cazboldy · 27/10/2007 06:55

just a quick drop in. Am already doing house work (just waiting for the kitchen floor to dry) just so I can nip out for a ride with dd1 on her pony while my mum is here later!

BiancaCastafiore · 27/10/2007 07:36

Morning EHM thanks for the thread. at Ellie waking so early!
Cazboldy enjoy the ride

My two were up pretty early today too and are now downstairs in front of cbeebies while I've been sorting some laundry etc. Dh is obviously still in bed.
I'm not working today (yay!) but have to take ds to a party this afternoon and dd wants to carve a pumpkin, I thinking soemthing like this
I also need to get the house straight for my VIP visitor tomorrow

I really feel I should point you all in the direction of the link I put up last night -really worth a look

TheMadScaryHouse · 27/10/2007 08:55

Morning all

I am still feeling very tender this morning - temp still high and I have a tummy bug - me thinks. DS2 is also still being sick - urgggggggggggggg

We are going to have to move some plans this weekend as we are hving some building work completed ad they will die if left were they are. So I am going to try and take it easy today and let DH do all the parenting

ludaghoul · 27/10/2007 09:08

Morning Everyone

Busy day out today...food shopping...errand running for dh...bank...post office...um, oh yes...the vets...I think the cat has fleas..can't see any anywhere but she keeps jumping about and is licking herself bald!

Anyway...have to get kids dressed so we can get off, and its raining

bianca...My DD1 LURVES the Amarillo song....they learned it at her school, and the whole school got up on the stage to sing it, it was really funny!

Ruby good luck with the fountain

GO glad you are feeling better...my kids like Lord of the Rings too (it must be that scary, intriguing thing going on)

tort HELLO the halloween party sounded fun!!

madhouse Take it easy, hope the plants are ok, and you feel better soon...and your Ds2 too xx

EHM Hi Have a good day, hope you can catch up on some sleep...or rest at least, and thanks for the hread

cazboldy hello to you too

Jas · 27/10/2007 09:31

Morning all
Thanks for the thread EHMSorry you were up so early. I was up at 6.30 (everyone except dp was in fact, and he is still asleep[angy]) but the dds have hoged the computer since we got up.

I have eaten breakfast and finished the book club book already, so not a very stressful morning.

Tortoise - I remember the Halloween party last year. Are you going to decorate the whole house again?

Bianca - I saw that "news"when the link was first put up.It is really funny

Madhouse - was confused by the dying pans You'd think with my appalling typing I'd be used to filling in missing letters by now. I hope you get them moved ok.

Luda you've got a bsy day ahead. I need to do loads of errands too but may put them off tl tomorrow.
I'm taking the kids to the farm today. It will be cold, but there are Halloween activities there, and I need to use my season tickets again before they close for the winter.

All is revealed here Ruby
Have a great party

TMSH hope you feel better soon x x

I've just made a very basic witches dress for dd (except I had no black fabric so it's a dark brown...no-one will notice, right?) We'll sew some sparkles on it later.

Dh has taken the kids out to run some errands so i need to hoover upstairs and sort the 2nd load of washing. Downstairs will wait - I'm expecting much mess when we carve the pumpkin this afternoon!

Not much else going on. Feeling a bit as I've gained weight this week

Better go and make the most of having the house to myself for an hour or so.
See you all later x

spookybatoscar · 27/10/2007 14:43

Hello again you wonderful Flying friends

Done so far

Up
Take laundry downstairs
Load and run WM
Clear away last night's detritus (DH made a curry, fab but he used EVERYTHINGand didn't clear up ANYTHING
Clean worktops
Clean hob
Shine sink
Make Ed's breakfast
Upstairs and shower
Shower Ed
Dry and dress
Make bed
Draw curtains
Make Ed's bed
Draw his curtains and spruce his room
Dress Ed
Go to Tesco (just awful. DH ended up quibbling with customer services about an advertised offer being charged at full price)
Home
Help with the putting away
Sort out the veg in the fridge
Sweep kitchen floor
Put rubbish and recycling out
Make lunch

To Do

Empty DW
Put away
Tidy front room
Sweep and vac front room
Mop downstairs
Sort out dry laundry
Create new ironing pile
Vac staircase

Still got tons to do, still feel I'm doing it on my own but I will implement the timer and I have started writing down the tasks that need completing. DH looked at it and seemed daunted...That made me smile

Better crack on, steady away.

ludaghoul · 27/10/2007 16:01

Back from my busy day!!! And very busy it was. I am knackered and my feet hurt...and the kids are well and truly grateful to be home!

