Morning Ladies

I couldn't get on yesterday to say hi...very hectic day.
DD1 was sick all day, and my washing machine was going ten to the dozen! She managed to miss the loo/bucket every time

DS is now looking peaky, but I have to go and food shop today as my cupboards are bare again.

DH is up and out already today...he is Marshalling at a Rally again this weekend....in the rain (hehe)

I only briefly read through yesterday's thread...

ALL POORLEY'S I really hope you are feeling a bit better today....darn these illnesses

Bianca HUGS I am sorry you are feeling so glum....I feel your pain I really do....if I can get on MSN today you are welcome to have a rant/chat

HELLO TO ALL xxxxxxxx

Morning Luda

I'm feeling alot better this morning. I've just eaten a slice of toast, so I will see if I really am better soon!

I hope everyone else, and all the poorly children are picking up too.

We have a day out at "King Harold Day" planned (Don't ask. Our town has vague connections and it is an excuse for loads of activities and people to dress up in costumes.)
We won't be dressing up, but both the girls think they have artworkfrom school on display so it is an excuse to get out and let ds run around a bit.

I've only done the most basic morning routines the last few days, with nothing else later. Icame down to a sink full of last nights washing up this morning. I will try and get back on top of it over the weekend.

Simply · 13/10/2007 09:44

Thanks for the thread luda. I hope your dd1 feels better very soon.

Jas I'm glad to hear that you've managed to eat something. I do hope you're on the road to recovery now.

gibberish I've missed you and neverenough and EHM, too! I'm not on here regularly enough to know when people are off on hols, taking a break or whatever, so I don't ask about people as a result. A big hello to the aforementioned posters.

Right. Must keep cracking on. There is still lots to do following on from sorting out clothes and toys yesterday and the plumber is due to look at the bathroom again to give us a quote. See you later!

SpookyBearistheSpookyBear · 13/10/2007 10:16

Hi everyone.

Hope people are feeling better today.

Gibberish, yes, I'm variations on Bear and Beer. I just change my name whenever everyone stops speaking to me!

TrinityRhino · 13/10/2007 10:20

gibberish · 13/10/2007 13:11

Afternoon!

Aaw thanks simply

Feeling a lot better today! Got 9 for dinner tonight so have quite a lot to do... which is why I am sitting here doing none of it Have made the dinner though (chicken and cashew nut curry) so just need to heat it through tonight. And house is ok so just need to hoover, dust and clean bathrooms.

dh has taken the girls out for the afternoon - Chico (you know irritating 'it's Chico time') is visiting the shopping village down the road so he has taken them to see him. I think they have stalls up and stuff to do so they will be happy.

I'm happy - peace, perfect peace!

ScaryMonsterStories · 13/10/2007 13:27

Havn't read thread - just to say I have done a thorough pamper mission today - have been on a mega shopping spree (I never shop for myself) & I am going out tonight.

I have done nothing else though. My parents are arriving before 3 and before then I need to
mop hte kitchen floor again (DP spilt coffee granules now I am sticking to hte flooR)
Change our bed
prep a cottage pie for tea
shower & straighten my hair...
...best get on then....

ScaryMonsterStories · 13/10/2007 13:51

Arrrrgggghhhhh I've been scuppered...

I have mopped floor....need a new mop so floor is soaking as the absorbant bit is crap...so an't get in kitchen to do cottage pie (and clear worktops which should have been on list as are also very sticky and cluttered....went to do bedroom and DP has gone and got into bed ...I guess I will just have to sit and MN ...

ludaghoul · 13/10/2007 14:08

Hello All

I have just got back from town....
Went up the high street to do a bits and bobs shop, went to Pets at Home (I might aswell move in there I have been in there so much lately!!)
I did a Lidls shop...and an Iceland shop...took the kids to have a Happy Meal (just to cheer them all up .... and DD1 has managed to keep her nuggets down so far!)

Now all I have to do is put all the shopping away....I hate it! So I'm just stopping for a dohnut and a drink before I do

It is WICKED .

OMG! The Ludaloo household actually has a .....vegetable rack!! (I bought a cheap one on little wheels) I can't believe it
It has sprouts, cauliflower, brocolli, carrots, peppers, potatoes, spinach, cucumber, onions, parsnips and lettuce in it

No one really looks that impressed by it....but I'm very chuffed! I feel like a good mum for the first time in god knows how long. (The guinea pigs are going to appreciate the scraps as well!)

I've been trawling the internet for veggy recipies. I'm going to do cauliflower cheese tomorrow I think.

Luda, you're easily pleased
Simply, hello, and thanks for the emails. EHM is away in Boston for a few days more I think...
Tort is off on holiday again in a couple of days too
Jas glad you're feeling better
Gibberish glad the exhibition is going well
Bear for the mop
Ruby poor you! Hope your dd gets better soon.
FGS thanks for your email too, I'll reply soon if the kids will let me stay on the computer!

I hope that's everyone..can't keep scrolling up and down the page - it's making my eyes go funny! Hello to anyone I missed

I'm sorry for my moaning yesterday I've had a few hours out of the house at work today and have found it very nice to have had a change of scene. I'm feeling brighter again so far today

The house is still managing to keep looking OK so I'll hopefully be able to get through the weekend with minimal FLYing

gibberish · 13/10/2007 15:24

Okay, I am about to scream! Have tidied downstairs for visitors... hoovered everywhere and washed kitchen floor. Only for dd3 to traipse through house with muddy trainers and leave muddy footprints all over the place. Gave her a telling off, hoovered. Again. Washed kitchen floor. Again.

And what has just happened? She has just run in, with muddy trainers, and mucked up the whole place. YET FLAMING AGAIN!!!

Not. Happy.

ludaghoul · 13/10/2007 15:32

yes...rather shamefully I am.....
Its mainly because at the age of 31 I have just discovered that vegatables won't actually kill you in a slow and painful, gut shrivelling kind of way and that they don't actually make me gag as badly as I remember (dh still believes all this is true, but at least I can make sure my kids don't grow up being as bad as we are!)

I am sure it stems back to my childhood...I don't think my mother was a particularly good cook...and I remember veggies were always soggy and yuck...and I wouldn't be able to leave the table until said yuck was eaten...so I guess it did make me gag and then as I got old enough to make my own decisions.....I decided not to eat them at all!

I'm finding out different ways to cook them, to make them more appertising....and I never ever make my kids eat anything they don't like. They have to TRY it...and if tried and disliked, then thats good enough for me. I always put a little bit of everything on their plates too...they might like it the next time they try.

OP posts:
ludaghoul · 13/10/2007 15:35

ARGHHHHH!!!!! I would be yanking said trainers off her feet and throwing them across the garden by now!!! Then sellotaping the mop to her hands and locking her in the kitchen until the floor is clean again!

(perhaps not the most rational of responses, granted)

OP posts:
ludaghoul · 13/10/2007 15:41

OFFS!!!!!!!!!!

DD2 has just systematically gone through the filing cabinet taking out all the tab inserts, which tell me what is in each blinkin divide

That'll teach me not to sit on MN and not to pay enough attention to the little horror!
