wooohooooo great news Tort Micky looks sweet!

TheMadHouse · 27/01/2008 14:40

Congrats on the new member of your household Tort TheMadHouse family welcome Micky (Although DS1 is scared of dogs)

We had a great time swimming this morning and then visited FIL and MIL. Funeral takes place on Wedensday and all the arrangements have been made.

I have the chicken in for dinner and I have prepared a saus casarole for the slow cooker for tomorrow.

I need to do extra veg for dinner and then do the ironing.

Might take the mini mads out for a walk on the beach to let DH get on with his work.

He goes in early, as he hates missing bath and bedtime, so for the last two weeks has been at his desk by 7 at the lastest!!

EHM can I have the recipe for the soup please.
Dream What rooms are left to do now?

Waves to everyone else

ludaloo · 27/01/2008 15:42

Congratulations Gibberish* !!! Well done too

Tort he looks lovely! And Micky is a sweet name. I bet you can't wait!!

I haven't weighed myself again yet...have to wait until Wednesday.
I have done my food shopping, and also bagged another bargain...bought a pink hooded zip up trackie top, reduced from £42...to £8!!!
I also bought a skipping rope LOL! DH and I have been laughing our heads off watching each other skip. I can't believe I'd keep it up for hours as a kid...I can bearly do about 15 skips and I'm ready for a lie down!
Its very good fun, but really hard work!! You don't realise how hard it is when you are small! (It bounces all your bouncy bits around a bit more than I'd like too )
I think I will keep at it though, it really gets your heart rate up, and you get a good sweat on! The skipping rope was only £1.15! Another Bargain!

Anyway, I have been making myself portions of Lasagna...using Quorn. Never tried it before...but it is super low in calories. It smells really yummy if nothing else!

Kids have got the bouncy castle up in the garden, and DH is supervising, so I shall get on with preparing supper.

Thanks Bianca and TMH. We can't wait! Kind of that it has all happened so quickly! But thrilled!

Cleaned out rabbit and guinea and put more washing on.
Going to make fairy cakes again now. They don't last 5mins here lol!

tortoise · 27/01/2008 15:47

x posts Luda. Yes he looks very sweet and we can't wait.
Need to get food etc ready. They provide a coller, lead and muzzle. (Recommend to use it while out for the 1st week or so just in case, although they are normally fine with other dogs!)

Lady has offered to get me a bowl from Argos (double set on a stand for greyhounds long legs/neck)to save me going in on the train just for that.

Need to get DD1 qa new single duvet so that the dog can have her crappy old one to sleep on. She was due a better one anyway.

tortoise · 27/01/2008 15:49

I agree skipping is good but hard! Watch out if your pelvic floor muscles aren't 100% .lol!

Lasangne sounds good. I have never made it. Something new to try!

Grouchyoscar · 27/01/2008 16:23

Hello ALL EHM Boris caught up with me today and sent me to sleep this afternoon. Well it was Boris, last night's scrummy dinner (my lamb shanks were stunning) or a combination of the two . Hope Ellie is OK, I noticed your sleep has been disturbed.

I have taken it V-e-r-y s-t-e-a-d-y today. No cleaning the house from top to bottom today. My DONE list is

Up
Empty DW
Put away
Complete 2 job apps
Make lunch
Load and run DW
Shine sink
Read with Ed
Look for cheap books online (bought 1 and bidding for another on eBay, both for Ed)

TO DO

Get a long hot bath
Make lunchboxes
Bedtime routine

I'm listening to the rather wonderful Will Self talking about J G Ballard on Radio 4. a steady day is worthwhile

ludaloo · 27/01/2008 16:59

lol Tort...Yes I have discovered the effects of a slack pelvic floor muscle LOLOLOLOLOL!! After 3 kids it is shot! I have to go to loo several times before doing any kind of jumping about !!!
(Sorry If TMI!!!)

tortoise · 27/01/2008 17:32

lol luda At least i'm not the only one! I didn't expect it while skipping though!

Cakes are cooked and being iced by DC with different colour icing.

Home made chips for tea with shop bought pizza! DD1 not impressed! She says she hates pizza but i am fed up of cooking different meals for everyone so she can eat it or go hungry.

GO well done for taking it easy today!

DontDreamItBeIt · 27/01/2008 18:14

Very exciting tortoise - he looks lovely.

ludaloo - don't try trampolining either!

Very steady is good GO you need to rest more!

Gibberish - for weightloss.

TMH - You may regrest asking! I have to paint the stairwell, landing, hallway and both downstairs rooms, dp has to fit new bathroom and rip out old one, then I can decorate old bathroom and turn it into a bedroom.
DD1s room is ready,we just need the new bed, then she can move in.

gibberish · 27/01/2008 18:42

rofl luda I once, only once, tried to go on a trampoline. Big Mistake. Was so embarassed, was like Niagara Falls after a flood

gibberish Well done you!
dream8am lovely
torthow cute
fgs sorry to hear about school.hope you feel better soon.

EHM · 27/01/2008 21:17

TMH Its very easy receipe I made up myself one day when I had veg & chicken breasts use up. Sorry dont have exact quanties as I go by the size of my pan. It freezes really well to. If you dont want chicken in it, use good stock without the chicken. Also you can blend rather than have chunky.

Spicy Chunky Veg & Chicken Soup:
Heat chilli/garlic olive oil in pan
add onion & cook
then add chicken stock
3 Chicken breasts in chunks (or more if required)
1 Veg stock cube
parsnips in chunks
carrotts in chunks
turnip in chunks
pototoes in chunks(I add 2 med sized)
season with salt & pepper
1/2-1 teaspoon of hot curry power

Bring to boil & simmer until veg is tender & chicken cooked. Hope it works out for you.
