Jas · 29/10/2007 07:33

Morning. I appear to have started another new thread for today when I came back here No idea what I did.

My FLYing wll be erratic this week. DP is staying home all week to start more work upstairs, which will involve lots of noise and mess, and we are also startignthe rewiring of the whole house tomorrow I have to empty each room as he goes round to givehim access, so this room wil be fors. (I may not be around as I will have to disconnect the bb to move the computer)

I am going to be out all day today, as it will be the worst day for mess, so I will have a busy evening when I get back..
Have a good one everyoe[smle]

Morning Jas, Yadda and EHM

I've been awake with ds since 5.45! Once he was awake there was no chance of him going back to sleep
Dh has been awake in the night, poor chap was feeling poorly, I hope he's not coming down with a bug.

This morning dd has a friend coming to play and ds has a haircut.
Then ds has been invited to play with a friend while dd and I were thinking of going into the shops (she needs new shoes)...train times are not on our side though and in order to be home in time to collect ds we'd have a grand total of 10minutes to get round the shops! Not sure what we'll do as I've typically left this shoe-buying trip till the last minute and she's desperate....

I don't need to do the mission as my living room is still lovely and tidy
I do need to do some laundry and get clothes etc ready for school tomorrow.
I also need to sort out some car insurance - do not let me forget to ring for a quote!

BiancaCastafiore · 29/10/2007 07:38

Oh, Good Luck with all the work going on this week Jas

ludaghoul · 29/10/2007 07:38

Morning Ladies

madhouse oh that's good news (well not entirely but the fact she can feel and move is a great sign) Can I just say, that if I was in hospital for any reason a lasagna and some coke would be my absolute ideal pressie!! I could live off coke and lasagna!
Speedy recovery vibes heading her way

Bianca your pumpkin looks brilliant! (I think I'll stick to triangle eyes and a toothy grin!)

EHM and bianca glad you both had a good day

LOL @ Yadda Its confusing isn't it!

Well kids are at home all week, so I will try to get as much done as I can. It is actually raining outside so I think we might have a day at home anyway.

catch you later

ludaghoul · 29/10/2007 07:40

Oh...jas sounds like a mare! Good luck

FunkyGlassSlipupandyouredead · 29/10/2007 07:41

Morning Guys. I'm keeping DD2 off pre-school today as she isnt well so wont get as much done as I hoped.

However, living room is a good mission for me as we'll be in here most of the day.

yaddayah · 29/10/2007 07:52

Crikey you lot are busy today !

Any ideas on washing a whole holidays worth of clothes without a washing machine ?

(No launderettes in immediate vicinity .. )

Jas · 29/10/2007 08:31

Kind neighbours?

Madhouse - agree - your friend beig able to feel is very good. She may be in for a long recovery but it sounds like she hasbeen very lucky. I hope things stay positive. (Soup and chocolate would be my top hospital food. I spent a while confined to my back and lasagne is not easy to eat lying down!)

The dds have an inset day today, so I'm hoping to make it to theh post office tomorrow with your parcel.
DPs car tax runs out this week. I must remember to do it online tonight

TheMadScaryHouse · 29/10/2007 09:08

Morning All

Thanks for the positive vibes. Jas She asked for lasagne. Yesterday I took melon, grapes, oranges and bananas - she is a fruit not chocs person, although she is a secret coke adict.

Well today I am doing normal morning, plus, making lasagne and then mum is coming to look after the boys - she is having her bloods for the cancer today so fingers crossed on that front too!!

EHM You have a budding artist too - the sofa incident was our first ever claim
Jas I do not envy you re the house, but I am sure it will be great when it is all done

CocoDeBearisCocoDeBear · 29/10/2007 09:57

Hi everyone. I'm back from a trip to my parents. Now the place is chaos, the kids are driving me totally mad, they're both ill yet again, the cat is utterly utterly crazy and keeps running up and down the curtains...

Baby DD is still in her pyjamas. I haven't cleaned my teeth.

Need to get back on that FLY wagon.

Where to start????

Haven't read the threads I've missed, BUT MadHouse, oh my God, I'm so sorry about your friend. You don't expect things like that to happen, do you? Such a shock for everyone! I hope they make a full recovery, and sending lots of positive thoughts.

CocoDeBearisCocoDeBear · 29/10/2007 09:58

Yaddah invite yourself round to a friend's house with your laundry bags? Sorry, no better suggestions!

