Hi everyone. I have name changed as I have shared photos with family and friends and I don't want them knowing my usual name.

I have been stuck at home with lousy weather and self- isolation due to colleague getting COVID. I have depression so it's not been the best time tbh. I do have restless energy and can't settle on things so it's taken me absolutely ages to get things done but I have done some decluttering.

I am a teacher and I had loads of paperwork at home. In the end, I got rid of 9 cm height of paper for recycling plus a smaller pile for shredding, lots of envelopes and plastic wallets which I will take back to school. It took me all day and the next to sort this lot out.

I watched the Home Edit recently so I put my cookbooks in a rainbow.

I do have a confession to make - the rest of my house is a mess but I wanted to share my small successes. I will add more photos as I go on.

Hi, @WhereIsMyMojoGone and others! Are you still chipping away?

I feel like I’ve been decluttering for my whole adult life 🙄 and it’s actually worse now than it was before. 4 kids and being a teacher full time doesn’t help! However, we’re all at home now (including my partner) and I’d like to get some stuff done but I came here as I’m feeling so overwhelmed. Have loved looking at your pics! Smile

@BrutusMcDogface Thank you and yes, I'm still here. I have been focusing on family and just doing the everyday tidying, rather than decluttering or organising.

It can get overwhelming but chipping away a little at a time makes a huge difference in the long run. I guess though you have to find what works for you. I do a combination of a little bit of everything to keep me going or nothing, if I don't feel like it. What's really helped me are before and after pics. There's such a sense of achievement when I have a visual reminder of what it used to like before and keeps me motivated.

Just an update of my organisation of the kitchen cupboards. Everything I have done (see previous photos) has remained the same. DC have kept craft cupboard tidy, the gift bags with various items is so easy to use. The biggest changes were the overstock drawer and the snack boxes and they have been a resounding success. The overstock drawer has made shopping so much easier and both this and the snack boxes has made it easier to see what we have and what we need.

I'm a little like a bus, don't post for ages and three posts at once. Just wanted to show you the towel shelf. It's been looking like this since about the same time as the tea towels drawer. Joy! My bedding on the other hand, I haven't ever managed to keep tidy: I will put the pic of the disaster bedding shelf when I get round to sorting it out.

Just a little update. I sorted out my wardrobe. Another rainbow arrangement. Only a few things went in the recycling box. I realised I have a limited palette. Smile

I need to buy storage and declutter. I have 2 Kallax units full of shite I need to let go of. Old fancy dress. Crafts, unwanted craft set gifts, cables for ancient devices
Urgh

WhereIsMyMojoGone · 10/04/2021 21:00

@MrsBDarcy good luck! Maybe do a cubicle or two at a time?

@WhereIsMyMojoGone your wardrobe looks lovely. Mine is mostly navy, blues and purple. Wouldn’t look nearly so pretty - so no point trying! Grin

@Gassylady thank you and 😂 I like your style!
