fire has gone out.
DH is in bed with "Man Flu"

Kids are already squabbling about pretty much everything this morning!

Oh the delights of a Saturday morning!

Hello Luda Sympathies re. man flu. My DH went to bed at 9 last night and slept till 8 this morning. Consequently he's rested enough to take all three kids out . DSs have swimming lessons.

I woke up at 5 so will have to have a nap later. My new housework routines are going well and I'm feeling that things are under control without me having to chase my tail the whole time.

Need to: get dressed, tidy up, finish washing floors, wipe greasy finger marks off furniture

TheMadHouse · 26/01/2008 10:19

Morning Luda and Jani

I have had a lovley lie in this morning. DH has done a load of washing, DW, Breakfast and pretty much all of the morning routine. DH got up with the mini mads. DS2 is going through a difficult stage spitting his breakfast and water, milk etc.

We are off to Newcastle today with them to visit my aunt.

Tomorrow we are taking them swimming and going to DH's family. The trouble has started already regarding the farm etc We are hoping the boys can lighten the mood a little.

Good news regarding baby L

I am hoping that this is the start of a better time for us.

Mum is having the boys whilst we go to the funeral on wedensday and she is also going to have DS2 the following week so I can spend an sfternoon at Pre School with DS1. This is not like my mum

Anyway TD now on by DH, just going to get stuff together and we are off out.

Janni · 26/01/2008 11:07

Hi TMH. Glad you've had a nice start to the day. Enjoy your visit to Newcastle.

Next jobs: clear stuff off balcony and do recyling.

Am trying not to be a perfectionist as it stops me tackling certain jobs. GOOD ENOUGH IS GOOD ENOUGH

donbean · 26/01/2008 11:17

Hi, ive not been on the fly thread for ages. (got a bit of a tongue lashing last time )
But i have already cleaned the bathroom and tackled a big deep drawer in my wardrobe. Ive got stuff to take to the charity shop now.
Ive done a load of washing and have tidied downstairs up.
I went through finances yesterday and shreded a load of paper work that had been cluttering up another hot spot in my kitchen.
I did my sons wardrobe this last week and treated it like it was a hot spot, dear God i dont know how i can accumulate such stuff,
Keep going and looking at it all tidy and clear, tis a great sense of achievement i must admit.
Ive got one week left of my annual leave next week so i intend to go through all of my kitchen cupbourds and blitz them, do my oven and finish decluttering my wardrobe.
I will be spotless for when i go back to work after that.
What a relief, i just have to keep on top of it then, so much easier.
Think i shall have to advertise myself to fly through some one elses house after that!!!

ludaloo · 26/01/2008 11:26

Hi donbean welcome... getting a tongue lashing doesn't sound very nice! It must have been before my time, as I don't recall your name. I hope we can be a bit more inviting!

Well DH is still in bed....with his cold...and is asking for a cooked breakfast!
Woos!

Have done nothing at all except cuddle up with the kids on the sofa! I'm going to make dh his breakfast, and then get on with some chores.

Hi donbean. Fly (currently at least) seems to be very kind and supportive, so welcome back! Well done on all you've accomplished today!

Grouchyoscar · 26/01/2008 11:50

Hello FLYpeople

I'm not as despondant as I was last night. I just felt run down and fed up. It got worse as DH let me know he's out in Manchester on Monday night. Yeah, nice mate, loads of notice there huh

Still seem to have masses to do despite my hard work so I better get a move on

Done

Up and hide from Ed (who thinks my bed is an extension to his bedroom)
Downstairs
Tidy up from last night (DH has no bedtime routine other than turn round, shut door, go upstairs)
Load and run DW
Make breakfast
S&S worktops
Have breakfast
Source display cabinet for Ed's Pixar Cars Die-casts (DH has managed to buy every one, even the Wal-mart only specials and there are too many to fit in a 12G Clarks shoe box)

To Do

Vac front room
Vac Staircase and landing
Sweep kitchen
Mop downstairs
Clean and mop bathroom
Hang up the wet washing
Dry the damp washing
Read with Ed (it's Frog on a Log or Big Pig on a Dig tonight I think)

DH is complaining of tummy trouble again (!!!) Glory be.

TMH Film update...Love Dr Kermode's judgement as I do can I say Sweeny Todd left me non-plused last night. Won't say it's a bad film, I like Tim Burton, and Jonny Depp is good, just...it didn't have it for me sadly.

Right, Fighting Talk and then I better get cracking.

Lmccrean · 26/01/2008 11:53

I fell off the flylady wagon a few months ago, but split with my partner has encouraged me to get back on Have been naughty, completely disregarding the hour rule, and gutted my room last Monday, moving everything except furniture into dds room while she was at school. While most is binned/boxed for charity/put back nicely, BUT I have a huge box of paperwork and files filled of years of random recipies, decorating ideas, projects id like to make etc that I need to sort, thats been sitting in my living room since monday, beside my huge pile of laundry which is sitting on the chairs that need painted.. Argh

Im just up, dressed and about to write up new (more realistic than before) morning routine and then dd and I are tackling her bedroom, so she can chill out while I whip round everywhere else. Then we are embarking on a craft afternoon to use up all the bits of craft stuff I am hoarding - cant bear to throw it out! Chairs will be painted tonight when dd in bed (gloss paint, so def not doing it when shes running around) and then I will veg out in front of tv while sorting paperwork

Do you all have a day for laundry, a day for errands, a day for doing deepclean of bathroom etc or is it done in bits and pieces throughout the week?

