Net Curtains - Please tell me they're not old fashioned!

Morning ladies!

We have recently moved into a house (well, July actually) and they have left behind their vertical blinds, which we have been using until we decorate room by room. However I do feel that they dont offer much privacy when open and would really like to stick some nets up - nothing with big flowers on or anything, but more of a modern subtle thing.

Are nets still ok to have or are they only for people over 60?

TIA!

I looked at bottom up blinds but they are very expensive for what is, essentially, a farking roller blind !

bluefox · 02/11/2007 13:58

Didnt realise they were v. expensive. Just thought they would be good for stopping people looking in while still getting plenty of light in at the top of the windows, esp in the bedrooms - our house is very overlooked.

Excuse me!!! I'm over 60 and wouldn't touch nets with a bargepole. They are a no no. There are blinds which you can see out of, let in the light but people can't see in. Check them out!! I've got them in the bays of my Victorian house and they look modern and fab.

What made you want to reanimate the corpse of an eight year old thread just to say that?

Net curtains are not old-fashioned I am a 23 years man and live in a flat that has about four rooms and a very very big rooms for a flat and I got net curtains in the front room just 2 going onto the main road and they are plain net curtains and they go my grand room and it's stop people looking in well they can see but thy can't see very clearly what's going on but only can see clearly if come very close to the window. But with net curtains you can get Net curtains in so many different designs like all flowers or just plain or stripes with a border on the bottom of a plain net curtain or a flower border at the bottom of a plain net curtain you can get them in white or cream I got the natural colour white. To go with my grand room plus I've got two in the bedroom as well go going on the window going of main road so net curtains I bought was cheap can`t remember for 4 but remember your paying for the length of them so good luck

Since the thread is TEN YEARS OLD the chances are the OP has decided one way or another Hmm

How the hell do people find these threads to resurrect

I have jardiniere nets at front. They are ok and do the job.

Blinds are so last year, Nets have increased in popularity immensely since 2020 , as subtle designs leave creative patterns on inside walls in summer, vertical/horizontal blinds leave patterns akin to a notepad, extremely boring and dull, and they are now seen as outdated, unless you really desire the office at home look.