Things just take sooooooo long with three kids in tow! A 2 minute nip into the vets takes at least 10 minutes, and a quick walk around town to various different shops, bank, P.O etc takes over an hour.

Now I'm home and the house is a complete mess, shopping needs putting away and the kids are nagging in my ear for a drink...can I put the rug rats on and can I draw a picture of a dolphin!???

[breakdown emoticon]

FunkyGlassSlipupandyouredead · 27/10/2007 16:06

I have cleared out my garage.

4 things now on freecycle and about 8-10 things to go on ebay tonight.

spookybatoscar · 27/10/2007 16:41

Just got my last 3 things to do

I've now DONE
Empty DW
Put away
Load and run TD
Vac front room (inc the bits behind furnishings that get missed)
Vac staircase
Vac office staircase (I shouldn't as it's DH's space)
Vac Landing
Vac Ed's room
Mop kitchen
Mop front room
Mop Bathroom
Bring shopping for upstairs, errh, upstairs!

Sit down as legs have gone very very wobbly

To Do

Put laundry away in bedroom
Create itoniong pile
Tidy bedroom cabinets
Tidy storage on landing
Empty WM
Put to dry
Play with Ed
read him stories

Collapse in exhausted heap

Last night Ed started to take notice of his books and started to put letter sounds into words. I'm dead chuffed at that (but Ed ...it is about time mate)

Better get going TTFN

spookybatoscar · 27/10/2007 18:56

And I've done it all plus I've emptied the TD and sorted it. The house looks good and I'm happy about that.

When Ed came home with DH he came looking for me and found me sorting the bedroom cabinet. He said 'I've found you! I thought you were in bed' I told him I'd been tidying up and he said 'Oh thank you for doing all the cleaning'

Having a well deserved and well earned special peroni beer and I'm loving every mouthful.

Have a nice lie in tomorrow

Nighty night xx

Jas · 27/10/2007 19:34

Yay oscar It is nice to be thanked occasionally

ludaghoul · 27/10/2007 19:46

GO so pleased you got a thank you
you really do deserve it...you are always doing well

I on the other hand am very and
I have had the kids all day running about like a blue arsed fly....come home to a shite heap of a house, spend all evening tidying and cooking supper. Dh has spent all day at a rally, doesn't turn up for supper, comes home and announces he is back off out again as there is a evening do (a beer tent) and he HAS to be there to take photo's of the trophy presentation (and by the looks of things it was the beer tent he had been in instead of being at home eating supper )

Sooooo I have to get the kids to bed ....which I haven't managed as of yet, as I have only just finished getting them changed and doing teeth, and picking up the crap all over their rooms...and sorting out yet another arguement over something

Why is it I NEVER seem to be the one doing what ever the hell I want...on my own...but I'm ALWAYS the one who is super glued to 3 small kids day in day out, doing exactly the opposite of what I want to do!

Sorry guys...rant over...

Well these kids really won't put themselves to bed, and the crumpled pile of washing sitting staring at me really won't fold itself either...

See you all tomorrow xx

spookybatoscar · 27/10/2007 19:56

lUDA > I know EXACTLY what you feel like and it's fecking shite .

DH can do whatever he wants but I always have to include Ed into any equation. (Not that Ed is a problem IYKWIM) I really really wanted to go see a band in Manchester on the 11th but...no, no body else could be ar$ed and I don't know when they'll play again Meanwhile DH gets his football to play and his league football and whatever he wants

Hang on Luda, are we wedded to the same bloke?