Lmccrean · 26/01/2008 11:55

oh, like how you do your list GO..much easier to read than my huge paragraphs...will try that next time!

Hello to all. I am trying to motivate myself and reading these posts has helped. I'm going to resist the urge to write a long post and instead I'll go and sort out some papers. I need to menu plan, too and will try to do that this w/e. I'll be good now and disappear to sort out papers. See you later!

Lmccrean · 26/01/2008 14:09

So cleaned out under dds bed, found stuff I thought I had lost, inc one entire school uniform (I was secretly blaming one of the childminders )

Adding 2 loads of laundry to my list for today .

Grouchyoscar · 26/01/2008 16:39

LMcrean I've got a great method of sorting out paperwork that involves carrier bags. I'll pass it on if you want. Oh BTW Hello [smile)

TheMadHouse · 26/01/2008 17:04

transfer CD to PC (eels) and add some more to my ipod if I can remember how

Welcome donbean and LMC The ladies on here are fab, never had any telling off, nothing bar lots of support and a place to pop down any worries and no one is judgey at all.

Groucy We listen to fighting talk too

Lmccrean · 26/01/2008 17:05

HI

Its not putting them in carrier bags then putting them in recycling bin is it?

Ive done
Morning and Evening routine
DDs room - cleaned under bed and bookshelf
Changed bedclothes in both rooms.
2 loads laundry (loving the soapnuts!)
Helped dd make lunch
Tidy up the almighty mess created by dd making lunch.
Wash kitchen floor
Hung out wet washing
Deep clean bathroom
Brought stuff designated to give away to friends houses.
Allowed myself 45 mins to research bank accounts on MSE

To do
Sort paperwork into folders - 1 for recipies to copy, 1 for design ideas, 1 for things to make etc. All will sit neatly in magazine rack (I dont have any magazines anyway!) and I will write out a recipie or whatever when I sit down to watch tv or have nothing to do.

Go to shop for flour
Make dinner
Make fairy cakes for party tomorrow
Clean oven
Iron
Paint chairs
Get to bed at decent hour..

Grouchyoscar · 26/01/2008 17:21

No, it just lets you organise the daunting unsorted pile into a form of order in your own time

DontDreamItBeIt · 26/01/2008 17:23

I've sat and read the last few days threads and decided to follow Simply's lead and go do stuff rather than sit here and write a huge post.

Hello everyone, welcome back donbean and a big Hi5 to HN (You knew me as Jas)

Oh, and TMH I hope things continue to improve for your whole family

Grouchyoscar · 26/01/2008 17:26

THM my must listens are

Mark Kermode's Film reviews
Fighting talk
Just a minute
The News quiz on Radio 4
Sorry I haven't a clue

I've hit middle age. I now happily listen to the radio and usually Radio 4 and 5

Lmccrean · 26/01/2008 17:29

Hi MD was x-post there. Its lovely to hear that everyone is supportive on here Ill need it! hehe (Promise to give as good as I get tho!)

Janni · 26/01/2008 18:32

Evening all.
Not a bad day, just get frustrated that DH will NEVER clear up after anything he does and sulks if it's pointed out to him, so I don't bother any more. He has lots of very good qualities so excuse me using FLY to get my moans off my chest. For example, he bought DSs birthday presents but left everything all over the living room floor. He fixed himself some dinner and left everything out in the kitchen. He gave DD a bath and left the bathroom untouched after. It means that I go round quietly picking up after him and it IRRITATES me, whereas HE thinks it's great that he does the initial jobs! (which I suppose it is)

Jobs for this evening: put CDs back in boxes - DD has created mayhem, tidy one shelf of study.
Then RELAX!

TheMadHouse · 26/01/2008 18:32

Not a fly post really, but I just have to tell you all. All my boys are in the conservatory watching chity chity bang bang and my heart is bursting (I have tears in my eyes).

Janni · 26/01/2008 18:34

TMH that's so sweet. I love that film. I always used to sing the 'Truly Scrumptious' song to my boys when they were little.

Bewilderbeast · 26/01/2008 20:17

Evening all

welcome Lmc and Donbean*Janni I have exactly the same problem with DP. He doesn't realise that it would make a massive difference to my everyday life and my mood if he would just put things away after he has used them. Grrrr.
THM I'm glad L is improving. DS was in the NICU for a while, it's very hard on everyone. It's wonderful that you and your family can be such a comfort and support to your niece.

done
wm unloaded
suits tried on to find one that fits (how depressing)
suit put in wash so it's all nice and clean for Wednesday
wm unloaded and reloaded
quick tidy upstairs and down
table set for dinner but neither of us is hungry enough to eat, I think DP has fallen asleep whilst putting ds to bed
'revised' a bit for Wednesday's selection centre thingy
internet banking done

Simply · 26/01/2008 20:28

Hello again to all. Well, my day of peace (almost - I still had dd here and had to chauffeur her around a bit - what an active social life almost teens have!) is about to end when the others get back from their day away. I haven't done much with the papers but I have done lots of other things despite still sleeping badly and feeling tired. Grrrr. I must go and make the beds ready for bedtime. See you tomorrow perhaps. Nos da pawb. Good night all.