EvilHM · 29/10/2007 10:00

Madscary Wishing your mum lots of luck for today & hoping news in respect of your friend remains positive. Did Insurers replace your couch or clean? They are sending out somebody today to try & remove the art work from the very light coloured leather couch.(I am hoping they can't remove & with replace)
bianca hope dh is feeling better & you get a rest today given your very early start. Maybe your ds & my dd have been communicating with each other
jas good luck with the work & have dp home all week
ludahave a good day at home with the lo's
FGS hope dd2 is feeling better soon.
yadd I would ask a very nice neighbour. Do you live near me?

We defleaded the cats yesterday as usual. This morning after my first post found a few odd looking tiny black things around the house. So I've now decided to boil wash everything that can be put in the machine.Wipe all surfaces with hot water & antibacterial cleaner & hoover remainder. I've also asked dh to hire carpet cleaner from morrisons on way home tonight. Ellie also has a 2 little bites on her leg I am so ashamedI discovered these whilst washing & dressing her this morning

Right update so far:
usual morning routine in part
plus hoover couches & underneathdone
mop floors in hall, downstairs loo & living roomdone
clean skirting boards, fixtures & fittings in livingroondone
await phone call from funiture medic to confirm time of arrival
empty ironing basket
washing 1st load inamendments
strip & boil wash contents of dd's,spare & our room
hoover dd's, spare & our room
wipe all surfaces, furniture with hot water & antibac cleaner throughout the house
hoover & clean carpets on stairs & bedrooms once dh gets home

At this rate I'll still be cleaning at midnight do you think I am being slightly OTT?

EvilHM · 29/10/2007 10:02

coco Sorry I can't offer advice, glad to have you back. Hope lo's are better soon.
bianca quote for car

FunkyGlassSlipupandyouredead · 29/10/2007 10:19

EHM - we had fleas last year when I was pregnant with DD2 - you may remember?

Go to the vets and get acclaim flea spray. It is the best there is. Spray the whole house. Treat the cat. Hoover every other day for about 2 weeks and hopefully they will go.

EvilHM · 29/10/2007 10:24

FGS Thank you sooo much I am phoning the vets asap. Is it quite common then? Sorry I don't remember your having them, but I do have a brain like a svive

TheMadScaryHouse · 29/10/2007 10:33

EHM They could not clean so have replaced, however (wispering) I went to a local small DIY shop and they advised this Graffitti remover (it is for wood and brick), but I gave it a try and got most of it off).

I love my suite and it had been discontinued so had nothing to lose - so I left it till after the insurance man had been

So we got a cheque to a shop of our choice and have bought new bed room furniture, as our MFI stuff (12 years old) was held together with sticky tape and love

FunkyGlassSlipupandyouredead · 29/10/2007 10:36

EHM - fleas are common, especially at this time of year as they come inside for a cosy home

spookybatoscar · 29/10/2007 10:51

EHM Fleas are a pain. You need to treat the house at the same time as the pet. Good news is each flea is specific to the pet so if the bite you (or Ellie [sad} they die.

Don't get them as much now we have stone florrs and stripped boards downstairs. I will check out 3 mogs today tho.

Don't stress, they do go

yaddayah · 29/10/2007 10:56

madscary sorry not caught up with threads but hoping your friend is ok and your mum's results are good

So far have:
Put away breakfast stuff
Sorted PTA stuff
Paid two outstanding bills
Opened and dealt with last weeks post
Part put away tesco delivery (halted for 1st cuppa as due to no milk until now am gasping!)
Sorted laundry into darks/mixed/whites/pinks (dd's !)
Phoned w/m people (still no part
Phoned MIL (she's doing washing as is lovely neighbour )
Put away passports

Whole house is a hotspot ATM so am going to tackle living room

Sorry for lack of personals .. hope you're all well

EvilHM · 29/10/2007 11:20

madscary the man has taken the 2 cushions away to see if he can recover I would have been more than happy with a new couch as is a very light pinky/cream colour not child/animal friendly at all. I really dont know what we where thinking about when we bought it now. We did have cats & no dd.
FGS I thought it was something I had done wrong cleaning wise.thank you.
grouchy hope your cats are flea free.
yadd glad you mil is doing the washing, will she dry & iron it for you too?

Right still trying to finish cleaning Ellie's room. Our vets dont sell Acclaim? I can buy on line, but I've tried call our local pet supermarket to see if they stock.