BiancaCastafiore · 27/10/2007 19:58

Oh Luda You have my sympathy! We'll have to be sure to get a night out in our diaries for the next time I'm over in Wales Hope bedtime goes smoothly for you and you get some time to unwind this evening.

Grouchy it is lovely that Ed gave you a thank you

Dd was delighted this evening when she saw that dh had spent time this afternoon doing up the cube storage we use as a house for her Barbies Very nice to see she can be nice and sweet sometimes (she just never shows me that side these days)

My house is all clean and tidy (well, it needs a quick hoover downstairs in the morning) ready for EHM coming tomorrow I've even baked a LDC

We ran out of time to carve the pumpkin so may give it a go in the extra hour we're bound to be awake for in the morning....

BiancaCastafiore · 27/10/2007 19:59

PS Luda - I can be on MSN tonight, should you fancy a chat x x

Neverenoughpumpkins · 27/10/2007 20:00

Oh Luda, it's Saturday evening, can't you sit down and rest? the clothes will keep!
If a hug would help , consider it done!
DH has gone to Hong Kong this afternoon, and I had to drive him to the station(an hour each way) then back to cook lasagne and chocolate cake for eight 13yearolds(and a 14 yo)
Then tomorrow DH's parents arrive no doubt expecting house to be pristine and a roast lunch on the table-am seriously considering taking them to the pub cos my MIL considers aything other than the full monty to be "not a proper Sunday lunch". Bless!
Oscar no wonder you get exhausted-your lists today were very long! Is that normal or did you have to catch up today? And so glad you had some acknowledgement!
Evening everyone else!

EvilHM · 27/10/2007 20:01

big >>>> to all bianca LDC yummy can't wait

OP posts:
Neverenoughpumpkins · 27/10/2007 20:03

Hi Bianca

I'm afraid it seems to be universal-I always have to sort babysitters, childcare for work, etc and if I need to do anything extracurricular, I have to sort it.
DH, on the other hand, accepts all sorts of jollies without a care in the world.
Hong Kong for a few days? Lovely-DW will cope just fine!

Grrrrrrrrr!

Neverenoughpumpkins · 27/10/2007 20:04

...and hello EvilHM, hope you and Bianca have a lovely day tomorrow

BiancaCastafiore · 27/10/2007 20:10

EHM I've just repied to your email Don't be suprised if we've made a start on the LDC, it smells soooo yummy!
Hope Ellie gives you a lie-in tomorrow

Neverenough Hello You're so right - even simple things like going to the dentist have to be done with kids in tow - I even had a filling last year with a 3 year old sitting on my lap!!
I have to say that dh is actually very good at being around to help with bedtimes so I'm very lucky He often has to go back out to work once the kids are in bed but that 30minutes/hours help at bedtime when I'm out of energy is a massive help (hmm, maybe I ought to go and tell him this? )

Jas · 27/10/2007 23:46

Just going to add that I also suffer with having to book dp weeks in advance to look after his own children in the evening occasionally, and he just says "I'm going to the pub" and leaves whenever he feels like it.

Sometimes I feel like a doormat.

Neverenoughpumpkins · 28/10/2007 00:10

Jas but just think-do you really want to go in his stead?
I long since accepted that I can't have it all, but as my lovely DDs get older I realise that soon they won't need me at all and then there will be time for me....

BiancaCastafiore · 28/10/2007 07:17

Good morning

Jas for you and your post last night.

We've been up since bright and early - well, not too bad actually, I was awake early (seems to be a common problem) but the kids slept in till 6.30, new time, so not bad at all really).

I'm just running the kids a bath then we might think about carving our pumpkin - we're going to run out of time to do it in soon if we're not careful! On second thoughts, perhaps we should do the pumpkin then have the bath....dd loves scooping out all the seeds etc and is sure to get really covered!
I think I'll have this bath instead

Hope everyone is well this morning
