Welcome Cinders and Supermonkey. We are all nice I promise. I may have been a little forthright when you started babystepping but I blame it on PMT.

Ruby - think of it as an investment.

Luda and EHM - you have to treat the house as well as the cat. Otherwise they lie dormant and pounce the moment the cats immunity wears off. trust me.

SuperMonkey · 29/10/2007 14:54

Oh I don't think you were too forthright Funky! It was just what everyone needed. Needless to say, people did drop out. I'm still well and truly taking babysteps and attacking it all in bite-sized chunks, but it's working .

ludaghoul · 29/10/2007 14:55

ooooh FGS you are right....when we first moved in here we had to do the whole house. I had half a tin left so I have done our bedroom and the living room...I will probably have to invest in another tin but it is a bit beyond my budget at the moment (they are sooo expensive....especially if you get them directly from the vets...which I find is the only way to go...the cheaper supermarket ones just never seem to work do they)

yadda I'm having one of those "running through treacle" days....
I could do with a few of your firemen to help too

spookybatoscar · 29/10/2007 14:57

Welcome to Cinders and Supermonkey It's great here, everyone is dead supportive and really helpful

Hello Everybody EHM forgot to check the mogs I think they are safe but will check later

Ed's 1st day back and he is tired. We had a lovely 3/4 of an hour watching a JCB dig a hole in the road, He was transfixed. It was lovely to watch him get such a thrill from it.

Further Dones

Cheers me dears xx

ludaghoul · 29/10/2007 15:00

Try baby wipes GO...they are great at shifting a whole heap of different marks off things

CocoDeBearisCocoDeBear · 29/10/2007 15:08

Hi and welcome to Cinders and SuperMonkey.

Finally got my ass into gear, so we're all washed and dressed, breakfasted and lunched, floors swept, DW unloaded, WM on and washing distributed around various radiators, groceries put away, light tidying accomplished, important phone calls made.

House still dusty.

Cat having the lady chop tomorrow, so need to track down cat box...

ludaghoul · 29/10/2007 15:51

coco I like that description! Light tidying. That is just what I have managed today.

The kids are completely entertaining themselves which is brilliant! I have been staring at the tv...watching various housey type programmes. I'm trying to pluck up some courage to clean the bathroom and the downstairs loo....which is really needing a clean....

Bleurgh...

yaddayah · 29/10/2007 15:58

Off to do something productive...Been stuck on MN for too long!

TheMadScaryHouse · 29/10/2007 16:33

Welcome SuperMonkey and Cinders

They are great I feel like I have been here foever, but was on the last batch of newbies.

Ruby I ordered the night garden books for DS2 for Christmas - one came yesterday - its lovley

Well I have made lasagne
hollowed out pumpkin
Put chicken cascase in slow cooker for stock
swept and moped downstairs floors
cuddled DS' lots - yummmmmmmm

I have a pile of ironong to do when the boys are in bed this evening, so will add that to my other list.

ITS STARTING TO GET DARK

BiancaCastafiore · 29/10/2007 16:48

We abandoned our trip to town - all too tired. I'm quite relieved tbh as I really didn't feel up to trooping round the shops today. I've ordered dd some shoes (and a few other items) online from Next instead

I have done nothing much all afternoon except drink tea and eat lemon drizzle cake I'll regret it tomorrow but it's what I needed today

Off to run a bath for the kids now so they can be ready for supper on the sofa in front of bedtime hour as a last-night-of-the-holidays treat

These darker evenings are already making me feel tired!

yaddayah · 29/10/2007 17:53

IKWYM
It feels like its about 8pm !
Not sure I'm keen on these dark days (especially after the lovely sunshine today)

Need to clear kitchen table and take up rest of suitcase stuff (currently lurking in dining room) done

Have also sorted out dd's wardrobe and purged her of all the non fitting stuff

Today has been a sorting out day
Tommorrow I clean

Big stylee

Jas · 29/10/2007 18:16

Evenin.

Welcome Cnders and SuperMonkey I just muddle through on here, but the lovely FLYers keep my motivation up(Doing the babysteps agai really helped me too)

I'm just here writing a huge list of errands to do tomorrow while dp is working. have also just agreed to go in and do an extra hours work before the school run tomorrow so I need to be organised.

I've read the thread and forgotten the rest, except babywipes are good on leather. White spirit would be my next option test it firstin case it takes the colour out of the leather.

How do kids manage to hoard such crap? Or is it just my DSD? I'm attacking her room this week as she is away on a school trip. For example, I have just found a wicker basket full of empty sweet wrappers . I think I have managed today to gather all the rubbish, just need to spend the rest of the week organising it so that it doesn't get in this state again (wishful thinking).

FunkyGlassSlipupandyouredead · 29/10/2007 18:53

Hi Guys. DH is back so I am breathing a sigh of relief.

Have just picked up all toys from living room floor and they are where they belong. Also tidied play room - DD1 helped by parking the buggy & baby trike in a 'car park' type fashion

Supermonkey - kids will hoard if you let them.

DD1 is donating her Little People set to DD2 for her December birthday. I'm very pleased

BiancaCastafiore · 29/10/2007 19:09

FGS enjoy having your dh back. Well done your dd1 for having a clear out and donating things to dd2

I need chocolate tonight...might ask dh to bring me back a bar of whole nut. Trouble is I know I'll regret it if I eat it but I feel the need for a pick-me-up

The kids school bags are packed and their uniforms are ready. I just need to sort a packed lunch for dd in the morning.

Jas · 29/10/2007 19:11

DD1 tends to gather books and bits of paper on her bed, and I don't go up as often as I should (top bunk) but they don't get much chance to hoard, as I'm now making them tidy it themselves a bit more.
I have also blocked the door to the toy cupboard temporarily as I am havig to move stuff upstairs to get work done down here.

I've done my evening routine (I think.- I'm actually doing it from memory at last!)

Jas · 29/10/2007 19:12

Aaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggghhhhhhhhhhhh! Just did a huge post but it didn't work! So going to have to remember what I wrote...

Ok so no FLYing today or tomorrow (damn work) but wanted to pop in and say hello to you all. Oh, also wanted to welcome those dipping their toes in... come in - the water (and our linen closet) is lovely! (I really hope this hasn't posted twice or by now my cliches are going to sound very very sad...)

Oh, had posted previoulsy (I think) about the sudden death of one of our lovely guinea pigs dd2 is still in a state and is emotionally blackmailing me to get a dog...

Ok. Better get to bed. Have a lovely day tomorrow all and think of me. I miss you on a Monday and a Tuesday (damn those bills that have to paid). Speak to you all Wednesday if not before x
